- The Ukrainian infantryman, call sign "Ray", recalled scrambling for his gas mask after a Russian drone dropped a tear gas grenade into his trench on the eastern front.
His country's military has said #Russia is ramping up its illegal use of riot-control agents in an effort to clear trenches and stage a major advance in the east.
Ukrainian army leaders have also alleged that it is not just tear gas being used by Russia but other, more serious chemical weapons.
Riot-control agents are banned on the battlefield by the international Chemical Weapons Convention, which Russia and #Ukraine are signatories to.
But the Ukrainian military has record around 900 uses of these agents on the battlefield in the past six months, a number they say is only increasing.

It is funny how this is banned for war but cleared to be used against civilians
Good point. I never thought about that.
It's a blanket ban on chemical warfare so countries don't try find loopholes like developing new chemical weapons that weren't specifically mentioned in the treaty.
@@GoosterHiista Makes sense, like the psychoactive substances act.
@@Mkbshg8
Indeed like this 😂
Banned because it's Russian 👎
Isnt that what governments use on rioters?
Exactly
But on a battle field it blinds u then Russia storms the trench
@@1234crevis sounds smart

The only thing banned in a war is losing.
So, frag grenades legal, tear gas illegal. Who makes up these rules. That makes zero sense.
It’s technically a chemical weapon so that’s why it’s illegal in war. Even though it’s technically a chemical weapon it’s a basic one at that so that’s why police are allowed to use it I think hopefully that makes sense imo the telegraph could have done a better job at giving/explaining context
I guess many soldiers would prefer to be attracted with this illegal weapon, rather than conventional and legal
What are they gonna do about it? Cry? 😅
Go outside

It’s war why is this somehow a tactic that’s off the table? And also, Ukraine is certainly also committing so despicable acts. I’m not pro Russian but these stories are ridiculous
The next news. Ukrainians complain that Russian soldiers are shooting at them🤭
Why are chemical weapons off the table when Russia is already targeting hospitals? Good question Ivan.
@cherryy7609 Russia never targeted hospitals, John
What if police are shooting it because they thought there was a football fan there? That makes it completely legal.
What kind of gas should the Russians use? Nitrous oxide?
Now the victims while they where the 1st to use cluster munitions illegal
Exactly.
This is equal like germany complain about using shotgun in WW1. Lmao
Tear gas is used by Many Western countries to stop violent Riots.
Tear Gas use very common in Many countries.
telegraph accused of propaganda in britain. so there😂
So what
So it's a war crime.
"War crime" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@syntactyx cluster shells are war crime. Tear gas is not🤣
Footage of airsoft guns?
Yeah... I mean must be going well XD
where is the Chief Investigator's report on Bucha, and the list of the dead ?
No one is interested in investigating theatrical productions
Вы ещё скажите, что у Саддама Хусейна не было химического оружия.
So are bean bag shotgun rounds banned too?
So a non lethal weapon was used 😂😂😂😂
Teargas ,so what.
So it's a war crime.
"War crime" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Interesting 🤔 I could have sworn i watched a video where Ukrainians distinctively said they suffocated a Russian soldier with a gas/smoke grenade and were convinced he was dead for being in the smoke long enough. They didn't mention the use ot tear gas but they were sure it was affective enough to kill him.
Nothing is “Banned” in a war. How ignorant.
Also it's not a war remember, it's a "special operation".
STOP the use of non lethal weapons ASAP ! 🥴🤦🏽♂️🤡
Ok cool. Its allowed as we send weapons.
China: nothing to see here, move along.
US: civilians are l3ggetimate target
Russia smoking out ISIS😂
LUCKY IT AINT ANTHRAX.
Does this mean Ukraine is winning?

The war movie is the bloodiest ever 😢
Une belle mise en scène,….. c’est l’acteur qui dirige les figurants….? Il y a du gaz des 2 cotés…. Certainement….
To explain for people who might not know, tear gas is classified as a chemical weapon, it falls under the same legal category as chlorine gas and mustard gas. It was banned from warfare pre WW1 since chemical weapons as a whole are pretty terrifying to deal with
Chemical weapons were not banned until AFTER WW-1.
US already used them in middle east.

Pure Evil regime -Russia Putin
russia will pay
How exactly, and who's going to make it pay?
@@AbcDino843At the end of the day, the entire world will pay in some way. Russia could have been a great contributor to the world in manufacturing and resources and global peace, but has chosen the foolish axis path of domination and subjugation of the "weaker" and will pay the price. Action via USA and NATO will have global consequences economically. If Ukraine falls the resulting military buildup will be unprecedented, and the makings of world war 3 are set.
Russia, Iran, China, and NK are all part of the equation and I would hope China would step in to coax Russia into brokering a ceasefire, and the USA coaxing Ukraine to accept the terms. Ukraine would join NATO, and at that point China would probably invade Taiwan and Russia focus its efforts towards Kosovo and embroil tension by supplying ethnic Serbs with materiel to raise tensions in the region and further distract US military action which would be focused on Taiwan. Iran would probably continue blowing up Israel, and who knows what else.
Nuclear war is just one leader's choice from becoming reality, but it depends on every country to prevent such a possibility.
@AbcDino843 they won't and no one will, Russia is the same as every other country in the west
@@daveoc5770it's not Russia does have moralle, west have satanisam and lgbt, and balls to fight inferior countries and still lose war...Russia will win against formidable opponent, Ukraine is big nation, brave warriors but no chance against russia
