    I just realized that a fire truck would be great in a apocalypse

      Sub To pewdiepie that’s actually an awesome idea. Fire trucks maybe even ambulance and school buses too. Irregular shape and quite durable

      It’s great if you have your Air breaks certificate and know where to get shit loads of fuel. Another problem is it’s very easy to steal gear as those slide up doors don’t have locks

      Is that like everywhere? Because in the UK appliance locker doors have actual locks

      PM08203, once the unit leaves the factory, it's hard for us to get video of the final mounting because the units are often across the country once sold, but if we can snag any photos from the department, we'll be sure to share.

    What a well thought out heavy. Great job, would love to see a video when the unit is in service with all the equipment in it. Well designed heavy, no doubt. Btw, the Whelen warning lights are second to none. Great job with the Freedom Rota Beam light bar. And the M6 Rota Beam heads all over the truck. Great job.

    • @franklewis6943
      @franklewis6943 5 років тому +4

      Ethan, I can't speak for Charlotte FD because I don't know their call statistics, but here in Denver there are days Res1cue barely sits in quarters, so my guess is, CFD's replacing their rescues because it's time to, plain and simple. Engine and truck cos. see lower run total because there're more of them spread across a juristiction, whereas there's fewer specialty apparatus--like rescues--covering that entire area. Wear and tear on such rigs accumulates quicker, thereby necessitating shorter replacement schedules. Again, though, I'm speculating, and whatever the reason here, some department's gonna pick up a nice rescue on the resale market with a lot of years left in it.

      Ethan Wakula They replace trucks every 10 years. The 09s will become reserves and the current 1998 reserves will likely be auctioned off

    • @nickakers7985
      @nickakers7985 5 років тому +3

      CFD trucks are almost always on the road. I live down the way from a fire station, and also work next to another, nearly constantly responding to calls. Not a small town FD by any means.

    • @buildthings79
      @buildthings79 5 років тому +1

      I build fire fighter training props and some of my firefighter customers come to pickup up their units after a 24 shift. One guy told me that he responded to 32 calls in his 24 hr shift. He said they never went back to the station and the truck was running and being used all day and night. Grant it he is in Washington D.C. but that takes a huge toll on equipment and trucks if they are constantly driving over potholes and over curbs in cramped alleys . So a 10 year life span for a truck that can operate 24 hrs a day. A work truck might see half that abuse without the stress of life and death on the line. Not to mention 4 different shifts of people rotating in and out who all drive the truck differently.

      As stated over 100,000 miles in just 3 years lol definitely not a waste in 20 years it would accumulate over 1 million miles. Their rescues get too much run not to replace them as much.

    any reason for the blue cabinet lights vs white or red?

    • @SVITrucks

      Preference mostly, but some departments opt for colored lighting to try to reduce glare.

      The FDNY Replaces their Rescue Trucks every 7 to 8 years . Fire trucks go thru alot of abuse and the maintenance to maintain them is alot of money and finding parts for them is hard

      They wont be thinking that when theres a multi car pile up and 4 cars need to be cut open because the people inside are bleeding to death. Time is life in those situations and not having to reposition a truck and having everything work the first time makes all the difference in the world durring the golden hour.
