  • Join me in the "Way Back Machine" as we tour the evolution of the various and sundry computer technological devices that I have used over time.
NOTE: MS-DOS has not been used since WINDOWS XP, however you can still access the Windows Command Prompt Commands for DOS type instructions. ##

I could be way wrong here, but is it not the case that desktop windows stopped being DOS based with the release of windows xp?

Thank you very much for watching my video and the update about MS-DOS. You can still utilize the Windows Command Prompt Commands using DOS type commands.

Wow!, How I remembered getting into computers way back in 1988.

    Haha, way to contradict yourself!

Excellent job. I’m sharing this with our computer science programs.

    I miss internal optimal drives.
I bought a usb 3.5 floppy when I saw that the 5.25 floppies were going away.
I do not use a laptop on my lap. That is begging for a disaster. To me, a "laptop" is a convenient and easily transportable desktop. That is what I have always used a "laptop" for.
I'm glad you didn't show samples of basic with line numbers. My first computer was a KayPro-II (a luggable) that had a version of compiled basic without line nombers.
I enjoyed this video. Please do more of these.

Computing sure was fun back then. I actually just purchased a Texas Instruments TI -99 computer (my first computer) on EBay. Thank you cbbcbb6803 for your input.

Ok. Uhhhh... MS/PC-DOS did not read punch cards!

Correctamundo. I was simply using MS-DOS commands to help illustrate computer languages, since more people would be familiar with it. Thank you for watching my video.

I remember the Dell commercials from the early 2000s that you mentioned, the "Steve" (Ben Curtis) ads. They were okay at first but got annoying.
