Love love love this product … wish Lexus would do two things … make the LX a two row only flagship SUV … then provide a version of the sequoia that is luxury focused only (the next tier up from capstone) and then provide a lwb version
IMHO, the LX should have transitioned to the longer Sequoia WB. It comes up short (literally) against the competition. The base LX is 2 row and the U-Lux trim has just 4 captains.
@@guentherwilke2055 yeah I think if Lexus wants to keep that model they should only offer it as the ultra luxury version. Then make the sequoia based model as the one for families- they really need to offer a long wheelbase version. I love my Lincoln Navigator but i also have a Lexus ES hybrid and a Camry Hybrid. I have been blown away with the reliability of both Toyota and Lexus and the comfort of Lexus is so nice. I want to replace my navigator so bad with a Lexus product but the perks of a navigator L with awesome third row space and cargo space is simply hard to give up on. Toyota/Lexus just make the LWB version of sequoia already and give Lexus its own variants
As a long time Lexus GX and LX owner, I am very disappointed with the interior of the New Lexus GX550. It befits a $35K vehicle not a 75K - 85K vehicle. No wood, no real luxury, belongs in a Toyota, not a Lexus. Far and away the best version of the GX was the original edition 470 introduced in 2003, nicest interior, best seating, best tuning of the engine for merging acceleration, and best bang for the buck. The 2009 remodel introduced the absolutely worst ergonomically designed 2nd row seats in any vehicle sold in the USA, that remained largely unchanged until this redesign. There are some nice changes, but Lexus decided to skimp on the luxury. I am in the market for a new SUV, prefer a body on frame, but am considering the Land Rover Defender, The BMW X-7, the G-Wagon, and Lexus GX and LX models, as well as the new guy on the block the Ineos Grenadier.
Considering, but have major trepidations about the durability and reliability of Land Rover vehicles. My neighbor just turned his 2021 Land Rover in after having to get flat bedded off the NYS Thruway for the 4th time with his Range Rover. He picked up a Lexus LX 600 Luxury edition. @@fredmagic09
I’m surprised she didn’t mentioned one of their competitors being the Rivian R1S. Probably because when you look at feature to feature, the R1S is way better. I would agree with the Defender being a solid choice. Here’s the features that are better in the Rivian R1S: 1)Extra storage (frunk trunk, space where the gas tank normally goes). 2) It comes with a usable 3rd row seat and still gives you more space in the back with it up. 3)The true split gate design is awesome for hauling groceries and for cooking outdoors and sitting on (I mountain bike). They put the 1,500W AC plug in a perfect spot for using a portable induction cooktop. 4) Flat cargo space. So nice for hauling your kids to collage and for car camping. 5) Off-road performance. 15” of ground clearance with 34” all-terrain tires. Best in-class approach, break over and departure angles. Can forge through 3’ of water without the need of a snorkel or Diff breathers. Quad motor drive with 840 horse power. 6) On-road performance. 0-60 in ~3 seconds (with ‘34 all-terrain tires 🤯) using it’s instant torque vectoring with 910lb feet of torque. McLaren-style electro-hydraulic “sway bar” for cornering with adjustable stiffening suspension. Goes from sport stiff suspension, to comfy mall crawler without the need to make any aftermarket upgrades. Of course, there’s a whole list of other benefits like: Panoramic roof, 175,000 drivetrain warranty (which includes the battery), 18 speaker/1,100W sound system, integrated high-quality camp speaker, remote start that won’t put your family in danger if you use it with the garage door closed. While I really like these last ones, they would not have stopped me from going with the GX or the Defender if those vehicles had better specs of the numbered things above. One last thing worth mentioning is that the Rivian R1S keeps getting better over time with updates. These updates affect, not just the screens and user interface, they improve things like ride quality (they introduced a “mall-crawler” mode), acceleration (they made reverse easier to control), windshield wiper performance (i.e. they stop moving when front doors are open to not spray passengers), Self-leveling camp mode that also affect lights, sounds and climate for car-camping. Other OEM can’t do these things because they don’t own the “brains” to each individual component. So once you buy any other SUV, well…hope it’s perfect off the lot.
@@Texasbmw11 Not sure what your point is. Please explain how being electric stops it from “bing a competitor”. Are you thinking that having to make weekly trips to a 3rd party fueling facility and 4x/year oil changes put this in a category all its own? Because you have to carry an engine instead of cargo space and because you make more noise than torque it’s not fair because the gas engine it’s too handicapped? I would argue there’s not enough EV alternatives yet to make your point true (yet). Once the Scout is in market, or Ford has a EV SUV, then yeah…you can start segmenting EVs vs ice in more fair brackets.
Shoutout to the Lexus employee speaking. Great information.
*Great first look , thank you*
Delivery dates, delivery dates, dealer allocations, please ask. When can we see them at our dealers
You can see it when you pay the 40% markup.
Texas Lexus dealership told me initial vehicles delayed until April after I asked them last week. West coast gets them first.
Call your dealer. Mine said April…
Ive got one secured at MSRP and have been told April for expected delivery.
Bring back red interior
How much markup ya'll expecting from dealers early on?
just handsome Macho looking Car Damnnnn
When are they showing up to dealers?
They have been delayed for around April.
Mackenzie is a marketing genius. These are really exciting updates to the GX series. It will be more popular than the Land Cruiser!
I’m cross shopping the Overtrail with the Ineos Grenadier. While not perfectly apples to apples 🍎 I’m also factoring in Lexus reliability.
Need a really good blue
Très bien

Is turbo the only option for GX? If so, it's a big NO to me.
For not it is. They might bring a hybrid later on

How much does the R1S cost? The reason it isn't a "competitor" is because Rivan is in the electric market.
How much does Rivian pay you per hour?
@@AArrad Valid points make you connected with the company? No, just common sense.
Lexus isn't going out of business in the next 5 years though

Tired of all the hype and no actual product or allocations for dealers.
