Dennis Deyoung is a great musician, a great voice, anybody can demand of him that conservs the voice, he has a melodic voice without accompaniment, that is greatest. His music, his legacy is part of history and anybody can´t delete it.
I never got a good look at Suzanne DeYoung before. WOW. She's got to be close to Dennis's age, but she looks as good as MOST rock stars's second or third wives. If he'd said "And this is my daughter", I would have believed it. When DDY wrote "Lady", all those decades ago, it was about that same woman he's still with today! He wrote some of the greatest love songs of the era, all for the same woman.
+MrSilksoul -- Indeed. He even gave up marijuana smoking early on, back in the day when every rock star used drugs. One night he got too stoned and it gave him a panic attack that lasted into the next day. I think he spent two days in the hospital because of it. I can sympathize with that because I have anxiety too, and marijuana stopped being fun for me a very long time ago. I have known people who use it all day, every day, and to deny they were addicts would be laughable. I'm all for legalization, but let's not pretend weed isn't a drug. Anyway, his voice is amazing. Not only his pitch, tone, and breath control, but it's also naturally LOUD! Most guys his age could not sing that well.
Just saw this, 4 years after the fact .... Awesome! Boy, Dennis sure is gracious, saying "They're gonna go and be Styx, and I'm gonna be Dennis DeYoung" ... They're not ~Styx~; they're a goddamn joke, is who they are.
The BAND Styx is just a cover band without this man ! They are parading around as STYX but are imposters with that whinny (lawence gowin) nowhere. DENNIS IS STYX !!!!
@@Based_StuhlingerRight ,but if you read the history, Dennis was more interested in Broadway style stage theatrics than he was the music, and was pushing the dance more than the song. The other original members agreed that Dennis was holding them back. Seems like the band and the record label fired him? I saw not long ago, and heard the original band with Tommy Shaw in Tallahassee performing with the original bass player, brother of the original drummer. He died recently. I couldn't tell the difference between them and my old eight tracks and vinyl, they sounded exactly like the studio version of the old recordings, that in itself is rare for any live band. Id like to see Dennis and the other Styx band too, but what I've seen on UA-cam of his live performances, in many parts he tends to wander and change from the original tone and rythm, not that it's bad, it is artistic and good considering many of us his age can't keep our voice to what it was when we were younger.

Man his voice is still flawless. You can tell he wasn't a smoker or drinker.
