That was fun. I really enjoyed much of your content. I am fascinated by the 1930's in terms of style, art, culture, and technology, but in most cases, I don't think I can "carry it off." I basically dress like a peasant: cargo pants, backpacks, crocs - I opt for comfort over style. To some extent, this is the natural consequence of spending over 15 years in harsh, high risk environments. I understand why you stopped the references to "peasants," but I thought it was both accurate and mild compared to what others think when they first see them. Only the insecure and self-conscious were offended. I thought it was funny, and kind of motivated me to be less like a peasant. Thanks for making all this content.

Id like to see you guy make a video exploring the concept of "reverse warm weather black-tie," of which you have a brief write-up on in the guide. I've always wanted to give it a whirl, but always erred on the side of caution and went with the traditional white top with black/blue bottoms. However, now that I have spent so much (un-regretfully) on a beautiful custom one button tuxedo, and being that it seems to be the perfect shade of blue to pair with white trousers (darker than navy, but lighter than midnight), i think i might actually swing for getting a pair of white slacks made to go with it for this coming spring/summer. But anyway, i would like to see as to whether the color reversal is bold enough in itself, or if one could still accessorize with colored accoutrements (lapel flower/socks/Kummerbund/tie/etc.).

I don't think you are arrogant. Educated about clothes - YES. People wear clothes for the different ROLES they are at that moment playing: going to the office/ yard work or home maintenance/ on a date/ running errands/ going to church or a wedding/ at home, special occasions, etc. So your site is for the times men are in a ROLE that might require or be beneficial to be putting his best foot forward... Nobody is judging apparel at Home Depot for instance, but if you attend a social gathering probably they are to an extent. You focus on the exterior - the "book's cover" - in this channel...not being morally better or intellectually better or socially better person, but instead you focus on enhancing a man's visual first impression on others. One's appearance contributes to one's self-esteem and confidence in the world so your channel helps to elevate a man's perceived value, if not to others at least to himself. I do not think you are shallow because you collect nice outfits - as you said it is a hobby in the which modeling your collection is part of it. Clothes are part of your focus, but NOT THE CENTRAL FOCUS OF YOUR LIFE. Nobody is THAT shallow. You guys are normal men who are on a mission to elevate first impressions and self esteem - not to encourage men to feel superior.
When I first started watching Gentleman's Gazette videos, I thought it was some sort of rich organization with connections to the Free Masons or something because of the high stylish clothes.
Preston does look robotic but we are the way we are and the guy seems to be really nice so I don't mind this weird side of him (sorry I'm on comma strike today so you'll have to take a deep breath to read that comment in one go).
Kyle comes across to me as a person people mistake as a harda$$ but is really chill in real life. A guy who got his friends back too. Raphael seems like the type of guy who would give himself an ulcer from over work. Like he constantly has five projects going at once and is stressing about meeting self-imposed deadlines in his long term plans. Preston seems like the type to nerd out about history and obscure clothing facts but is quite comfortable in his own skin and hobbys because his friends "get" him and are just like him with their own interests.
What's all this with 'Bodyguard' Kyle? He looks like one of the nicest guys I can imagine meeting. He looks nothing like a bodyguard or 'tough guy' to me. I'm saying this as a former Federal law enforcement officer myself. I've met a lot of both types.
I can kind of see it. I think the look is usually just big arms in smaller arm openings for polo/t-shirts that we associate with tough people or body guards.
I mean IRL body guards and law enforcement can look like literally anyone. They can be old, young, in shape, out of shape, whatever. I think they're talking about stereotypical bodyguards from movies. He's muscular, tall, bald, facial hair, often wears short sleeves. I have a lot of people ask me if I drove a motorcycle when my hair and beard is grown out. I'm not even close to a biker but I can see how people will think that because certain qualities are always assigned to certain roles in TV and movies.

Yes, we like Downton Abbey. English period dramas do a much better job in terms of clothing accuracy than American counterparts.

@@Manuelgreg2 My mother thinks she got a great deal because she gets 0.05% in a money market account thru Navy Federal, and get Fiddle Faddle buy 1 get 1 free at Aldis this work so she thinks she’s smart with her money. while I made 25% last year on 700k portfolio investing, I don’t have the heart to tell her she is clueless.

Zurück zu Deinem Namen! „Schneider“ kann selbstverständlich bedeuten, dass es Schneider unter den Vorfahren gab. Es kann aber auch der Erntearbeiter („Schnitter“) gemeint gewesen sein, selbst jemand, der besonders tapfer war, der also „Schneid“ bewies. Oder jeder, der irgendetwas schnitt (Hälse?😉) Also, denke nicht nur in Richtung Tailor. A very good night to you!

@@gentlemansgazette Preston, I once lived with a guy that was very similar. He was endlessly amused by people's odd interpretations of him and, not entirely understanding it, began having a bit of fun with it. Over the years he developed a series of gut-busting stories of what he could get people to ridiculously believe-not that I recommend it.😂 Like my ex-roommate, I'm glad you're you and I hope you are too. ❤
