I very much resonated with President Nelson’s posture and insight. What struck you most about his talk?
His grasp of the Second Commandment is wonderful.
Only in the temple do we make specific covenants with God in a specific way. Through this process we are endowed with God's power to overcome Satan as we keep our end of those agreements.
Pastor Jeff! I’ve been following your hello Saints messages for a little while now. I have to admit after I watched the first video (first to me probably not the first you produced) I had to shake some personal pride and give you a second chance and I’m glad I did. I truly appreciate your efforts and example. I think it’s a big part of President Nelson’s talk you respond to here. It’s true I don’t quite completely agree on some of your explanations of doctrine but this is your format and nothing has ever been malicious or misleading on your part. That is something very rare and a great testament to you personally and your approach to your work. We have far more in common than not. Please keep up the good work, I think you’re doing much to benefit your fellow man and hopefully you are seeing the fruits of your labor in your own life. You have brought a deeper sense of unity and understanding to my life. One thing I noticed in this particular response. I think President Nelson would agree with your statement of contending is possible in righteousness. His line just missed one of your cuts. Just before he explains the covenant connection to being uncontentious, he says. “Now I’m not talking about peace at any price”… he knows compassion and tolerance doesn’t need to destroy convictions. Faith is standing as a witness at all times, including at times of trial and crisis of that faith. Thanks for what you do and how you do it!

I’m a nurse who had the honor and pleasure of working with Dr. Nelson, in the operating room he’s brilliant and very kind. Very soft spoken. I can honestly say Dr. Nelson always kept his operating room just as he stated. I love seeing him at 97 still very caring and the same man I knew, many many years ago.

I’ve always wanted to know more about how his operating rooms ran! I’ve been in surgeries and surgeons are most commonly so mean! so hearing about his operations makes me want to be there to see it in action!

Elder Stephenson gave a Conference address a couple of years ago by now where he said he attended a dinner honoring “Dr.” Nelson. Elder Stephenson said he was sitting at a table with other surgeons who talked about President Nelson’s demeanor in the operating room. These doctors reported that President Nelson never got angry and had a calm, reassuring operating room. These doctors said they did their best work under Dr. Nelson because of the atmosphere he created in contrast to other surgeons.

Evangelical here, and I agreed with just about everything he said. People of every persuasion need to communicate with more respect. People are too divided and hateful these days. Online, especially. We all need to remember there's a person on the other side of the screen. I know I need to remember that sometimes!
Yes. In the war of good vs. evil, those who want to do good are all on the same side.

Not just a doctor... he pioneered open heart surgery. His scientific innovations have impacted humanity in a large way. His career path also helped open up ties for his faith and Christianity in general in China. It is worth looking at the respective careers of these leaders. Their impact is quite remarkable.
My daughter is alive today because of the contributions of men like President Nelson. It really is a different calibur of human that will always have my respect. She had a few back to back heart attacks at age 7 and had a heart transplant few months after that. I will forever be grateful for our prophet President Nelson!
He also practiced well into his late 60s. He is a veteran. He also help pioneer tge furst geart/lung machine that now keeos people alive during heart surgeries.
None of these things mentioned in this thread make him a prophet. A prophet is tested by the Bible. And no one in the mormon church has ever abided by the biblical definitions of a prophet.

As a Latter Day Saint, I can honestly say, pastor Jeff, you are a shining example of what President Nelson is talking about, as a true disciple of Jesus Christ, how you treat people who you don’t agree with on all things.

What I like about this series is that Pastor Jeff DOESEN'T approach this with the desire to school all us Latter-day Saints. When he disagrees, instead of trying to debate us, he just says, I don't believe that. Instead I/we believe this. He's DESCRIBING differences. Not trying to prove his point. Bravo. And his view and subscriber numbers, which I have to imagine are probably mostly Latter-day Saints, attest to the effectiveness of this method of dialogue and influence versus the Bible bashing one. How many Latter-day Saints give any OPEN ear to those ministries dedicated to pointing out how we're dupes or victims or just plain dumb. How many even listen to them? Pastor Jeff probably gets 1000x the number. Has there EVER been an Evangelical outreach as successful as this one in getting Latter-day Saints to listen? I doubt it. And even if, at the end of the day, I still maintain my beliefs, Pastor Jeff has made peace, made friends, and helped the Lord make this world a better place.
"Belief" is a strange word. I define it very differently than most people. You cannot have a "belief" if you are indoctrinated and have been propagandized (successfully). Belief is only possible with independent thought, and you can't have independent thought if you are indoctrinated and propagandized - with the caveat that if you do your perception change work and deprogram and reprogram your indoctrinated and propagandized thinking. So what people call a "belief" really isn't a belief at all.

Prior to this series the only outreach I had ever experienced was when Evangelicals would come to campus (I went to Weber state and the U of U) every year and tell us we were going to hell and worshipped Joseph Smith lol (they said a lot of things but those were the most common). This is very refreshing and great to listen to.

Evangelicals in Puerto Rico have the same mentality but they act on that hateful thinking. They become verbally abusive. Are all of them like that? I don’t think so but they act so nastily that I wonder what are they taught in their churches.
Don't know if you've read this yet, but when he speaks of burying [our] weapons of war, President Nelson is referring to the people of Ammon in Alma 24 of the Book of Mormon. Their covenant to never again shed blood led them to bury their weapons and they refused to fight in any battle thereafter, even if it meant them being killed. Their story, and later in Alma 53 the story of their children, show their faith in Jesus Christ and their willingness to follow Him as peacemakers.
I was just about to post this very thing. This is one of the most powerful moments in the Book of Mormon of conversion from hateful and blood-thirsty to peacemaker, pacifists, willing to die in slaughter rather than shed blood ever again. Pastor Jeff, I hope you see this post, and connect those dots.

