EASY & SIMPLE CROQUE MONSIEUR RECIPE | FRENCH HAM & CHEESE SANDWICH

CROQUE MONSIEUR (2 SERVINGS)
4 slices of bread
8 slices of ham or mortadella (I use chicken mortadella)
Gruyere or mozzarella cheese
Dijon mustard
Bechamel sauce:
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
250ml milk
1/4 tsp salt & nutmeg

I presume very little bit of salt should be added in the béchamel bcoź the cheese n the ham are already quite salty..Otherwise it looks very tasty😍😍😍

If you don't want to do a bechamel sauce, there is a shortcut: mix sour cream with cheese and an egg yolk, put it in the microwave to melt the cheese and there you go, you have your topping ! It takes 3 minutes to do.
More importantly: i like to have mozzarella cheese in the topping and comté inside the sandwich. Mozzarella will melt amazingly and comté is for the nutty flavour. But it's up to you, choose the one cheeses you want or have.
