The first time I saw Jessi Colter, I was stricken by her beauty. When she came out with "I'm Not Lisa" I realized that she could also sing. But, in the past few months, I have been watching videos of her and Waylon Jennings. My favorite song of their's is easily "Storms Never Last" Jessi is featured. The camera was on her most of the time, and, as I watched her, I noticed the way she looked at Waylon. That look was one of pure, profound love fir him. I have never seen that look on any other performer's face. Their marriage was truly "Made in Heaven."
Dwight Garner, You are so right. It was difficult not to notice the way Jessi looked at Waylon when they sang. She could not stop smiling at him. And Waylon could not keep his hands off of her! You could just tell how much in love they were. If you have not done so, try to read Waylon's autobiography, written not too long before he passed (1994? 1996?). It is a great book and Waylon tells it all honestly. He not only dedicated the book to Jessi, but he gave credit to Jessi for just about everything good in his life - from his career successes to keeping him alive. His love for Jessi shines through the pages of his book.

As I recall, the video mentioned that Waylon had quit drugs "in the past year". In Waylon's 1994 autobiography, I believe he said he quit drugs "cold turkey" in the summer of 1984. So, I think Mr. Hebner is right - late 1984 or even sometime in 1985.
