Aww man that’s a bummer. E36 definitely feels like a big go cart but e46 M3 still handles great and has that “modern” look to it, don’t lose hope you’ll mis the e46 days aswell!
Clean E36, but E36 M3s with the factory spoiler actually do have the rear window break light as well. And that short shifter looks like the ZHP shirt shifter.
Alex Kichigin to be honest, I’m not quite sure. My first car was an E36 M3 Sedan that my dad gave me when I turned 16, it was his car originally but I asked him to save it for me when he got his new car. When he ordered it from the dealership he ordered a silver one with the 5 speed manual, spoiler, and the Harmon Kardon system. He waited 3 months and when he went to pick it up, it didn’t have the spoiler so he turned it down and said he’d wait until they had one specked out exactly like he had ordered. Another month went by and they called him and said they had one in just like he wanted, the only difference was it was cosmos black, not silver. He finally gave and told them he’d come get it. Our M3 always had the rear brake light as well as the one within the spoiler itself. Now that you’re mentioning the fact that that was usually never the case, I’m starting to wonder if the dealer put it on at the dealership to get my dad into the car? We noticed a year after owning it, it didn’t have the Harmon Kardon system he paid for either, so who knows at this point. Maybe it was end right meant to have the rear windshield brake light.

Is the BOV hooked up to the turbo manifold? I'm wondering if it's possible to run a custom one on the cold side connected to the charge pipe. I was thinking, weld the intercooler piping to cut out all possibilities of leaks and have a BOV custom fit?
What would you recommend for someone looking to turbo their e36? I already have upgraded suspension, cooling, etc, just want to squeeze some more power out of my m50

Hi Alex. From what I've gathered, you're using a technique tuning kit with a SPA manifold? If that is correct, why the SPA manifold and not the TT one? I'm looking at replacing my TT manifold for the superior SPA one, but concerned about my pre existing plumbing and how it will or will not fit. Can you tell me more about the manifold and its positioning in relation to the TT one if you had it at some point? Thanks.
This is almost a complete CES tuning kit with the exception of the twin scroll on the turbo and steed speed twin scroll manifold. I went with SPA only because it was “the next best thing” and had decent flow. Only thing you’ll need to do before putting it on your engine is porting out the wastegate hole as much as possible. Otherwise you’ll run into boost creep issues like I did. Fitment wise this manifold didn’t require any other shaving or modifying with a GT3582R turbo with a 1.06 AR exhaust housing.
How bad was the insurance when you were younger? I’m 16 and thinking about possibly getting an e36 m3 but I’m hesitant as I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for insurance.
It’s honestly not bad. For a half a year the car stood while I was doing bushings and other little stuff so by the time I was putting it on insurance I was almost 17
E36 m3s have gone up in value. They were so cheap for so long that all the kids who have crashed them raised rates on the m3. You will be looking at around $100 a month strictly for liability insurance at 16.

My dads has 600Hp but has factory engine, im tellin him to do more work to the car but he says thats the car cant handle it and cant go past 15 pounds of boost.

Hey, I just picked up a 93 525i. What kind of maintenance would you suggest I start with? I’ve done plugs and coils, oil change, and I’m about to do the exhaust. The previous owner didn’t know what they were doing with the exhaust and there are welds all over the muffler even though it’s all rusted out. Any info would help!
I would start with checking the engine gaskets and then doing all the bushings and ball joints. Then switch over to the suspension. DO NOT GET MAXOEEDING RODS! can’t cheap out in suspension. Then I would do tires.
Can’t really answer that question. Any maintenance I ever did was set towards an upgrade. Bad suspension? Upgrade to coil overs. Bad bushings? Upgrade to poly, etc. I would say to buy an e36 with all bushings and suspension dead, it would depend on (1) the model (2) what you’re going for and (3) budget or what you’re willing to spend.

My blow off valve is on the cold side, in between the inter cooler and MAF sensor that goes to intake manifold
There are designs on CES tubing turbo kits that are running waste gates on their steed speed manifold
That is actually a 318is steering wheel, the best one they made, the rest feels and look like you are steering a boat.
