Test drove one of these the other day. Floored it on a freeway on-ramp to get up to speed and almost got hit by an idiot in an old Buick not paying attention. Enjoyed the blocky look and weight. Def a replacement contender. Especially if this is not a cv. Also tested a passport. Leaned more to RAV4. RAV4 hybrid felt like star trek time but preferred gas version.
For 2020 they added Android Auto(standard) also now standard is Sirius XM. They have also added hood blankets on the gas models, which makes the car very quiet now. Pricing is still the same! Please review 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-road!!!!!
I don’t really see a point in anything but the LE and XLE trims. Prices can get high quickly. Why not get a Highlander or 4Runner instead. I bought a 2019 LE AWD with blind spot monitor, cross traffic alert, cargo shade, and rubber floor mats for only $25.7k out the door with tax, title, and all other fees.
@@saralynch8085 So far so good with mine...cleans super easy. I had told my wife I wished manufacturers would bring back a good vinyl, lo and behold here it was. Thing is tho, I don't drive much so I'm not sure how it responds to heavy use.
Good review. My only question is why does Toyota quote towing capacity, while only selling a $20 ball, without the inclusion of any hitch when you build it online?
The awd is slightly better than most intelligent versions, which will send power to the wheel with traction in bursts (about 4 quarter turns per second) until the primary wheel gains traction.
@@DriversOnly Thanks for answering! That's what I was hoping you would say. I really love the way the color looks on this video. I'm planning on going to test drive one next week 😊
I can't help but to feel like that Touch Screen looks so cheap compared to the Prius. I really was thinking about getting this vehicle - but there is too much cheap-looking stuff inside of this. It's the same direction Mazda is going - Both really cheap and plastic looking inside - It really too bad because they could do so much better here!!
Take a look at the tiguan and foresters, the cabins are better and overall better drives in my opinion. Check out driversonlyrankings.com to see where I rate them.
After test driving this, am ordering a 2020 Highlander. Noisy jerky transmission...had a bad feeling about the mechanics inside ...it couldn't decide what gear to go into when I test drove it.
Decent review, but lousy crossover vehicle. I don't like the huge front-end overhang, and low approach and departure angles. I don't think the designer has ever driven off flat pavement in his life. For something that Toyota touts as the most offroad worthy RAV4 to date, this vehicle is actually just a lifted city cruiser.
@@RsGOD-if9rs for the AWD gas models, the transfer case makes a "moo'ing" sound between second and third gear shifts. Toyota has not found a correct fix. I had the issue but it went away on its own after driving on only Sport mode for 2 weeks - when i switched back to Normal mode the sound has yet to come back (this is for about 2 months now).
It's not quite, noisy as hell... also the engine is super weak. If you must have rav4 then go with the prime version. I have one and regretting everyday!
Have any of you read about the 8-speed transmission problems they're having on all the non-hybrid Rav4's? Better give Toyota a year or two to work out the problems or you may be stuck with a dud.
@@18HunnidBK i understand but at least make it 230 or 240 hp with 200lb tq if not at least Toyota should make it cheaper. Its not the best bang for the 💵
I have the 2020 adventure mica black 🖤 Japanese 2000 cc. edition. Excellent.
This is rad the fuel economy is a definite bonus . And it’s a Toyota of course
I have the exact same one and i love it and the two ice edge roof with the lunar rock is so beautiful

Nice. Going to release a review on the RAV4 TRD Off Road. Maybe you'll like that even better than the Adventure :).
What a great review, I purchase this RAV4 next week, I'm so excited!!! Thanks for all your help 😊
Rene Alvarez how do you like it??

Thanks but mentioned at 2:03 mark. Yes I the Rav4 Off Road is on my list :).
I actually like the engine noise. It sounds good when pushed hard.
Even though I have the 2019 Adventure, if I had to do it over I'd wait for the TRD version.
IDeO they have a Trd version coming ? Wow 😮
Going to review that soon! But it does have a huge price premium over the adventure.
The TRD’s wheels don’t look as good as the adventures I don’t think..and they’re not offering the lunar rock with white roof color option
Not worth it. You pay 2,500 more for different tires and suspension. But even Toyota stated it is not any more capable than the adventure.

This Toyota Rav4 Adventure in blue, or the Rav4 TRD would probably be my choice for an SUV.
Slight correction, the seats are called “softex” which is a synthetic material, so no, not leather. Great review...I own a 2019 RAV4 adventure. ✌🏽
I'm having issues with the Toyota website. it won't let me choose the Adventure trim modell to "build"
for me, it stops at the XLE trim.
pls help.
):
seats are not leather. Softex is synthetic made to feel and look like leather.
Thanks!
Used to call it pleather, plastic leather. Lol
Frank Vitelli How is the Softex? Do you know if it wears well? I just want something that is easy to clean and not fabric seats.

Love the color. Wonderful review again.
I bought a 2020 model as a winter beater, the stock tires are not that good in snow at all.
Hey, i saw lexus suv i forgot the model, similar to this, but i love rav4
Probably the NX.
Good review. My only question is why does Toyota quote towing capacity, while only selling a $20 ball, without the inclusion of any hitch when you build it online?
Because you can easily fool a lot of people with a ball 😂
The awd is slightly better than most intelligent versions, which will send power to the wheel with traction in bursts (about 4 quarter turns per second) until the primary wheel gains traction.
I love the color on this one too
Is this SUV grey, or light green? My husband and I couldn't really tell. I love the way you explain everything!
More of a light green and thanks!
@@DriversOnly Thanks for answering! That's what I was hoping you would say. I really love the way the color looks on this video. I'm planning on going to test drive one next week 😊
It’s called Lunar Rock!! I love the color. I have the 2020 XLE in this color.
Please also review a 2020 RAV4 XSE or Limited Hybrid!!!
Traditionally quiet?
You are wrong on that
The Adventure comes with a panoramic roof in NZ

Tell mr about air noise inside at 120 km per h
What about isolation system still cheap like previous addition!!!

HOW DO YOU ADD A TOWING WIRE AND TRAILER BALL?
I test drove this, the breaks and the 8 speed was sketchy. Waiting for 2020 4 runner TRD!!!!
Sketchy how?
I'm thinking about trading my 2015 xle with 28k miles on it for a 2020 4runner. The thing I'm concerned about is the gas. The rav4 shines there.
Still haven't fixed the gas tank problem from last years model, come on Toyota...
Very good and quick review.

Kerri Dillon 8 speed CVT? 😂
Kerri Dillon Oh No!!
How do you know if the 2020 will be better?
Pick mine up tomorrow and am looking at reviews now lol

Is that next to the USB port an Aux input?
I thought the Aux input was far gone why isn't it listed on the specs, that's super important
Main concern is if they fixed the "moo'ing" sound
hey looking at buy one of these, what is the mooing sounds your talking about?

Nice vehicle, but underpowered.
From one Chicago guy to another, too many “over here”s.
Yea not my best...will try to change that.
Could have been worse, “ over by dere “, lol.
