Hi, can you pls react to this action movie "Shaolin" (2011)? It's a very touching movie depicting karma, cause and effect. There are many famous actors in this movie like Andy Lau, Jackie Chan. Hope that you can find time to react to it. Thank you!
Fun Fact: Ip Chun (Ip Man's oldest son and only remaining son) has said he was not ever kidnapped, though child abductions and death were prevalent at that time, he lost a lot of friends. Ip Ching, his second and youngest, passed in Jan 2020 at 83.
If you look at the Chief Wing Chun Advisr for these films, they asked Ip Chun to take on that role. Also another slightly fun but sad fact. Ip Man and his wife didn't remain together until she passed away. She actually attempted to return to Fo Shan to recover some important belongings but immigration and issues with customs prevented her from returning to Hong Kong. So she passed away overseas, and was nowhere near her husband; Yup, she died not as depicted in the movie. This movie's story was actually Ip Chun's wish and dream about a happier ending for his parents than what he saw happen IRL which they managed to work into the script.
Not as fun fact, human trafficking is the worst from asia all the way to the middle east. There's more white people who were taken as slaves than blacks in the West back in the day also.
I remember that the worry was since Tyson wasn't a professional action actor, he wouldn't be able to pull punches so as to not hurt other people he was in the scene with. So it was ironic that he was the one who got hurt instead. But his punches were deadly fast and strong. The part where he hits the punching bag would have done significant damage had Donnie not moved away in time. Felt like that was a close call but it looked real good.
@@Rakerong Yeah Chinese movies don't have all the protections that U.S. movies do. When you see those action scenes the actors that are fighting are going just as fast. Hitting just as hard. And sometimes they fail to pull punches in time. But unless there is real damage the actors have to keep going. Even the extras.
The fight between Mike Tyson and Donnie Yen was a tie because they didn't want to make either of the two look like losers on screen. Instead, it was to show that they were both strong competing fighters who had their own unique ways to balance the scales of combat in their favor. And that they both were to be respected despite the obvious fighting differences
Yeah, that's not called respect, but ego instead. Winning or losing in a scripted film doesn't actually reflect on the fighter, plenty of decorated fighters who deserve respect lose in films, but that's just to serve some sort of writing purpose and they are usually good sports about it.
@@theperson8539 its called respect. Respecting the giant somebody is and not making him look like something he isnt is called respect. You should learn something about respect. Google is free
21:00 - No, what they're doing is demonstrating each other's style to determine which version of WC is the most effective and authentic. There are three weapon forms in WC - Dragon Pole, Butterfly Swords, and Empty Hands. They're not trying to kill each other per se, more like if someone happens to get injured or killed, then the other person's style pretty much prevails.
The actor who played Bruce Lee is the same actor who was the goalkeeper in Shaolin soccer. In that movie, he was wearing Bruce Lee's outfit from Game of Death.
Love to see these Ip Man movie's reaction. My father, who is also a Wing Chun Master, learnt from Ip Ching Grand Master. And I learnt from my father, just like Cheung Tin Chi and Fong. Unfortunately, Grand Master Ip Ching passed away two years ago, peacefully, with him family staying beside him.
i feel like its been forever since ip man was started. glad to see you two, thank you for your time and effort, you have helped alot without even realizing it.
Sometimes in some martial art you learn their weapon as well, thats why final fight they used pole and knife. They are testing every basic since they used to learn under the same master. BTW, if you noticed Ipman(when he got blinded) did 1inch punch that bruce lee did irl video
I love the Ip man movies mostly just for him and his wife. When he thinks it gets too hard for her he tries to quit doing what he loves and spends more time with her and his son. And because of this like in the first movie she thinks she’s not supportive enough of his dreams and what he loves. And here she is encouraging him to take the challenge because that’s the man she loves

Ip Man, is a super strong, morally incorruptible, wise master who always does the right thing and always wins without much difficulty... Ip is Superman, and the best Superman stories are about problems he cant just punch. War, Famine, Cancer...

Also please watch Master Z: Ip Man Legacy (2018), the spin-off movie after Ip Man 3, will see what happened to Cheung Tin Chi after he is defeated by Ip Man (right after the end of Ip Man 3)
Master Z is pretty fun to watch. The fight scenes are legit and Cheung Tin Chi is so different from Yip Man. Cheung Tin Chi is more like an anti-hero protagonist.
There were some goofy English language dialogues (just like in the Ip man series) but overall Master Z is a good film and a worthy spin-off. It’s got a lot of style too. EDIT: and Michelle Yeoh’s in it, enough said.
21:00 Correct...martial arts is about making fatal blows 99% of the time. It's the art of killing as they say but its just....its just fatal blows so it ends it being fatal. If you seen Karate Kid with Will Smith's kid, there's a small section of the movie where he goes to a shaolin temple. The people in the background were doing authentic martial arts compared to what you see throughout the movie, just like how you saw Ip Man doing crazy positions and flexes during his fight with Tyson.
i want to recommend you a live action anime movie with a title rurouni kenshin, the action is good but if you want to watch it the timeline order is : rurouni kenshin the beginning, rurouni kenshin part 1, rurouni kenshin part 2, rurouni kenshin part 3, rurouni kenshin the final. i'd love see both of you guys reaction with this one 😁
What's also cool is that the fight choreographer for the Rurouni Kenshin movies is Kenji Tanigaki, who's been Donnie Yen's protégé since the late 90s. Kenji Tanigaki also directed the movie Enter The Fat Dragon, starring Donnie Yen a few years ago, which is a martial arts comedy.

Good reaction, guys. The fights are choreographed very well, no one comes out as superman, Ip Man (Donny Yen) fights Mike Tyson and does get hurt, that is a good fight scene.
@@PolarTw No he didn't. I was awarded my Master Instructorship from Ip Chun and he assured me that Ip Man would not teach Bruce Lee (Jun Fan) as he wasn't Chinese, so NO Ip Man never taught him anything.

Good reaction, guys. The fights are choreographed very well, no one comes out as superman, Ip Man (Donny Yen) fights Mike Tyson and does get hurt, that is a good fight scene.
FYI: Ip Man never taught Bruce Lee, William Chung (Ip Man's disciple) actually taught Bruce Lee.
what ? bruce studied under ip man alongside william..
@@PolarTw No he didn't. I was awarded my Master Instructorship from Ip Chun and he assured me that Ip Man would not teach Bruce Lee (Jun Fan) as he wasn't Chinese, so NO Ip Man never taught him anything.
@@garytyme9384 Originally Ip Man had rejected Bruce the right to learn Wing Chun Kung Fu under him because of the long standing rule in the Chinese Martial Arts world to not teach foreigners. His one quarter German background from his mother's side would be an initial obstacle towards his Wing Chun training. However Cheung would speak on his behalf and Lee was accepted into the school
@@PolarTw True, but Ip Man never personally taught him. If you think Ip Man's own son would lie to my face about the truth of it then I need to speak to Ip Chun again and confirm the facts.
In matches between martial artist with high skill, you throw all you got. We have to hope the opponent would counter properly. If not we also have to hope we could adjust in time to spare them.
The last part actually fight with wing chun butterfly knife, wing chun long pole n wing chun fist

*Not going to lie but in 2017 I managed to do that a few times because I was so crazy into my Martial Arts but now? I always fall on my butt 😂*
