- Biolizard's theme from SA2 With lyrics cuz it actually has some if you listen hard enough. Biolizard is Shadow's sergougate "older sibling" Because when you fight this thing I don't know if it is a boy or a girl or not because it lays eggs and throws them at you and then Homochao calls it a boy. So Shadow is sort of like Biolizard,s baby brother.
Gerald studied the Echidna civilization. It's how he found out about the Chaos Emeralds and their shrine (that he recreated on the ARK), Chaos (which he based the Artificial Chaos on), the Gizoid (Emerl) and the prophecy of Super Sonic seen in Hidden Palace Zone in S3&K. He based Shadow's design on the prophecy of Super Sonic (who was depicted in space with a man that looked like him holding what looked like a Chaos Emerald).
Black Doom couldn't recreate Shadow without Gerald.
The popular theory is that professor Gerald was inspired by the mural and stories about Chaos. Biolizard would be based on the mural of Perfect Chaos and Shadow on Super Sonic. It'd also explain why he made the artificial Chaos that are all around ARK.
More so to see the potential of Healing his beloved niece.
And how he has a recreation of the master emerald shrine on the ark.

And that theory is now seemingly canon, thanks to the upcoming Shadow X Sonic Generations, where pre-orders include Gerald Robotnik's journal about his visits to Angel Island.
God I miss the old sonic team. This song has so many layers, the fight itself as well as this boss music itself with both its lyrics and name. Crafted with such love and care. Telling a story all its own. I wish Sega could put THIS much effort into its story telling. I miss this. From the bottom of my heart I miss this.

My god, these lyrics are like almost the biolizard begging you to kill it, to not lose to it.
I always interpreted it as shadow realizing that he was breaking his promise to Maria the whole time and was willing to fix things by any means necessary.

117thlegacy: Shadow was meant to die at the end of SA2 but proved so popular that they revived him in Heroes. That's also why Shadow the hedgehog was made. Shadow did reach earth but was captured by GUN and frozen. It seems Gerald modified his memories in order to use him in his plan to drop the ARK on earth. ANd there were no pods, everyone besides Gerald was killed and they claimed Maria was alive to keep him loyal.
As much as I like the Shadow as a character, he would have been better off staying dead like E-102 Gamma.

Nah, the future stuff like Sonic Heroes, Shadow the hedgehog, Team Dark and Sonic 06 wouldn't be the same with him dead.

If anything, Shadow the Hedgehog is kinda SA3 or at least SA2.5 seeing as it takes place sometime after SA2
It makes sense that the prototype Ultimate Lifeform is a lizard. Gerald wanted to cure Maria's fatal disease, and lizards have regenerative properties. But that failed, then he met an alien overlord and... wait, what?

For real, Lizards do have regenerative abilities, and we know Gerald researched immortality because of Maria's fatal disease, known as NIDS, which causes the victim to become weak and fragile. Sound familiar? That's because the Biolizard had to have been injected with NIDS to test it's purpose, immortality, but the Biolizard's organs failed and needed to be put on life support, that is quite inconvenient, impractical to say the least. So he switched by basing his design on the Echidna shrine, blah blah, Shadow was born. Let's ignore the dumbass alien stuff, that wasn't planned and it certainly doesn't add (or, hell, remove) any aspects of the story. But there ya go, lizards son!
@@Densester we also have in one the older sonic games that there was an ancient prophecy mural in the old chaos shrines that showed super sonic fighting perfect chaos. Its very possible that Gerald infact based shadow on this mural and thats why shadow (in universe at least) why he already looks super form. As for black doom getting involved....well as stupid as it was its clearly able to be inferred that after Biolizard failed to be able to make the cure for maria and mind you biolizard is the 23rd prototype subject. Its very possible gerald was beyond desperate for ANYTHING to work to save maria especially after so many failures, G.U.N. breathing down his neck probably getting tired for results on the immortality that project shadow was supposed to create and the only thing he showed them was the chaos drives, artificial chaos, and the eclipse canon blueprints and a mutated lizard thats in constant pain, which at least satisfied them for the time being due to the potential of having a deathstar weapon on hand. At this point i think its where black doom showed up and gave gerald his blood and made the deal with him to sell out the planet. Gerald having made shadow and then perhaps even seeing results that were very promising to save maria of her NIDS he was at least still sane enough to make his backup plan to utilize the eclipse canon to be able to destroy the comet for when BD came to collect on his deal. For a while he helped raise shadow for an undetermined amount of time, and maria was somewhat showing signs of recovering albeit its probably very slow to adapt an alien dna made super hedgehogs super healing DNA to a sick humans. Someone on geralds team leaked what gerald was doing and thus GUN stormed the place killed and imprisoned everyone on board and maria was injured from a gunshot as shadow tried to help her escape. As this was happening gerald unable to find maria and shadow he unleashed the biolizard from stasis to keep GUN busy and eventually they put it back to sleep but by then gerald found out maria died from her wound and shadow was lost in GUNs control. Gerald then in his last ditch effort gave up on life and programmed the colony ark to drop on earth once the emeralds were used and then programmed the biolizard to keep the colony on collision course incase that failed.

