Kayaking Travel Adventure Tech
While solo kayaking for the first time on a large creek, my kayak was caught up in fast moving water. I was not able to paddle back upstream due to the strong current and was subsequently forced to travel several miles downstream before being able to exit the water. I condensed a three hour trip into a half-hour video. So join me as we travel into unknown waterways and thru beautiful countryside. A special thank you to my brothers Keith and Karl for their assistance.

Video Doc of the Traveling Replica of the Viet Nam War Memorial Wall.

Recently I had the privilege of visiting the "Wall that Heals" replica of the Viet Nam War Memorial. This event is sponsored by the local area VFW and was escorted by veterans on motorcycles to its location. When I heard that it had arrived, I grabbed my cameras and gear and set out for there, in order to pay my respects to those who had given their lives during the war. Once on location, I rec...
Capturing the Northern Lights (and sound??) with iPhone.
Переглядів 1264 місяці тому
I went outside at 3:30 am with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and for the first time in my life was able to see and experience the Northern Lights. It was very still outside so I was able to hear certain sounds that almost seemed to emanate from the Aurora Borealis itself (such as a low hum sound and crackle type noises).

How to Edit Soundtrack Jingles in Final Cut Pro for IPAD

Pendulum Time Tech at MSI in Chicago
Переглядів 339 місяців тому
During a recent trip to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, I observed the Focault Pendulum exhibit. This pendulum display demonstrates how a swinging pendulum and deduce the rotation of the Earth and subsequently tell the approximate time. The pendulum will always remain in the plane as it swings, while the Earth rotates underneath it.
Tornado Tech at MSI in Chicago
Переглядів 429 місяців тому
While on a trip to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, I saw that there is a tornado producing display inside the Museum. So naturally, I stepped into the wind velocity booth to experience up to 80MPH wind speeds (basically that of a small tornado). Now, compare that small exposure, to the video clip provided by the Illinois Storm Community.

This is awesome phone
Awesome, how amazing it must be for you to see hear the sounds of the northern lights. Interesting, didn’t we can hear the sounds of it👍😄💕 May I ask where was this taken? I’m also at a place that have the opportunity to see the northern lights right now. 😎
This is very cool
Hi do you know if this will handle S-VHS tapes as well (no I don't mean S-Video as in the physical connection for anyone that asks).
Hello and thank you for watching my video. I am not sure but it sounds like it worth a try. Let me know if it works.
this truly inspired my cousin and i to go on our own kayaking adventure!!🛶🛶🛶👍👍🚣🚣🚣
Thank you for watching my video. Enjoy the open water and be safe.
I've used one on my MAC (running Ventura) for a few months. It was great. Then all of a sudden NO video signal (but I do have the audio) I did not change the physical connections. I tried the coax (yellow) and it did not work as well as the S-VS connection and no video. I reinstalled the program and no luck. Any ideas? TIA
@@gregdavidson5898 Hi and thanks for watching my video. Have you tried the Time Machine function on your Mac to go back to the last good usage? Sometimes computer updates interfere with the device programming. Also, it could be a defective unit.
@@geminicenturion5961 I haven't tried that. Actually in the years that I've owned MACS I never used the Time Machine feature. I might not even have one hooked up to the MAC I'm on. 🤬 but, thank you. I'm going to try it on another mac I have tomorrow.
Leave it to Apple to make something so easy so complicated. My love and hate relationship with Apple is that they do this kind of things all the time. They pay attention to detail in so many things put when it comes to simple things like this they make us jump hoops! This is insane that you can’t just cut it and finish your project. I have a project that is only 30 seconds long and I only want to use 30 sec of the song but it wont let me just cut it or drag it down as it changes the music key where i want it. So frustrating.
Hi Sir, How did you fix that blutooth connectivity issue when going under water ?
Hello and thank you for watching my video. Unfortunately I was not able to regain Bluetooth connectivity until I withdrew the camera from the water.
Will this work for macrovision bypass
:(
I am not gonna lie when I say I miss the old Desk Top set up and then installing AOL or MSN. I would stay on the computer all day and night after work. Even hearing the dial up sounds brings back great memories of learning how to use a Computer back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It all changed after Windows 98 and XP. My Laptop had no memory after I installed Windows 10. I couldn't even install the security updates. It became useless
Very cool 😎
9:10 you're welcome
You have random VHSC tape? Well well well
Rotary phones do work!! When calling certain numbers they ask if youre dialing from a rotary phone!❤ thank you for doing this! So cool!
You need to sharpen your video more dude, cut to the point you title says How to use elgato capture car, but you spen half of the video talking about VHS tapes and vcr, c'mon bro
Very nice! Cool video to watch 👍🏻
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
Very well put together! Very cool stories!
Hi. Could you use it with a C Hub with a number of inputs on it?
That's not a true rotary phone. It's a modern imitation of a rotary phone that actually sends DTMF tones (AKA: touch tones), which is why it works on any modern phone line. To see if a rotary phone will work on your phone line (if it's VoIP rather than a traditional landline then you probably won't be able to dial out with it), you need a true rotary phone, like the Western Electric model 500 (which was released in 1949/1950 and is the type of phone that yours is imitating). You'll also notice how much higher quality it looks and feels compared to that modern imitation, especially with regard to the dial mechanism.
I don't like this comment. You come off as arrogant and a know it all. I don't understand why people come to videos just to critique. If you're informative make your own video:)
@@linamarie84 "I don't like this comment." Gee, that's too bad. "You come off as arrogant and a know it all." Your non sequitur is dismissed. The phone he used in this video is a touch-tone phone, manufactured recently in China to resemble an old rotary phone (but it functions completely differently). Of course a touch-tone phone still works, because touch-tone is still the current dialing standard. The latest iPhone or whatever is also a touch-tone phone. Would it make any sense to make a video asking if the latest iPhone still works just because it has an "app" that shows an animation of a rotary dial on the screen? "I don't understand why people come to videos just to critique. If you're informative make your own video:)" Your non sequitur is dismissed.
yep very true and now a days im not familiar with any actual landlines besides voIP except the city of atherton CA . i have 2 a imattion rotary and an actual rotary and you can not call out with the real rotary phone 😢because of voIP
I miss the sound and AOL, I don't have my AOL email account anymore. I might just get one again, lol, wink.
Very strange how this is in my recommended videos. I have the same elgato cable or whatever it is. But never used it.
This device is incompatible with Linux, so it is completely useless. Fortunately I already have a Dazzle video converter (which DOES work with Linux), and this device doesn't appear to do anything different than the Dazzle.

