Love it, I was already experimenting a lot with arpeggiated drums and percussion but this gives me a lot of ideas to expand my workflow on that direction
I've always wondered how this candy was made, you've definitely stumbled across something epic. Thank you for resisting your urge to keep it to yourself!
I used to do it manually, since the glitch music heyday, circa 2000-2002. At some point, I was recording everything in the house, and ended up with a great percussion sound library. Great tips.
Ha! Awesome, I was just thinking about some random sampling to add to Dj sets. This might be just what I am looking for. Also, I didn't even need to grab my earbuds for this video. You kept me lazy on the couch. Lol
bomboclad video man! I suse the slice by transient in simpler all of the time but your simpler + random + note echo tipp makes it even more creative and fun! thanks!
amazing! Bonobo did this all by hand though, there used to be a video of him making kong in cubase, he zoomed in and placed all the different hats and cymbals etc individually. Changed my whole perspective on whats possible if you take the time.
Stellar tip!!! Stimming is big on recorded shakers and percussion (often homemade) and I've been wanting to give it a go. This video has given me even more reason to setup the mic and bang a few pots and play the spoons! Can't wait to roll my sleeves up and dive in. Thank you Oscar. 😊
Otomo is such a great track. The way the different metallic percussions blend together with the Bulgarian choir sample is truly creative. I use Cakewalk, which doesn't have the same tools as Live, but I've been able to use Sitala to organize sounds manually and I'm really starting to like this style of making percussion. Thank you for all your tutorials!
Man, I have to tell you that I really like your chanel. I started following it when I switched from fl to ableton to make techno. So coming here you could say I was a propper rookie. Your videos in which you explain everything in detail (I specifically remeber the way you explained parallel effects) gave me a huge conceptual understanding of how to use a DAW. Even your more hands on stuff was amazingly uncolored musically. Like providing your clients with studio monitors instead of bass boosted mixes. Your personality reminds me of what phare ll tries to be but can't become casue he got too much ego hahahaha.
I haven’t watched your videos for months but always loved them. Checked this out and instantly inspired me to make some more music. Thanks for everything you do man
@@somerabbit It's been so long I can't clearly remember haha - I suggest trying out the Stochas sequencer (free vst plugin). It can introduce random elements and patterns to your midi sequences.
Wow this is great Oscar! I always love watching your videos for inspiration on new techniques and to have more fun with music production. Thank you for another Banger video!
I see bonono and sample recordings and i hit subscribe. Also it's nice to stop watching gear review and actually learning music production techniques. Thank you.
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your gold nugget tips! Totally see why it would be one to keep to oneself. Really generous of you to share the knowledge and we appreciate it so much!
Try this: Take the drum rack and load every cell with a random sample. Place an arpeggiator on that channel, then place an effect such as Rift or Portal after the drum rack. Then, take a few max for live LFO devices and switch them to Random. Map one of the LFOs to the arp rate, then go crazy with mapping various LFO shapes and rates to anything within those effects. Doesn’t have to be portal or rift, you can use anything you’d like. Big tip: when doing this open the drum racks chain window, hit cntrl + A, and set the Choke to “1”. Also, set the arp to “Random Other”. Make sure the piano roll has a legato note for each sample for this to work! Run for 20 minutes and render-in-place. Enjoy!

❤️🥰

Great vid!
I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more Albanian cowbell.
Oh giving up the gravy now. Good stuff.
On the Glass Animals breakdown, he asked us what artists we want him to cover, and I said Bonobo! I take full credit for the Bonobo inclusion here!!!
:D
entitlement, is that the word?)
@@na4ito Yes I made a request, and it was soon granted, I acted as if it were because of me that we got the video.

Damn that random+midi delay+ instrument rack thing is so potent, thank you, beautiful thinking!
Mega cool Tip! Thanks!
Another addition to my collection! 🤯

I was just in the gym daydreaming about a technique like this. Came home and here you were!
Awesome, Oscar!!! Thank you!!!
Since you decided to share that insight instead of keep to yourself you earned a new sub..thank you

Great stuff as always. Thank you for sharing your "secrete sauce", now I know what to do with my wife's collection of farm bells.
This has just given me a sick idea to create some percussion loops using FL in a way I wouldn't have thought of before, yes Oscar.
Slicex and piano roll? Or is there a better way to do this?
@@-plumbus Haha, love the name! Plumbuses rule!

That's wild, I haven't seen that!
@@OscarUnderdog sadly he removed it, he used a lot of PSP plugins at the time and different layers of fx loops which he cut and reversed etc.
This is fantastic. Thank you!
Love what one can do with a sampler and some imagination.
This. Just wow. Bonobo inspired me to produce what I do now. Seeing this just opened up so much and answered so many questions!
Very cool. That transient slicer saves a lot of clickwork. Thanks Oscar 🙂

Sounds very similar to granular synthesis. Great tutorial! Thanks!
