Satinder Sartaj is a blessing, his narations, writings and projects bring out the real essence of history. I bet every Sikh had his eyes wet while hearing Zafarnama. I prey everyday to be completely fearless and righteous just as Guru Gobind Singh Ji wanted everyone to be.
Just to clarify if anyone has a doubt - The lyrics presented in this video are the actual words written by Tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Singh. Dr. Satinder Sartaj is just singing the lyrics but he is not the author of the letter. Dr. Sartaj sung and composed the music and all that. The Lyrics are composed by the Tenth Guru.
Dr Satinder Sartaj know Persian (farsi), hindi, Punjabi, English languages and zafarnama written in Persian language My grandfather also know this language
This zafarnamah was written in persian language by guru gobind singh ji because at that time persian language was administrative language and guru himself knew many languages. This is sung by satinder sartaj in persian with same wordings written by guru ji (punjabi subtitles above) and english subtitles below) so even punjabies can understand it as persian is no more spoken in india.
The letter was written in persian because it was a language aurengzeb could understand. Guru Gobind Singh Ji knew may languages including Sanskrit, Urdu, Hindi, Braj, Gurmukhi, and Persian
20:00 the emperor was not an atheist, even he believe in God a lot, as he was doing all the five prayers (Nmaaz) in a day which Muslim people do. This letter destroyed him just because he believe in God. If he was an atheist, this letter never affects him or anyone who is atheist. The problem with him was that he believe that he is a great Muslim, but in reality he was not a true Muslim and thats why he saw his real face through the letter and he never wake up again. He was completely broke from inside after reading the letter.

Guys previous one was a tribute to original zafarnama and this one version sung by satinder sartaj is original zafarnama he is singing the original words of guru gobind singh ji
The lyrics Sartaj is singing are exact words of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This letter describes a little bit story of "battle of Chamkaur". Guru Ji were in fort, Aurangzeb was sitting outside fort with more than 10 lakh, cutting all the supplies and food from outside. Even when he couldn't win the fort, he made promise that no one will be harmed, he just want is that Guru Ji and his few sikhs(there were men, children and women as well)(this is where Guru Ji's younger two sons and Guru Ji's mother got separated and finally got caputered by Aurangzeb with the help of a traitor called Gangu) should leave the fort. I recommend you watch the movie that'll help you make sense of things. Yeah! This lyrics are the exact words of Guru Ji (in Persian, ) and the other one reaction you did before was just the overview and summary of letter or you can say just the song made out of The Letter in Punjabi ( so Punjabi's could understand what is in the Letter). Great work. Love you guys❤️❤️
The battle started in Anandpur Sahib which was the power center for the Sikhs and the Guru and his family resided there along with Sikh armies. The mughals and the rajput kings of the hills surrounding Anandpur Sahib attacked the city to finish the nascent Sikh power in 1704. They had defeats in many battles during the direct attacks. When direct attacks failed, the mughals laid a seige to the city which lasted over 8 months. Aurangzeb then sent a letter to the Guru saying that he takes an oath on Koran that no one will be harmed if they leave the city. The Sikhs can come back to the city after some time. The food and water situation inside the city was dire. So against the advice of the Guru and on orders of the Panj Payare, it was decided that Sikhs would leave the city. The withdrawal happened in Dec. 1705 and they were immediately attacked by the mughals. This break of promise is what is mentioned in Zafarnama and the Guru is reminding Aurangzed that he himself had said that if he breaks the promise, may he not be able to go to heaven. This is what verse 13-18 refers to in Zafarnama. It was also raining heavily that night and a river (called Sarsa) had to be crossed. In the commotion, the Sikh enclave got split. The Guru, his two elder sons, 5 Panj Piyare and 40 Sikhs went to Chamkaur Sahib, a place where they had previously fought a victorious battle and knew well. They took a defensive position there. Guru's mother and his two younger sons (aged 9 and 6) went towards a town called morinda where they were betrayed and captured. The two younger sons were asked to convert to islam which they refused and they were executed in Sirhind. There is mention of this too in Zafarnama when the Guru asks what is the logic behind executing kids. Mughal forces in very large numbers followed the Sikhs to Chamkaur Sahib and a ferocious battle was fought there lasting three days. There were only a handful of Sikhs fighting 100's of thousands of forces. This battles is also mentioned in Zafarnama (40 fought against million phrase). Guru's elder sons along with 3 Panj Payara's achieved martydom here. Again on the order of the Sikhs, the Guru left in the night towards Machiwara so that he could reassemble Sikh forces. This is the battle referred to in verses 19-41. This battle can be seen as the turning point as tired, handful Sikhs fought against an orders of larger magnitude force and the Sikhs also saw how the Guru treated an ordinary disciple like his own sons. It created a bond which still lasts today. We still say today that for us, the Guru sacrificed his whole family. The Guru used to say that every Sikh of his is equal to 125,000 ordinary men. That was proven during this battle and and created an immense sense of self-confidence. The Guru escaped to a village called Dina where he penned Zafarnama which is basically a reply to the letter Aurangzeb had written to him. Verses 42-70 again talk about the broken promise but since Aurangzeb in his letter had asked the Guru to meet him, he offers Aurangzeb to come and meet him in a village called Kasur and if he decides to, the Guru promises no harm will come to him. Aurangzeb in his letter had also asked the Guru to gift Aurangzeb 1000 gold coins on which he will give the Guru governorship of an area. Guru laughs at this saying he is a sovreign and directly under the Lord and will never be a slave to a human and he mocks the ruler. This is what is described in verses 42-70. In verses 71-75, the Guru again describes the qualities of the Lord and how the Lord protects the weak. In verses 76-88, the Guru tells Aurangzeb of the qualities a good king should have saying a good leader will never harm the weak but protect them. The leader should effectively develop the qualities of Lord. He also reminds him that don't think he has achieved anything by killing his four sons. His Khalsa is still strong, like a cobra, ready to strike. He basically says that all Aurangzeb has done is extinguish a few sparks of fire but fanned the flames in doing so. The martydom of his sons proved to be a catalyst which build the first Sikh kingdom within a few years of this. In verses 89-94, the Guru tells Aurangzeb that he has good administrator qualities, good fighting qualities, using which he has become the ruler of India, but he is far from righteousness. In verses 95-111, he reminds Aurangzeb that though he was attacked by a much larger force, the Lord was on his side because he is righteous and protected him. Aurangzeb goes after collecting wealth, whereas the Guru goes after trying to collect love. Because of that difference, even a single of his hair cannot be harmed. This is where the letter ends. Following the writing of this letter, the Guru started remaking the Sikh army. 40 Sikhs had left him in Anandpur during the first war due to the dire situation. When they returned to their village, they were shamed by the women there and decided to rejoin the Guru under the leadership of a woman, Mai Bhago Kaur ji. The Guru with a very small entrouge was heading south west to where he had more followers. Mughals again attacked and the 40 Sikhs under the leadership of Mai Bhago Kaur ji arrived in time and came in between the mughals and the Guru's position. This lead to the battle of Mukatsar Sahib where these 40 Sikh men plus one woman again fought a ferocious battle and defeated the much larger mughal army. All the 40 Sikh men were martyred. Mai Bhago Kaur was severely injured but survived and became a general in the Guru's army. This was the last battle the Guru fought. After this battle, the mughals gave up and sought to make peace with the Guru. Following the demise of the Guru and at Guru's orders, his follower Banda Singh Bahudar collected Sikh forces and attacked and defeated the governor of Sirhind where the 2 youngest sons were martyred. He then went on to form the first Sikh kingdom in 1710 and removed the feudal system making the land tillers as land owners. So from being reduced to ~ 40 fighting sikhs in Dec. 1705, sikhs became rulers of large part of panjab by 1710 and the effect of many initiatives taken during this time are still felt today. Zafarnama was written when objectively speaking, any one would think that the Guru was in his lowest point in life, having lost his family, lost 3 of the 5 original Panj payare's, Sikhs forces totally wiped out and dispersed. But if you read the letter, it is written in such strong spirit which then went on to generate confidence among the sikh followers that anything is achievable and achieve, they did.

