This song just flows. It's always been one of my personal favorites. The song doesn't look extremely difficult to play, but yet it's just magical. The mandolin solo was incredible and just a single kick drum for the song is all there was, as well as the upright bass, which I didn't even realize until I pulled up the video. The acoustic guitar and accordion fit perfectly in the song too. A song can be simple, but a lot of times, less is more, such as in this case. No screaming guitar solos, and the bass was as about as simple as it gets, which in this case was incredible. John Panozzo was the perfect bass player for their songs. Cornerstone was one of my favorite albums in my youth. Thanks for posting.

in 1995… I was working in a shop… I was always listening to an old radio and waiting this song… and with this song I was going to the this river in my dream… with peace and love…

Couldn't remember exactly the title of this one song but I know it was a boat. So, I searched "slow rock boat song" and yep this was the song. And now the nostalgia is hitting me hard :')

Cindy. I agree. This song, and others, have a lilting etherealness that somehow seems to give meaning to a sliver of of time in our lives that only music with special lyrics can do. I completely agree, although I may be a couple of yours younger being born in 91.
I would listen to this song over and over on my walkman. All those years have passed so fast :(
wow, i was thinking the exact same thing this morning while listening to Rainbow's Stargazer :(
@@evaglykou6978 They were good days :(

Time fly's my friend. thank god we have good music from the past !
Masterpiece. ALLWAYS LOVE IT ! Thank you STYX
Fantastic song. Not something I LOVED but appreciate the combo therefore the ultimate sound is brilliant.
And words, and the idea, and the sense - all is fantastic.

No autotune, just real voice and real music.
70s and 80s it was only autotune my friend
@@steftzimas3473 Auto-tune was invented in 1997, my friend.
This video was lip sync'd. No microphones seen...the audio definitely that of studio recording.
If they "hot mic'd" this....reverb echo would've been heard.
Fantastic band...!
This was the studio version, not played live. He’s not even pretending to sing into a microphone!
Styx is great.
It was great times everyone was there. Soul is there, love is there. Not like nowadays.
John is not the bass player. Chuck Panozzo is. And I hear a TUBA in the music too.
@@cosmosbeing2103 you're correct about Chuck.
on 1980 s, turkish tv gives this song very lot. very nice song.

Fine musicianship! Not many bands at all today have this wonderful ability! Thank you Styx!
I haven't heard this song for such a long time. What a great tune. Tommy's an excellent singer.
One of the greatest songs of the early 80s, I think. I still like it very much.
Actually 1979 - close
When music was real and good.
Ciao questa canzone per me è particolarmente triste .. riascoltandola mi ha portato indietro nel buio dei ricordi. Purtroppo soffro ancora ... Ma siete grandi

лоза рыдает. один. на плоской земле.
My neighbour's playing music and I had a major flashback of when I was really young and listening to my dad's collection. Couldn't remember exactly the title of this one song but I know it was a boat. So, I searched "slow rock boat song" and yep this was the song. And now the nostalgia is hitting me hard :')
В этом хите сошлось всё: голоса, музыка...

J'adore cette sublime chanson. Elle a de belles influences musicales italiennes et grecques. Cette chanson me fait vraiment du bien à l'âme. C'est un pur chef d'oeuvre.❤
This song has always moved me in a way no other song ever has. That feeling you get with one or two songs in a lifetime. Tommy Shaw vocals are mesmerizing. Together with harmonizing of Dennis, it is one beautiful song!
Cindy. I agree. This song, and others, have a lilting etherealness that somehow seems to give meaning to a sliver of of time in our lives that only music with special lyrics can do. I also find that Damn Yankees 'Silence is Broken" somehow grabs me. The instrumentation, lyrics, and vocals just make it special.
This is the first song that made me develop interest in foreign music (in English language).