Apple run such a scam their prices are just pathetic anyone that spends that on upgrades is an outright mug.
Hello Sir, I'm from Pakistan and very excellent videos that you are sharing
Approx. how many GB for say 1 hr of vhs tape?
Can anybody help: I keep getting the error „Please connect to a USB 2.0 port“ - is this device seriously not compatible with 3.0 or higher?? 😮
0:00 how much disc?
I loved AOL as a kid and still remember my screen name
im gonna try this on my windows xp laptop dell inspirion 5100
but still dialup ISP very useful when no high speed. btw you can today build your own dialup ISP easily
😀😀😀
Thanks for trying 👍🏽
The end of one Era! I still remember my modem Acorp 33.600kbps from 1999 :). Times change so much... and unfortunately I cannot say for good...
AOL still have a dial-up service, but their connection telephone #s are hard to find, espexially in rural areas.

Have you copied a finished file from your laptop to a thumb drive to verify it works properly? This would be my intent. I want to put several old Vhs tapes onto a thumb drive. Thx for checking. Greg
People like myself will never stop whiching vhs movies and buying them offline for 10 dollars
if the modem on the other side answers...... SOMETHING is still there.. This requires investigation lol
2 years ago I couldn’t get into my AOL account that I’ve had since 94. And there’s nobody to call for support
👏👏👏👏👏🔝💯
I think the AOL service still exists, but you need a preexisting Internet connection, like an MMO.
😭😭
How come you're not getting the errors that most people are having that I read about
My dad still has an account and uses it every day.
I used to connect to AOL at 14,400 back in the day too lol
Is the elgato device recognized in Windows 10 64 bit ?
Hi and thank you for watching my video. It works very well with Windows 10 but I am not sure if 64 bit would make a difference. You may want to check the website for more specific information.
The email service still works, I think.
My dad still uses it.
It does. Mine are still active.
I've had AOL since the late 90's. Although I haven't paid anything for the service since the late 2000's (2007, I believe). That's when AOL introduced their BYOA (Bring Your Own Access) plan at the time. I believe it turned into the Free AOL plan, which I've been on ever since and I still use my AOL email address regularly
Sitll slow 56Kbps no longer connection to rental modem dial a actual modern Modem is free unlimited and faster 10Gbps
Dial-up was still slow back then.
good video - thanks. I've seen several of these and they are all based on converting a whole tape or movie. In my case I have many videos of family affairs (such as Christmas mornings). I have no wish to convert all of them but would like to grab the best 10 or 15 minutes from each. Can yo start and stop the record function as you go through the tape or can you edit and cut out sections with this trim feature?
Hello and thank you for watching my video. I am not sure but I would think you can do individual recordings and save them as separate files. If you have a good editing software you can then combine the files into a longer video.
