I've never worn suits before, but next month I'll be starting a new job where I'll basically have to wear them every day. I watched some of your videos, and I'm literally excited! I think I have a better idea of what might work for me now. I'm a 33 year old guy
A good Norfolk suit, a nice perfume, and a good attitude, and they'll love you at your new job. Little by little, you'll take ownership of your sophisticated outfit leather phone cases, leather watches, polished bags 😎
I thought I was the only one who appreciated the aesthetics of a leather case...The ones from Vionentus are a gem. Are you all about the suit + rings outfit
Good luck with your new job. Hope you find a nice outfit to wear that suits you (no pun intended). Remember that you can build your outfits over time. I'd recommend investing in a good jacket and a couple pear (of cheaper) pants.
Lucky enough to have a half-belted Norfolk jacket and a 1970's safari jacket. Norfolk's in green tweed with a game pocket and the safari jacket is in real 100% polyester with 100% nylon lining, I'm like a static magnet wearing it 😆
Thank you for this wonderful channel! I’m in my 60’s, but I was raised by gentlemen (Dad & Grandpa). I thoroughly enjoy dressing in gentlemanly fashion making my clothing choices based on what I’ve learned watching your content. I’m getting compliments and responding correctly to them. I’m currently in search of a Harris Tweed sport coat. I’ll eventually find one. Here’s to you and the team. Cheers!!!
Raphael, don't have the Norfolk trousers cinched in. Wear them with wide braces (suspenders); they're designed for you to be leaning down to pick up game from the floor. Much easier to do with braces than a belt or a tight waistband.
I’m pretty amazed how it fit out of the package….in So Cal, we can’t wear heavy fabrics due to the warm weather, but the trousers are definitely on point
There's different weights of tweed for different seasons. I have a heavyweight Harris tweed sportcoat for winter, a lightweight M&S coat for spring and a medium weight Sears coat for fall
There's different weights of tweeds, but hard to get a lot of items that aren't in one more standard weight than others, which can be a bit warm for most the winter here, much less the year. And that's most the stuff that's Off Rack only because the tailors here are either really expensive if ye can find a good one or can't be bothered to do much more than hem trousers most of the time because anything more complicated cuts into their bottom line or something. I may be the only guy I know who wears tweed casually all that much that has more than a couple things lying around it seems.
I don't think it was Norfolk but I seen an English jacket that looked like it yesterday, it really stood out as a vintage look but seems a bit too long for me. At another vintage shop I saw really thick tweed pants again too big but was amazing weight and thickness compared to all the paper thin wool dress pants today.
Did it smell like cedar or mothballs ? 🤔 please cover how a good way to store wool . I remember when i lived in England as a kid that the fear of having wool was the pontential of the attack of moths .
They're just sporting shirts with repeating multicolor stripes in a grid design for the most part. Most have button-down collars. Some have more colors than others and some have thicker stripes, maybe, but if the stripes are too thick, then it becomes a check pattern instead, right? [windowpane]
Regarding the tail coat.... These were made with matching trousers. Assuming a vintage coat like the one you purchased is not available with the original trousers, can one buy modern trousers and have them match sufficiently well to go with the coat or is it a lost cause. And what is "sufficiently close". Thanks
Some tweed patterns are more common than others, but matching is almost always a Fool's Errand if it's something fairly unique unless ye can afford t' have lots of cloth woven special order custom job, etc.
I don't know when they wore that vest with the suit instead of matching one or ne'er HAD matching one, but I'll wager he's disinterested in wearing with the vest, anyway.
Oh, ye meant the OTHER coat that didn't come with the trousers. I'd say similar rules may apply for finding the correct fabric or shade, but I don't think morning dress follows the same color convention as White Tie, etc.

I was just browsing that same website today. Shame about the morning coat, but that Norfolk jacket was very nice indeed. I may have to mke. a purchase myself
I am sorry, for being rude. Have you considered going bald? I think you will look amazing. That comb over doesn't suits you. It feels like you cannot cope with hairloss.
A shaved head is not a classical gentleman look. It's for workmen, tradesmen etc. Prince William doesn't shave his head. Secondly, he doesn't have a combover.

I've always been fascinated by three piece tweed suits and vintage safari outfits - especially vintage safari jackets.

On the lookout for a vintage safari jacket
Since you now have an example for it, could you maybe consider making a video on breeches? Maybe part of the "Why did men stop wearing...?" series.
These are very much sports suits.
What a lovely Norfolk set, I've always wanted one.

Would love to see more videos like this!
Being a bit of an anglophile, I always wanted a Norfolk jacket. I hope Sven enjoys his.
Changing the belt seemed like the most obvious choice to improve on the jacket. Great find!
Wow. Amazing suit!
Needs a cap
@@darinmullins4770 Along with the many caps already in his wardrobe, Raphael picked up a couple at Goodwood Revival, too!
@@gentlemansgazette awsome people dont wear hats anymore ! Thats what finishes a well dressed man .

Agree!! Especially if gain the smidge of unexpected weight for the Holidays, too.
Can you guys cover moleskin fabric one day? I feel it is now almost fully forgotten, yet it is a nice classic autumn/winter fabric.
And another underrated fabric: CAVALRY TWILL.
depends where you are I guess. Jcrew does a moleskin every fall
I'm from Norfolk, So I approve ;)
Enjoy watching your channel.
Great score.
If you’re going to get a Norfolk Jacket, there is nowhere better to get your recommendation than from Jack from Norfolk 💚💛
Jack here - I heartily agree 😉 Also, even though I don't follow football, I certainly appreciate the Norwich City FC colours! 🙌
Beautiful Norfolk suit
that gives me a bit of Auric Goldfinger vibe 🍸
Yes, he could be the grandson of Gerd Fröbe! 😊
@@kttk4564 he probably is 😎
Very nice suit, great find
Thank you!

It all depends on where you live, and what the local climate is like...

And good luck finding two or three items that match most the time!!!
Norfolk Suit need to make a comeback
They are Norfolking good!
I appreciate Raphael's liberal view on nudity. Truly inspirational.
The Norfolk suit looked good.
Very nice suit! I have one in the exact same material, very nice
I would like to see the unboxing of the morning coat. Thank you!
Please watch the whole video and you'll see it
I am going to overdress for my bussiness major

i need a jacket like that lol

@@gentlemansgazette ahs lovely 😻
Rioght yer ah boy.
Try dr beckmann dry cleaning sheets for the tumble drier. Clothes are like they have come from the dry cleaners.
What exactly do you do with them? Put your suit in the dryer with the sheets?
Ten minutes on air fluff, no heat. It will also open the fibers back up after being boxed.
Interesting, different vid!
I'm always think that I sweat allot and so have to think very carefully of what to wear, materials etc
Can you do a review on Walker Slater
Can you guys do a video about the tattersall pattern?

What size chest was the Norfolk Jacket?
Love the check. Does it have a name?
Looks like a Tattersall
No, that's not tattersall. More like a Gunclub tweed.

Goodness Rafael, take the waist in and you will rip the cloth as you sit down!
Could be; wouldn't rule it out.
Plan t' actually WEAR the breeks or just have them?
The breeks have been worn at Goodwood Revival, so they aren't just to have them