He conducted mass conversions and killed those who stood up against oppression.Sikhs stood up against injustice in the north and were the only rebellious force in the north. They broke the back of Mughals and taught a lesson that numbers are not all that matter 🙏
they didnt break shit. Aurangzeb was running through everyone, the only reason Mughal Empire fell off was because of his bum sons and Nadir Shah from Iran fucked them bad.

This letter was written by Guru Gobind Singh ji and after reading this letter Aurangzeb (Mughal emperor)(King of India) died in few days due to dipression ..
The last video that you saw was not the actual letter, it was a poetic and theatrical rendition of it. In this video however, Satinder Sartaj is reading the exact letter in Persian language written by Guru Gobind Singh Ji (the reason why it says "/Punjabi" in the title is because the translation of the letter is also provided in Punjabi which appears above the English subtitles as you see). Guru ji begins the letter by praising God, and then carries on to talk about the emporer Aurangzeb and how much of a tyrant the emporer is. Also, to your question about whether Guru Gobind Singh Ji is a king or not, he was not in the political sense, but moreso in the religious sense - i.e. King of the Sikhs and messenger from God. ... Also, thank you for covering your heads, and yes you can show further respect if you want to by joining your hands together when remembering Guru Gobind singh Ji (or any other Guru) and his family (who we as Sikhs treat as our family). One more thing, the movie is called "Chaar Sahibzaadey", not Chaar Salibad :) (just a pronunciation error).
Love your videos guys, keep it up! 😊 Persian was also the official language used in the Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh's court, up until the British Empire annexation of Punjab.
Yes, this is the original letter. This was produced in Persian language in collaboration with the embassy of Iran. The other one, in punjabi, was an adaption of this one, more on the violent lines. But this is near original version.

Heyy there! I just realized I'm watching a 3 month old video, maybe you've found the answer to this question but i just wanted to put it here. You mentioned about what battle was it, it can be researched as 'Battle of Chamkaur'. Also, I've said it before too, i really enjoy watching your reactions!💜
This was not happened in Afghanistan but it was that persian language was spoken at that time and many other language's which are not spoken now and punjabi language was not originated at that time

Dr Satinder Sartaj is PhD in Music and as well as in Persian too. He contacted well educated and Historians in Iran before recording and did research on every word. Maybe other Singers have a big fan following than Dr Sartaj but when you listen to this kind of art, you can imagine his level.

You are right
Thank you Ashneet❤️
This is the original writing of Shri Guri Gobind Singh ji! He was great writer as well.
Thanks so much
Love your videos guys, keep it up!

Satinder sartaj is legend!!
Not every Singer can even imagine singing this masterpiece. It Has its religious and historical importance in our Indian History. It is written in Persian. Dr Satinder Sartaj is PhD in Music and as well as in Persian too. He contacted well educated and Historians in Iran before recording and did research on every word. Maybe other Singers have a big fan following than Dr Sartaj but when you listen to this kind of art, you can imagine his level.