@@marsgo8938 late response, but Chaos Drives are those devices that fall off GUN robots when you destroy them- they're likely their energy source.
Artificial Chaos are those copies of Chaos (from Sonic Adventure 1) that you can find all over the ARK levels

So let me get this straight, the Biolizard was the original Ultimate Lifeform but ended up being a failed project due to its violent nature and was left to be forgotten foreign until the events of SA2. Now he has a grudge against Humanity and becomes one with the ARK and tries to destroy the Earth. Did I miss anything?

Well seeing that it can hardly survive out of that room or without the robotic enhancements and the fact that shadow still killed it shows the real victor. I mean what would you choose: limited mobility no sight and the lifespan for about a week living in agony or travel at the speed of sound with an unlimited life span but lower defence.
Eggman sent a robot to rescue him while he was falling from the ARK. Shadow was unconscious so he kept him in stasis and used him as a template for an army of robot clones. Rouge later stumbled upon him and released him. Shadow had amnesia so he couldn't remember anything and later ended up thinking that he was a robot.clone. Then Shadow the Hedgehog happened and everything got sorted out.
It could be Metal Sonic who saved Shadow since everything that roboticized fucker did in Adventure was to recharge.

I thought the biolizard is Shadow youngest sibling due to the fact that Shadow is the original ultimate lifeform.
Remember G.U.N made a deal with Gerald to make a ultimate weapon in exchange for a medicine that could cure Maria rare disease in which could no breath on Earth (Hence why she lived in the space colony Ark)
Black comet and the creation of Shadow is what made G.U.N go back on the deal in which they imprisoned The doctor, killed all his worker, and his granddaughter who was help Shadow escape from the agency that wanted him for their own use. Since Gun couldn't get Shadow they forced Gerald to create another ultimate weapon which is the biolizard who programmed to destroy Earth
As for the theme, the team wanted to give the lyrics a lost audio distorted feature. This why it are hard to make out the lyrics but in a way it works
Nah. The Biolizard was the original. All that crap with the aliens was a retcon. Originally it was a refrence to the mystic ruins in Angel Island from SA1 and S3&K.
I love this, as I love all Sonic music.

Simply put he's just the first version of the ultimate life form project. Gerald was using the ultimate life form studies to cure her granddaughter: Maria so she could be on earth. Since Maria would die if she was there, hence the ARK. Gerald made a design for the original life form based on an ancient echidna mural he's seen. One depicting perfect chaos and a hedgehog charged by chaos energy. The biolizard was based on perfect chaos in the mural and shadow was based on the hedgehog charged by chaos energy.

If you have seen the show land of list monsters you see a lizard known as megalania which grately resembles biolizard they both were giant reptiles and the both died horrifically due to human evils does any one else see the connection? Not to mention the show and this game were created at a similar time. Weird.

Well, they made the biolizard to test a cure to Maria's incurable sickness (it's inspired by aids) then the biolizard started to be a aggressive and imortal then they locked it and started working in a rational immortal life form that is smaller because Maria is a normal kid

Biolizard is supposed to be a monitor lizard like a megalania. But this show makes her look like a dinosaur not to mention an evil robot. She was a living intelligent creature created to help people. Just because she was a reptile does it mean she is evil. The game was gruesome having her rotting necrotizing body (due to the loss of her ventilator) impaled over the eclipse cannon as she writhes and contorts screaming in agony. Giant pus filled abscesses cover her body and you must impale these buboes to kill her in the cartoon she just blows up but in the game pus and lymph spray out of her entire body not to mention there would have been a lot of blood if these games did not have to be censored so dramatically. It's really sad she could have been s beautiful creature if she was not used as an expiriment and brainwashed by her ruined creator.
She also tried to kill shadow, everybody's favorite sonic character. That means death sentence

The creature is one of my favorite characters because if not for sa2 I would have not figured out that reptiles and by extension plants have feelings so I owe a lot the the character.

Shadow's story confuses me a lot. If he's introduced and then killed off in this game, why does he get his own game, Shadow the Hedgehog? Is there another Shadow? I remember part of the story, when Maria sent Shadow to Earth in a pod, there were other pods that were released, not just his. Am I wrong?
Eggman saved shadow just before he dies. He was barely clinging to life but survived with amnesia. Eggman also created robotic clones of shadow. You can find a bit more lore to his story in sonic heroes.
