I love you play to the song. You aren’t flashy lake some other UA-cam drummers who out in a million fills where they don’t need to be. You keep that pocket going … all while spinning those sticks. I am jealous of those who can soon sticks that smoothly lol.
Needed you tonight. To remind me what I lost 15 years ago Traumatic Brain Injuries. I’ve never given up. I lost my timing. Crazy thing is I found my inner metronome when you responded to my comments. I was looking at open handed drumming. I had cerebral contusions etc, then a swell, loss of consciousness for extended periods of time. CT scans showed bleeds. Never admitted I could not keep time. But I discovered that I keep time left handed, more accurate left foot is my kick. Right foot is my time keeper. Still the same coordination for hands. Right handed drumming but feet left handed. That’s how my brain synapses reconnected after 15 years of therapy. That time keeping applies to guitar, piano and bass. Switching to left foot timing of beat etc, I heard the correct time. Other interesting development is I score high on age group cognitive tests. Actually above average. Drums keeps you young. I never gave up. Your one of a few drummers who inspired me not to give up. Honestly my DW 9000 double kick peddles are right handed. You can’t change them. So I’m looking at a Peart left handed double kick. I’m just happy dude.🤣So the Neuropsychiatrist who has been using an alternative therapy which has taken me from a walking talking coma to now has never actually looked at a drumming video. Nor in context of age. We’re the same age. Drumming has huge therapeutic possibilities I always believed I would regain function through drumming. Harry from Nashville open handed drumming. I had a job besides music. I was very good at my job.
Iron mike looking snazzy and adding pazzaz with those stick twirls 😎🤘🔥❤👏 I find myself doing them with my right hand when the song or beat is slower and simple(just feels natural)drums are life 😊👌
Very cool, you make it look effortless, love the little fill too! I love the colour cymbals, wouldn't think it's digital and it's great if you did the sound as I suppose it's like tuning normal drums to whatever key - you can play whatever sound you want it like!
Great groove Mike! Generally speaking I would enjoy it a little more though if you upload full song covers. I am not a big fan of just snippets. Also a walkthrough of the Gewa G9 would be quite interesting to be honest. Especially in comparison with the sound of VST drum sounds eg. EZDrummer. For example if the snare has the typical machine gun effect, etc. Thanks for the content and remain active in times like these though! Always enjoyed your playing!
Hello , the clips are short because they are used on my other social media accounts where in most cases the people don't have the attentions span to watch a whole song...haha....but I will upload some full songs in the future. Yes there will be more videos about the workings of the G9 in the near future Thanks for he kind words and Best Wishes !
Well...I have to say the kit feel good, but, but its not exactly the same feel you get from acoustic drums. I can compare it to playing a grand piano as apposed to a synth....its a different instrument so you need to adjust a bit
It took some time to set it up, but this is common for most E kits. Its important top get the trigger setting tailored to your own personal playing style
Mike, got a question: Why do you rotate your left stick? do you do it consciously to "wear it out" evenly over time and avoid braking as many sticks as usual or is it just something you do without reason?
Great videos Mike! Do you feel that moving to electronics takes away the power on your acoustic kit or you have no issues transitioning? I feel that if I play on my electronics for a week, I have a hell of a time getting back to the acoustic kit. I feel weak. Curious how you feel about that.
Hello Paul....its definitely two worlds. I like the G9 for practice and I also plan to use it on some live situations; however, electronic kits do not respond emotionally like acoustic drums, so you need to keep that in mind when performing on them. I think the G9 feels pretty close to a real drum kit, so I don't really have any trouble transitioning from acoustic to electronic, but I do think it's important to keep a good balance between the 2 kits. Best Wishes
Like watching a finely skilled surgeon. Amazing.
the tech is amazing, and the sound is authentic., but nothing is as good as your traditional kit,......you are one of the best ever !!!

Watched several of your videos and you are one hell of a great player. I was hoping to find a how to video with a break down of the sticking.
Thanks Mike, what sticking would you like me to break down? One of the pad Exercises?

You should do a video explain how you spin your drumsticks. You do that so smoothly, I envy that! :D

@@MikeTerranaOfficial I remember watching a video where you explained the usage of some kind of wax in your fingers to enhance drumsticks grip.
