Classical music, as repetivite as it might be sometimes, is so intriciate and elaborate that you can listen to it a million times and never fully predict every phrase, thus preventing it from ever feeling boring. It's incredible.
I don't play classical music in any style or with any instrument BUT when I listen to this Baroque music I start twitching my head like the artists do when they play their instruments live.

that moment when you are done with studying for today, enjoying classical music and having time to read comments of others who waste their time to write comments like this instead of studying. YES I AM TALKING TO YOU
Classical music isn't for studying, peasant, it's for listening and enjoying. I pity the fools who don't turn the volume all the way up and enjoy the sound of animals and running brooks when they hear Vivaldi's Spring.
this makes me want to put on a gown, drink tea from tiny teacups, have a stroll through a palace, and take part in a revolution to overthrow the monarchy ✨
So, you'll be overthrowing YOURSELF? Revolutionaries wouldn't have gowns or tiny teacups, and aren't allowed to 'stroll through a palace'. Revolutionaries would be the poor dirty peasants starving to death...
There is more honesty in baroque than in other genres. I feel like it represents truthfully. Represents beauty truthfully. I think because it feels like the patterns of nature. To me. When you study leaves close up on a sunny day, the language you feel sounds like this.
i tried looking on spotify for some wonderful baroque music, but all the playlists had a mix of a select few 18th/19th century pieces and the rest were the scores to period pieces from the 90s and 00s... thank you for having common sense

Baroque music does that! I remember as a first-year music major (around age 19) back then in college how one of my courses was music history and music appreciation and I loved it. All the classical music is quite appealing. I enjoy it when working and even more when I am writing research. Good stuff, indeed!
Excellent music! For those smugging about listening to baroque music, chill out! Just searching for "baroque" in youtube and clicking on the first video doesn't make you superior to everyone else. If you like the music, just enjoy!
Yeah I did exactly that to see what the first piece would be for someone discovering Baroque for the first time. But I think all these pretentious comments would only deter people by reinforcing the stereotypes about baroque/classical music that exist in modern society! Nobody wants be associated with smug elitists!
"A recent paper in the American Psychological Association journal Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences identified a relationship between intelligence and music sans lyrics. "We found intelligence to be a significant predictor of the preference for instrumental music, but not of the preference for vocal-instrumental music," reads the study abstract. Researchers from Oxford Brookes University surveyed and tested 467 Croatian high school students to assess their smarts, their preferred type of music, and how they use music. The result was that students who scored higher in intelligence were associated with an ear for wordless music genres like big band, classical, and ambient or chill electronica. Another finding was that students who listened to music cognitively--that is, for the enjoyment of analyzing or appreciating the composition or technique--also preferred instrumental music. While the work finds a connection between intelligence and a preference for instrumentals, the authors acknowledge that the research has its limitations because individuals tend to be complicated piles of characteristics. "Intelligence is only one of the constructs connected to musical preferences, there are many others, such as personality traits, gender, age, degree of education, and family income," study co-author Elena Racevska told PsyPost. So does listening to Beethoven, Coltrane, or Tycho make you smarter? No, that's definitely not what this research says. But it does seem to suggest that if you are a highly intelligent person, you're more likely to enjoy getting down to jams without all the noise from those silly vocals." If you would like more research or published references that indicate people of higher intelligence listen to instrumental music, and people with lower IQ listen to rap music let me know.
@Jaxon I don't specialise in this subject, but I did a lengthy study on music and it's effect on living things years ago, I found out some interesting things this being one. The most interesting things I saw were death metal music makes plants die, positive music seems to make them grow bigger, and a Japanese study of water molecules showed when ice is formed under the influence of sound, positive sounds formed pretty uniform ice crystals and negative sounds created messy disorganised ice crystals. You should look into the Japanese ice crystal study its amazing.

I listened 100 times without getting bored
Classical music, as repetivite as it might be sometimes, is so intriciate and elaborate that you can listen to it a million times and never fully predict every phrase, thus preventing it from ever feeling boring. It's incredible.
Jeeves! Bring the car around post-haste! This piece makes me fancy a journey about the countryside.
As they say, if it ain't Baroque, don't fix it.
No not a pun, why?!?!?!?!?
I love a good pun. Well done.
Telle me more "ha ha".
there are 2 types of comments..
You mean, if it IS Baroque dont fix it!
I don't play classical music in any style or with any instrument BUT when I listen to this Baroque music I start twitching my head like the artists do when they play their instruments live.
That's because we lived in that era. We reincarnated. We remember the music, the art, etc from the era
I did too
Baroque music is so...HEAVENLY!!!

Elizabeth I would be much more accurate, since she ruled till 1603 and the baroque era was c.1600 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The twist though, went from aristocratic heaven into communist uprising
So, you'll be overthrowing YOURSELF? Revolutionaries wouldn't have gowns or tiny teacups, and aren't allowed to 'stroll through a palace'. Revolutionaries would be the poor dirty peasants starving to death...
I hope you realize with that scenario, you ARE the monarchy
Do not be a fool, the monarchy will remain.
Good news! The monarchy got overthrown last Tuesday! The bad news is that the king doesn't seem to get the message that he's been given his pink slip.

There is more honesty in baroque than in other genres. I feel like it represents truthfully. Represents beauty truthfully. I think because it feels like the patterns of nature. To me. When you study leaves close up on a sunny day, the language you feel sounds like this.

But my good sir, we are all superior to people who listen to Gangster rap. scientifically proven.
But it does seem to suggest that if you are a highly intelligent person, you're more likely to enjoy getting down to jams without all the noise from those silly vocals."
If you would like more research or published references that indicate people of higher intelligence listen to instrumental music, and people with lower IQ listen to rap music let me know.
@Jaxon Look up Dr Masaru Emoto, and his work into water and sound frequency.
I like classical music very much. When I listen to it, I feel very happy and focused for reading the book. Epecically, piano violin and guitar.
