man you had to love riding back in the day because sure seemed like a s chore!! the kick starting isn’t my thing love everything else about the old stuff and absolutely have the respect for it!! Hell with out it we wouldn’t be where we are today!!🍻👍
They have everything in Japan and I in Germany have a hard time finding a rigid frame Harley. Just any hardtail. Shovelhead would be my preferred but I dont find them either. Its truly tough nowadays, especially since I'm a student and obviously not rich...
I WANT THAT BIKE! Also it kind of reminds me of the "Beautiful Buzzard's" chopper except his handlebars were 6 bend pullbacks and an extended telescoping front end
all Harley's used a 6V system until the introduction of the electrict starter. I have owned 1963 45 inch trikes with an electrict starter, but I have no doceumentation that this was in fact HD's production in 1963. What is certain, by 1965, all Big Twin's (1965 was the last year of the Panhead) and XLH Sportster models came with a factory 12 V system and electric starter
original frame, good eye on the side car loops. been sometime since I had that bike. I assume I did not point out the side car loops because they were not original to the frame.
Hey Todd I have a 1972 XLH Shovelhead sportster I want to fix any suggestions on where to take it that you recommend? It's hard to find an honest loyal guy that man's up to his word.
What do you think about running a Dellorto carb? I have one on a XLCH and seems to be ok, but don't have a lot to compare it to. It took me a long time to get it dialed in good and seems to be real particular about what it likes. The only other carbs I have run are S&S super B & E. Thanks
Imagine this bike if you took off the extensions and rebuilt it as a Springer Pan Bob ! I'd have to dump those buckhorns too but meh, I'm a Bobber Nut. A little springer seat and a P-Pad.
I love rigid frame , the look of that ' s bike rocks. In Canada you can' t have one of those old school harleys. you need a damn suspention to ride. Anyway it's realy nice bike.
+wh07016 sorry so late in replying, your comment was marked as spam somehow and I just found it. I got the bike in central California. Not sure who built it
Real cool looking Bike. But I don't think I could do the start hassle. My 20 year old FXDWG will start after 4 turns from being stored for 4 months over winter. But it ain't as cool as that Pan.
Umm, no thanks. I turn the ignition on my '99 RoadKing, wait for the fuel pump to spool up, hit the button and wait for about 10 seconds for it to idle down to a nice lope. Then off I go. Others might say, "Shit John, ya might as well be riding rice for that lack of Harley involvement!" To which I reply, " Eat shit, this IS a Harley and it's finally gotten with the 21st Century! I'm 10 miles down the road while you're still kicking yourself towards a coronary!! " LoL
John Tilson 50 years of kikin and still going , hey tune yer bike once in a while and it will start 1st kick every time . also don't be a pussy and say I need to be....
I don't like old bikes, every time you twist a bolt something breaks...! I'm Tired of fixing even the new ones let alone find parts for the old ones...!
I enjoy watching this guy starting up these classic bikes truly makes my day
Me too!
I have watched this video probably 50 times....best UA-cam channel IMHO

Perfect rake sharp lookin machine
Awesome Bike and great info!! Thanks
Cool bike.
The S&S E is currently the best carb on the market. Dellorto's were fine, in the 1970's and early 1980's.
I Like Mikuni also, have it on my 86 redone EVO , Heritage Softail.
Don't know if it's the camera shot but looks to be crabbing. Were the wheels out of alignment?
Los Angeles California, right by San Pedro

love to ride that
How many of these ended up in Japan?
Best educated guess, Japan has around 95% of HD production 36 to 84
@gheddi supply and demand, plus $ exchange. For years, prices were 3 to 5 times higher then those in the USA.
