You can also rotate the pivot without validating, snap 45 degrees also works for the pivot.

Yep! Nowadays though for keys, I usually just extrude with the mask a bit….either circular or square. I wind up gluing the keys and cuts anyway, and sand down if they don’t fit perfectly!

Would you use this technique for parts you want to 3d print seperately and have fit perfectly? For example, I'm horrible at painting... especially eyes on characters, could I do this with my eye to have a perfect hole to then glue it into?
