Hi Ryan can I add prodiamine with humic 12
I am surprised You didn’t pre-germinate ur seed a little!
The video I've been waiting for all winter! I hope initial results are going well seeing that today is day 9. Appreciate you sharing all of this, Ryan and Kelsey!
Lots of lows around 35 since I seeded so nothing growing too much yet
You have inspired me i have the best yard in my neighborhood. It gives me the greatest sense of accomplishment. much
love from wyoming.
Ryan- psyched to get back to my lawn. After following you the past 2 years, I turned my lawn into “bragging rights”... Just purchased some added seed for repairs but I’m a loyal product user. From NJ thank you
I appreciate the support!!
I feel u on the weather been Trying to start my yard project doing some renovations around my house I have a lot of yard to test different seed types few weeks ago we were at 60s even had a 80 degree weather nows it’s 50s all week and rain/snow I live in northern Illinois, had to put everything on hold😫
Love the Sunday morning video drop ☕️🌞🌱
Please keep updating us on this specific project. Make it a series or playlist or something. I have notifications on! Thx
Playlist already created 🙂
Always comes clutch with the music edit!
Good luck Ryan. Love these videos.
Looks like Ventrac needs to send you the new cultivator! Your property is coming along nicely.
It felt like a workout just watching you seed that area. Hopefully you don't get Connor Ward levels of snow!
Random question as I'm watching this. Saw you use an open bag -- are your bags of seed good for a while? Should I throw them out after a year or something? Does the seed go bad?
Good at least a year but usually longer if stored in a cool and dry place
Freeze warning tonight. Will it kill your seed?
I don't really have too much growing yet so it should be fine as long as temps start to come up soon
You have a lot of work ahead of you to get this lawn as perfect as your previous lawn!!
Nothing good happens overnight 🙂
The process is the fun!
@@ryanknorrlawncare Hello sir, I need your help. I’m renovating my yard, I completely removed all my grass from my yard starting from the start. I need your help to get the seed fertilizer for my soil - which one to get? I’m located in Florida. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon, I'm making my way home.
Thanks for helping our planet.
Should have hydro-seeded. Watch some of GCI turf vids on the subject, comes out really good.
Less than 10k sq ft is much cheaper for me to do this way
Is this your new house?
You need a giant Reel mower now
Only 1k sq ft bigger than my other front lawn for the reel mowed area
🌱👍
this dude can’t even ride a dirt bike.
Ryan your the reason i have been really getting into getting my lawn looking it's best. Can wait for you to have content for Bermuda grasss as I live in Texas.
Could be worse. You could live in Northern Utah.
Great content. Videos are well produced. I enjoy your channel, Ryan!
Love what you're doing. Can't wait for the updates
I've spring seeded several areas (a few thousand sq feet) over the last few years here in WI, and it's worked out just fine. Nearly full sun areas too. They were KBG so by the following spring, they were excellent looking.
Totally off base from this video, but if I could ask a quick question from you. My lawn soil Ph is around 7.6. I am going to treat as soon as winter decides to leave us here in my part of Minnesota. Going to give it a treatment of magical plus with sulfur . What fertilizer blend should I look for with my Ph level .
Hope you have fantastic results, looking forward to the start of seeing green!!
New subscriber and loving the channel. Great information and I have so much to learn.
Trying to apply these tips to build a healthy centipede lawn near the the Gulf of Mexico.
I'm just here for the cinematography...you doing something with grass?
Hey, I just bought a new house, and me and my neighbors are all on new lots with new yards. one of my neighbors lets her dog shit everywhere. I plan on having a discussion with her but this is bad for new lawn growth right? Its starting to look like an early spring so im also wondering if you think spring will still get the job done?
Man oh man! I was out there with you. I appreciate the time stamps. I overseeded my front lawn at the exact same time you planted yours, racing the rain and dreading the cold west of you in Nebraska. The lawn was new in fall 2022 but came in patchy after it started warming up. I hope the freezing overnight temps this past week didn’t set us both back 😅 looking forward to results videos this summer!!!
Good job Ryan!!!! Kelsey too....we saw you laying out the seed cover roll thingys while Ryan was seeding!!!!! And rolling out after! GO TEAM!
Brother, i feel for you! I feel ur frustration! I live in colorado springs and i’ve been chasing weather and temperatures below freezing for weeks now. I’ve already had an unsuccessful repair overseed.🤷🏻♂️temps just got too cold at night even tho daytime temps were in the 60’s and 70’s. Now we also had snow which is probly headed ur way. Guess i’ll just have to wait until temps trully warm up. At least u get rain!😓😓
In Castle Rock and hear you!!!
That's a very large looking front lawn Ryan but if anyone can make it work in the spring, I'm sure you can.
