- Things go badly wrong down on the farm. เกิดข้อผิดพลาดร้ายแรงในฟาร์ม 😢😢🤐🤐
I have always said that we will show the ups and downs. Here is a video on one of the downsides. Enjoy.
Watch as we begin our journey of building a farm from scratch in Buriram Thailand. The journey begins with us starting to fill in a 4 rai plot of land that was used as a rice field. Please like and subscribe and leave any comments you have about our journey. Are we crazy, foolish or brave? You tell us and enjoy the ride.

Great advice David thank you ❤🙏🙏👌👌
Glad it was helpful! we live and learn all the time. Hope you are well Steve.
@@lemonfarmthailand good thank you the buyers surveyor is coming today 🤞
It must be frustrating David but I'm sure you will get there in the end mate 👍👍🦘🦘
Patnaree is on the case.
ouch....Hey, your truck looks like it can drive no problem on the dirt so if you tow about a 8" round tree log about 10ft behind ya...it will dig a trench deep enough to lay that pipe and the dirt will displace right next to it on either side so it'll be easy to cover.....the heavier the log the deeper the rut it'll cut...that's my trench digger farm hack...lol
We'll definitely keep that farm hack in mind!
G-Day, David, mate you have to be there to supervise all the time, just smile mate and keep going with your head down. 555
It’s all good, just gotta keep smiling and pressing on. 💪You don't learn unless you make mistakes.
Great video. So true...been there several times with plumbing, electrical and building walls. Fortunately the labour costs in rural Thailand to redo if you don’t do it yourself are relatively cheap compared to the West. Can be very frustrating at times even for the simplest of jobs but as you say " you need to be hands on".
It’s a learning experience.
The voice of experience; we live and learn. Looking forward to seeing the pump and flow details in due course.
IIUC, one solar well feeds the pond, which operates as a reservoir.
Then a second set of solar cells operate an irrigation pump that distributes water from the pond/reservoir into the pipe/sprinkler system?
You're on the right track, more details to come when we connect things together.
Builders in Isaan sometimes 😅 thanks for sharing the real side from your perspective David. Unfortunately things don't always go as smooth as we think
You're right! It's not always easy but we'll get there in the end!
13:47You have planned well....I agree..I think it is right.
Appreciate the video David - good to hear your perspective & honesty about real life business & building with different cultures, I guess you can’t be there all the time - All the best 👌✔️👍😎👋🙏
It's a learning curve!
Cut the pipes in long lengths dig and roll in the trench then join. Straight joiners are cheap as chips.
Personally, I have found with (as you stated) supervision, Thai people are ingenious and hard working. Unsupervised workers are the same the world over, not just Thai.
Thanks for the great advice, I'll keep it in mind for next time.
@@lemonfarmthailand I think I might give Ben (life in Thailand), a run for his money for blue pipe honours list....haha.
Take care and see you on the next one.
Thanks for sharing your experiences David 🙏
My pleasure!
So true... Thai people will never admit that they dont understand and will always say that they can do the work, so they can earn money and they will certainly try. Your ability to accept it and move forwrd is stoic. Keep up the great work .
Thanks for the kind words - I've learned to be more patient and accept the mistakes!
Thanks for the update Dave. You are leading the way for my potential irrigation idea. Is the burying of the pipes to protect them from the sun or so you can use a tractor once everything is in place? I do wonder how you will power the water so there is little to no loss of pressure. Most irrigation systems I have seen suffer from low to zero flow at the end of the line. I have 2 big ponds and my idea is to feed them with a well/solar pump then use is a decent diesel pump to push the water around. Would appreciate your thoughts. Chin up 😀
I will show you in the video how to maintain pressure, pretty simple fix. Regarding the ponds flow. If the ponds are exposed to the sun. Consider buying a solar pond pump to airiate the water.
@@lemonfarmthailand Thanks Dave. Look forward to the water pressure solution. What about the reason for burying the pipes?
@@lemonfarmthailand Re the water pressure I figure if the supply pipe runs in a circular loop back on itself the pressure should be level throughout. Will take more piping though but probably worth it.
You are so right about that, i knew that already so until now everything go's to plan, and we will be there next week when they dig our 2 ponds and drill our 2 wells all professionals and no family or friends my wife understands that. Curious for your next update.
Great to hear you've got your plan in place - good luck with your ponds and wells. It's a big job! Hopefully the next update will show the corrections and we are back on track.
Should of go Ben from life in Thailand he’s good at blue pipe work😊
😂😂😂 Got the T shirt, dvd and the book.... I have suffered the same, as soon as your back is turned they start to skimp on things, even though you have bought the materials..... We have found a good husband and wife team who do things correct... Keep smiling Dave 😁
I hear you. It's a constant learning curve with this stuff.
Paid a builder 17,000 baht in advance at Pens insistence as he’s family, not seen him since but will work out if he does the work whilst I’m away as it’s quite a messy job lifting floor tiles that have beeb down for 5 years😂😂, I will never use family again.
Thankfully, these workers were not family. That being said, we did that on our last project. So, my fault for not learning from that experience.
Oh dear, these things are all sent to try us,I’m sure it will come right in the end ,good luck
Yes it will
