Shame we don't get a showdown in today's M4x4 Final between BOT/USA/RSA with USA's DQ :( So silly that some were recently suggesting that an almost 39yr old Isaac Makwala who has been a great servant for BOT should still be a starter just cos he ran well back in Tokyo '21 when BOT won Olympic Bronze. His terrible 47.67 1st leg means he has to be replaced in the Final by either Kebinatshipi who ran 45.94 on 1st leg in the Mixed 4x4 or Pesela who split 45.31 on 3rd! S/O GBR's Charlie Dobson who split 43.63 in the Mixed 4x4.

Makwala is a seasoned veteran though,In his hey days he ran a personal best of 43.72seconds so you cannot say he was only apart of the team only because he ran good in Tokyo
Makwala holds a PB of 19.77 in the 200m and 43.72 in the 400m .
The coaches only included him on the team because the likes of Kebinatshipi and Pesela we're both running the mixed relays
Baboloki Thebe,Zibane Ngozi and Sibanda are all off season due to injuries and Makwala was the only valuable substitute.

He's the future of Track.... maybe even the present??
I know one thing, before this man's career is over, he's gonna have a WR in one or more of the 3 main sprinting events. 100m, 200m or 400m. The least likely being the 100m.... probably won't touch that one but the other 2 are definitely in the discussion IMO. Dude's a Beast already.... and his style is so effortless. He always looks like he's Floating down the track. Reminds me a Prime Allyson Felix when she was floating down that back stretch.
