I would have scooped out all the floating stuff before draining the pool.
I feel soooo bad but I was already laughing before he knew the water was too deep. Just as he got to the first corner of the deep end I could see it go over the top of the waders at his back. Then a few seconds later is when he noticed. It's funny cus you could see it happen a few seconds before he would find out haha The man has commitment to the job, that's for sure.
They do a lot of goofing around. I hope they charge by the job and not the hour!

There was a tv show in the US called Dirty Jobs. This one would have been great on that show.

Why don’t you use a pump for heavily soiled waste water? Like „spechtenhauser Chiemsee“? We use it in our fire brigade, works good so far.

That creepy round grate drain in the deep end NOPE!. I have a paralysing fear of underwater drains, jets, light, pipes, and don't even get me started on wave machines, bathtub spa's and pools with windows 😱I don't swim in pools much anymore, people look at me weird even when I'm just low key trying to evaluate the best possible position in the pool to minimize a spike in anxiety levels (It usually ends up being the stairs) with looks of death should anyone even THINK of pulling me in, now I just stick to the beach. Ironically I have a mad fascination for the restorations of these neglected pools. You guys always do a magnificent job, heya from Sydney

Try one filled with leaves and branches. Better yet, 4 feet of mud and swamp grass and 4 feet of sludge. How about 250 coi fish and two feet of sludge. How about tadpoles. About 3000 bullfrog tadpoles. How about having to use a 3" trash pump for months at a time. We wore out 3 pumps in one year. Only saw one snake in two years in New Orleans, Louisiana after Katrina.

one thing that would terrify me with those sloshers is falling over and filling up with heavy water, especially putrid water like that. Lord the smell would be 1000 fold worse.

A SEWAGE VACUUM TRUCK WOULD MAKE YOUR JOB EASY
I believe a sewage pump truck would have made an easier job of the muck removal.
I guess it don't smell too bad if you can still eat and drink something while you're there I wouldn't be able to stomach food if I smell something nasty and tried to eat while on the side so it probably don't smell as horrible as they say it does either that or they've been there so long that they've done burned away their smell receptors

I dont get it. Those look like posh houses/ a house around the pool , so why dont they spend the money on maintaining it instead of letting it fall into disrepair like that. The plaster seriously looks like it needs redoing as does the tile work. Do you guys do that type of work as well (construction/ repair/renovation)?

Put some Vicks on your nostrils. It really helps with bad smells.
