- Using WAll Rock as your lining for a ceiling, it's a sound base for what's coming up in a future video about papering a ceiling with a PhotoWall Mural.
In this video tutorial, I demonstrate the step-by-step process of lining a ceiling with WallRock Fibre Lining, a high-quality lining paper, using Wickes Tub paste. From setting it out to hanging and navigating wires for a ceiling light, I guide you through achieving a smooth, sound surface-ideal for painting or, in this case, for a stunning PhotoWall mural feature ceiling paper. Discover how simple it is to transform your space with this efficient method.

Another great lesson. You love that Wickes adhesive :)
It would be great to see a snag fix vid.
Snag fix?
fixing problems, snagging small defects etc.@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
Nice one Phil, I do it the same way if I can remove the pendant...if not
I measure back from halfway through the rose to a point near the wall then transfer the remaining measurement to either side of the wall then ping a line, my start line...that avoids pulling the cable and pendant through the paper while you're hanging
I'm glad you touched on the planning aspect..nothing worse than adding a tiny strip. 👍🏼
Good job Phil, look forward to see the progression in this room.👌
You and me both! LoL
Joking apart. It turned out really well.
A follow up finished room video goes out later in February.... After the last video of the room is end of January
Just about to use that paper myself for first time. Looking forward to it ....
Did the video help?
Nice hair clip sunshine
Thanks
Struggled a bit with that first length Phil 😁
Hey.... It's all real and not made up lol
Bluddy stuff ;)

Thats why i love your videos mate, no bullshit editing, just a top tradesman doing his job👌, i quite like wallrocking ceilings tho, its tough stuff, not like that dirty woodchip from back in the day!!!👍
I don't want to start tapping the wall with a roll of paper then hey presto it's papered, no one sees what you're doing that way. lol
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
Fair play mate, many on youtube do just that !!!
oh I know!! lol
Phil there is a face side on wall rock
Yep. One for painting on.
But as long as you hang the same side it doesn't matter for papering over.
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator got you ,didn't know that
it's non woven, it's onlt the side may have a slight texture or smooth on one side (they do a smooth paper now as well). But if you use a roller the orange peel effect would lose any texture if you put it on the wrong way, I say always hang off the same side, don't mix them up.
Those arms look like something out of gorillas in the mist lol
What would be the ideal white paint to go on top of 1200 grade lining paper on a ceiling - matt contract emulsion?
Keep with either of the ceiling paints in ve done videos on back of last year.
Isomat ceiling paint
Or TeknoCeiling 02
Or like I've shown in many videos Tikkurila AR2.
All of the above are proper flat paints
How long do you have to wait before you can paint the ceiling after papering it? 😊
I leave it till next day and let it dry naturally without rushing it with heat on it.
Hi can I fit light weight coving to walls that has Wallrock KV 600 fitted?
I can't see why not.
Ideally you'd fit coving before though.
Thank you Phil
Is this cross lining when i was told cross lining was one way then lined the other way
Well, it will depend on the way you put the final paper on.
Some finishing papers may be hung horizontal.... So you would hang the line the opposite way.
Aye on a ceiling whats horizontal and vertical
@@williamgorman893 the opposite way to the normal way of hanging a paper on a ceiling. ;) as discussed in the video :)
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator the way aye hang lining paper on a ceiling follow the corner ie cornice edge if it runs out fill inn with either lining paper or filler.50 years now since I started painting and decorating so much has changed since then can't even get glue size now that's all we had then don't forget l a p hot water paste. Boss said I was the best at preparing for his graining church doors .the grainings gone but still painting
@@williamgorman893 you watched the video all the way through.. all explained about running out.
Graining.... You seen my video on my decorative treatment tool box?
ffs invest in a wide angle lens!
11mm not good enough for you?
You watched the video, why not contribute some dosh towards it?
Papering ceilings just looks annoying and completely unnecessary 😂
At least you've now been shown how to do it when you fancy a go. LoL
Thats no way to paper a ceiling phil
Do tell.
60 years ago I was taught to paper the ceiling with a 9 knot hamilton papering brush not your hand!
LoL
How do you find non woven PTW papers 60yrs on.
I've just recently retired phil I've used them but beings old school I prefer to paste the paper all the best alan
It's moving with the times and making life easier, not harder.
Enjoy retirement.
