  • We finally made it to this major Swiss Tourist attraction. A bit far for a one day trip, but it's okay, not regretting it. Enjoying fabulous Swiss Railways SBB CFF FFS, Jungfrau trains and Eiger Express.

    Hi is it any difference if we pass thru Lucerne? How much did you have to spend for the cable ride?

    • @dennishopetravel
      @dennishopetravel  Рік тому

      You can go through Lucerne but your destination is the same which is Interlaken. Not sure what kind of pass you have but the mountain train all the way to the top including a cable car which you can buy all together will be extra. If you some pass or Half fare card then you will get some discount. Hope this helps.

      @@dennishopetravel Hi I’m staying in Zurich for 3 full days. First day is Zurich and Second day is to the Top of Europe Jungfrauyoch. 3rd day is zurich to vaduz and lindau. What would be the best train pass for this itinerary?

    • @dennishopetravel
      @dennishopetravel  Рік тому

      I'd buy Swiss Half Fare Card(CHF 120) for tourist if I were you.
      www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/inspiration/international-guests/swiss-halffare-card.html
      In Zurich - the discount from the card is minimal. Depending on how many zones you want to go, the price ranging from 12.80 to CHF 15.60 but you'll get discount with half fare card.
      www.zvv.ch/zvv/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets/daypass.html
      The big discount is for you is day 2 and day 3 on SBB train to Interlaken, Vaduz and Lindau as those will be cut in half. Also as mentioned earlier, you'll get some discount(around 25%) when you take mountain train + cable car to Jungfrau.
      The best advice I can give you is once you land at Zurich airport, there are SBB windows before going that the platform where you can tell them your itinerary and they will tell you the best deal. Even though I live in Zurich, I did go ask them every now and then. It was a surprised for me that they are very thorough and super helpful.

    Lots of necessary information in your video..
    I am going to stay at Interlaken for 4 days in Dec. Is 4 days enough to be able to see Swiss Alps. Also can I do sightseeing on my own or do I need to buy separate sightseeing package? Please kindly advice as per your experience.. thanks for you advice in advance 😊

      Glad you like you the video :)
      4 days is perfect time for Interlaken. Afterward you should try Zermatt which looks a bit different (glacier + Matterhorn)
      For Interlaken(Bernese Oberland) I use this map quite a bit.
      www.berneseoberlandpass.ch/maps-bernese-oberland/
      You can do most of sightseeing yourself. You may need guide if you want more thrilling adventures like paragliding :)
      You can also follow this 2-day route.
      ua-cam.com/video/Ma8mkIFvNm4/v-deo.html
      It will be cold in Dec so make sure to layer yourself and great warm hiking shoes!
      Lastly, get Swiss Travel pass, it will save a lot of headache for transportations.

    very nice video. Do all train tickets covered in Eurail Pass?

    • @dennishopetravel
      @dennishopetravel  Рік тому +1

      Thx for the complement 🙏 no they are not all covered in Eurail pass. You will have to pay for the mountain train(s) and the cable car.
      Not sure if you will get some discount with Eurail pass but pls look for it. It’s quite pricey without discount.
