Nice video. Actually, there was a company called Mallett that would put an LS engine in the Solstice and sell it as a brand new car. So you're right that the Sky never came with a V8, but Mallett did swap out Solstices with them. I guess it's kinda like Hennessey or Roush modifying brand new cars.
That's awesome. I'm not sure the direction I want to go and don't have the finances to do anything crazy right now so I'm going to focus on the cage and go from there. Thanks for the info!
2.4 with the LNFs K04 turbo, all the parts that go with that, some injectors and a controller you're looking at 250+ whp…about 305 at the crank. Throw in some ARP head studs and the boost level can go up to about 15 psi (maybe more) and get to about 270 whp or more.
@@TopLineRacer just know that 2006 and 2007 2.4 engines had forged rods from the factory and are more boost friendly than 2008 and later engines. You can still turbo those later engines but above 260 whp you are risking engine damage if the tune is even slightly off.
It's too bad you never did a 0-60 run. That would be a valueble benchmark for weight reduction guys to get an idea relative to the original weight, what they would gain in speed per 100 lbs, and of course where the ceiling for those gains are, since you are off the charts for what anyone tracking the cars would be able to legally do. A unique opportunity.
Saw ur Sky on Streetspeed717’s channel.....I would say get rid of that big traditional wet-cell battery and switch to a Lithium. You can easily save 40lbs!
THANKS TO ALL WHO CAME OVER AND CHECKED OUT THE SKY! I HAD AN AWESOME TIME HANGING OUT WITH EVERYONE!

Mallett did build Sky Mallett V8s too...

@robotech. I didn't know that. I thought it was only the Solstice. Thanks for the correction. 👍

Where are you based in Pennsylvania
Throw a hemi in it
I wish but they're too expensive and heavier than an LS.
0:33 Drving a truck with failing brakes and no seatbelt... Tsk tsk tsk
You are 100% right. That was stupid on my part. Thanks for watching!