"...and then it's supposed to snow." 🤦♂ Crazy! I have no doubt that this lawn will look great later in the season! Always enjoy your videos Ryan 👍
How long after applying this starter fertilizer should a guy wait before thinking about fertilizing again?
I’m sure it will get real ugly before it’s gets nice but it’s more content 😂. We’re going to see all the farm weeds growing around the house
Great inspiration again Ryan. Will be interesting how it all comes in. I am sure your fall overseeding this year will take care of any bare patches. Thanks for posting!
Definitely! Fall will be a key time for me
The cinematography you produce solo is absolutely incredible.
Sad there wasn’t more ventrac footage 😢 Great video though! Ha
Hope it comes in good for you and you get some warmer weather for it to really start popping!
Seeding always induces a downpour. Every single time
Need some advice with 1 acre of North Texas yard. Can send pic
Can’t wait to see how the spring seeding comes out. I seeded one section this spring. The first time I’ve ever sprint seeded and nothing is coming out!!! Spring seeding is definitely much more difficult than late summer/fall seeding 😭
Too cold right now. It should pop when temps come up but always a gamble
Back on the lawns.. happiest youve looked for a while - good to see you back outside
When are you going to invite Connor Ward out to your new place?
I’m prepping to do a full renovation in spring, I know it isn’t the ideal time but I just moved and can’t wait until fall.
Make sure you're ready for weed control. More info here - ua-cam.com/video/rhpXOGt3U7c/v-deo.html
Ryan, have you ever considered using a tackifier over your seed? I seeded my backyard and a steep portion of a side yard last fall. I used a powdered tackifier that I mixed with sand as a carrier, and applied with a drop spreader over my dusting of peat moss. It worked excellently. I applied it with a minimal breeze. Wind is frustrating. I had to get it down though and thankfully was dealing with just a breeze at the time. The drop spreader and sand mixture were perfect to help it fall straight down on the ground. It was a very fine powder, and a broadcast spreader and breeze would have had it carried away on the wind. The sand helped a lot too. If you ever want to try something other than seeding blankets, I recommend the tackifier.
It’s going to be amazing. Can’t wait to see you what you have coming with reel mowing that massive plot of land.
Ventrac??
Going through the same dilemma with a much smaller lawn in MO. Killed off my already-dead zoysia last fall but didn't get it cut out before it got cold, then as soon as I got it torn up this spring a downpour washed half my dirt down the street 😅 put out starter fertilizer and seed covered with straw and somehow the weather has played nice, now I'm just praying something pops up in the advertised timeframe and stressing about keeping it wet. Good luck with yours!
This weather 🤷🏼♂️. Looks like the warm up is right around the corner.
I'll send you some sunny days from west Texas. Can't wait to see some germination. Good luck on the season!! Ill be watching the channel.
I seeded my lawn after a new build in 2019. Torrential rainfall like 2 days later lol! Overseeded it that fall again and added some fine topsoil as a top dressing to what I had. GCi TTTF and cool blue. It’s the nicest yard in the neighborhood now. I covered mine in the problem areas with the EZ straw with tackifier. It got sticky when wet! Maybe try some of that in those slope areas if the straw blankets are too much or hard to find
Exciting new beginnings!! SNOW! Wow! Insane! Congratulations on the newly started lawn!
I’m outside of Altoona and I’m thankful you’re going through this the same time as me. I have about 30,000 sq ft of bare soil at my new construction home. Weeds are already taking over and the early seed I got down washed away in the heavy rains last week. It’s gonna be a battle.
We got that same weather here in Southern Wisconsin.....84 degrees on Saturday and Snow Storm on Sunday........Crazy
Fell into the same issue. Had an area in my yard that I’m trying to raise because the previous owner had a pool there. Leveled it up with dirt. Put seed down. Watered it. Few days later snow.
Don't you just Iowa in the Spring? If variety is the spice of life I'm ready for a new life 😅
It’s been great to watch your progress as I’m at a similar latitude here west of Chicago and dealing with a very similar lawn starting scenario. I also chose to put down seed during that string of 80s we had a couple of weekends ago. Thankfully my turf-type tall fescue germinated right before we were back to frost at night and it’s holding on just fine. But I chose not to put down any mesotrione so we’ll see how that goes weed-wise. Thanks for the great content and info!
Just finished my first home back garden renovation, thanks for your vids, big love from Southern Ireland.
I wish I could show you what 25 days in on the TTTF/KBG looks like down south. Fantastic results.
Ryan, nice work getting that seed down! Can you talk a bit about watering plan? Time to break in that new system !
Have you ever used Tacifier? Like on the hill spots? +s/-s?
First Aussie 😁. Ryan, the lawn Ranch is going to look great , you’ve got the expertise and determination to get the job done. 😎
Ryan did that bag tell you 8lbs. per 1000 sq.ft.????
Hey Ryan, Can you try nubbing the seed in with your 8 tires on the Ventrac in an area?? This works great too.
Just curious in this case why you decided to go with the straw mat vs peat moss? Getting ready to seed this coming weekend and really debating between the two.
With our windy conditions and bare soil the peat moss washes away too easily. I like it better for small areas or if you have at least some grass cover in place to help hold things but straw has been a lot better for my projects lately
@@ryanknorrlawncare Awesome, decided to go with straw as well on top of your TTTF/BG mix! Thanks again.
Love the content! I’m in the same boat for a smaller area. Good luck!!
We had the best success with rolling in the seed, great stuff per usual!
Colorado is the same way. You never can get a handle on the weather
That is gonna be a beautiful big lawn!
It's going to look nice when you are done always a great show thanks again brother
I love your wife is out there at night supporting you!
can you start to put the dates down in the description of when you do stuff?
The weird thing is wind and rain and soil particle size and weight.
That shaded spot will get more light on a cloudy day
How many times did you check the grass seed tag to make sure you put down the right seed?
Zero actually haha
Only make that mistake once.
Best of luck with that huge plot! Semi-related, I have some leftover RK TTTF/Bluegrass I got last year for some renovation (went well, looks great!) and I'm planning to do more work this year. Is seed from last year still going to do well come this fall, or better to try and get seeding done now in the spring?
Should be fine if you store it in a cool dry place
Gods, I would love Ryan's job.
I’ve said it before. Your weather is so similar to ours here in the Rochester NY area. We had very warm/hot weather around the same time you videoed this and now April 23 it’s in the low to mid 50’s. We did have some snow a week ago. 🤷♂️
Gotta love it! Or not... 🙂
Starting @11:15 with that music and the sunset and night work it really did something to relax the soul. Good luck on the seeding!
I love that time of day
Will a rider mower and a roller hurt the seed? Laying down an acre tomorrow
At time of seeding that won't hurt anything.
@@ryanknorrlawncare thanks for responding! Thank you
Nice work. What day did you seed?
I have noticed that your new property is very windy, in addition to planting grass, it might be beneficial to plant trees as wind breakers at the same time. Left like this, I think the strong constant wind will erode your house pretty quickly.
All in due time. It takes a lot to get a property up and running from a field less than a year ago.
The enclosure for your Westies looks great too
All you can do is try and that is always better than doing nothing. It was cold here in KCMO set a new record for the low. First time ever I had to wear a jacket cutting the grass!
27 here last night 👎
Why do heavily focused on grass, seems like a great opportunity to plant some trees and some flowering pollinator garden
Have you looked at the name of this channel? We have 38 acres of tons of wild native stuff
Great video Ryan. Here in Minnesota I laid down seed when it was three days of 80s... then 10 days of rain/snow. We'll see how it works!
Same, i laid some this past week. The cool weather might be good for it. Keep it from drying out hopefully.
Wow, that`s a lot of seed you laid down, did you do any of the fairway grass, just curious, I forgot where the fairway was going.
Just around the building to start
Love it. Showing the pro and cons of it all. Are you thinking a couple years to get it perfect? If you have good growth yoy going to try to level more in the fall?
It should look decent by the end of this season if the fall weather is good. We'll see how the leveling goes after I start mowing and get a sense of how smooth it is or isn't at this point
cant wait to see how it turns out in a few months
Iam redoing my front with ur ryan knorr parennial rye iam in NJ I'm excited my question is about what month should I start killing everything off with the glyphosate ? I was thinking june to make sure it's all dead by late august???? Thanks in advance
Usually around here I would start around the 4th of July but if you can deal with it dead for longer, you can start earlier and make sure it's all clean before seeding
@@ryanknorrlawncare thank u ....yes I wanna kill it all off til everything with new top soil mixed in level it best I can then seed I'm just nervous about a quarter of the lawn that gets about a half day of shade ....well see what happens thank u for everything Brohym!!
Good luck 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Great video bro!
Got to love Midwest
I’m in the same zone and it’s been tough to try to get out and get work done…
Nothing very consistent so far
If anybody will make this a success it's you Ryan
Anyone can do it! Just takes patience and persistence 🙂
Nice video 😊
Snow would be great since it will keep everything moist and in-place and insulated. I love spring wet snows.
Just got a dusting but it was 27 last night with no snow cover
@@ryanknorrlawncare Ouch. Hope it holds up. 2 more storms coming up. (I am in Denver)
Good luck!