@@BayouBandit6 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to increase its membership. If you don't understand the scriptural influence of his message, then you can't accurately assign the reason for his message.
@Jason Emmers 20 years ago, I read this story and took action. I had been hurt by my family. I wrote down all of my hurt and anger on paper, then ripped it up, buried it, and vowed never to dig up those feelings again. It changed me.
@@rachelroberts6086 That's called forgiveness. Jesus tells an amazing parable about a servant who was forgiven, but refused to forgive and thus he was put in jail. Unforgiveness keeps ourselves in a type of emotional jail. Congratulations for setting yourself free!
Please remind your listeners President Nelson turns 98 in a few months. There’s testimony in that! And a whole lot of wisdom and life experience. Thanks for another wonderful conversation. The time truly has come for our faiths to better understand and respect each other. I speak as one who converted from evangelical to LDS many years ago. The persecution I received was intense but my conversion miracles were immense! Have never looked back but greatly appreciate and respect my evangelical friends and family.

I'll openly admit that just a few years ago, I really needed this message. I was super belligerent and even hostile to people online and, quite frankly, a complete jerk when it came to religion and politics. Admittedly, I'm not always perfect at being the pacemaker; I can get fired up when the conversion goes on for too long. But I'm incredibly grateful for where I am now in my efforts. I'm grateful for channels like this that remind me to build daily bridges of curiosity and understanding rather than setting the world on fire.

I would encourage anyone reading this to watch this talk in its entirety.
I have and it is interesting - as far as it goes. But will they remain peaceful when there are calls for world war 3 fairly soon? I find LDS does not have their words and actions in alignment. They are very much like con artists online who say the right words while doing evil actions.
I would not equate the two.
And watch it again and again.
Near the end of the talk, when he said, "I bless you to replace belligerence with beseeching, animosity with understanding, and contention with peace." I added in my head "and criticism with curiosity."

Pastor Jeff, this talk by President Nelson, is one of my all time favorites! It is a talk that can resonate with everyone! I love your commentary and your videos! Keep up the good work.
Because he is a prophet, his words are not just a nice sermon or good advice. They are living, ongoing and revelatory instruction for our day which carries with them the Holy Spirit of promise that when followed will create happiness in this life and joy for all eternity in the next. This talk changed me in ways I cannot put into words. It humbled me to my knees. It put so much of my behavior into my view that needs correction. It made me question in a more profound way “what are you doing with Christ’s gift of grace? Are you extending grace to others or falsely thinking you are justified in your behavior?” I am grateful for your work to propagate peace in your quest to learn about our faith. Keep up the good work!

Pastor, I enjoy the fact you are being open to the Mormon Church. I was a Pentecostal in my youth, in a subordinate church of the Church of God of Cleveland, TN, but have since left and have been looking at the Mormon Church for a while now. I like the fact that their talks generally do not take on the harsh tones that are common in Pentecostalism. Thank you for having this channel where deconstructing faith is a good thing.
This talk changed me, almost instantly. I was a very harsh speaker and leader at work but after listening to this talk, I became an entirely different person.

I love hearing this and it only comes from my own joy in finding the truth by living the principles and doctrines taught in this church. I have lived on the other side of itas well. You will probably not find greater opposition anywhere else BUT in this church! That fact, alone, further confirms my comviction of its truthfulness. The enemy of God will always focus his greatest efforts when the most dense concentration of truth is found. Because there is opposition in all things, look to where the sweetest fruit is found but surrounded by the ugliest persecution. Good luck, my friend.
The more LDS I know the more I see they can believe just about anything they want about anything, EXCEPT that the book of Mormon is true and JS "restored Christianity" as a prophet of God. Do your research. Can't say enough about the warm and kind people, but the theology is not Biblical (if that's important to you), not even their understanding of who God is and where He came from.
Pastor Jeff, I truly believe you are a peacemaker. A true brother in Christ. We could all learn from you and President Nelson. IMHO.
As a lifelong member of this church, it's very heartwarming to see an outsider give such positivity to the messages of our church leaders.
As a born again Christian by God's grace alone, it is alarming to me that this well-meaning pastor coddles those following a false way.

@@dnzswithwombats I’m also a born again Christian. I don’t think he’s trying to coddle. I think he’s trying to relate to them in the hopes that he can eventually show them the important differences so they can come to being born again themselves. I think it’s a far better approach than just telling them they are wrong. I believe he’s trying to do this with the love of Christ. I just talked to a LDS person a little while ago and we shared scriptures about how we interpret them as far as the trinity goes. I understand now how he/ she is interpreting it. Now I have to research more and figure out how I can eventually show a LDS person to see the truth. I do that with prayer and God eventually gives me the tools to do it. It’s a far better approach to understand them in order to help them than to just point fingers and tell them they are wrong. Love the LDS people more than I do some born again Christians. It’s because of their community. It’s impressive. They are very loving and nurturing to each other. I haven’t ever seen that from any born again Christian community. Maybe you have but I haven’t. So I’m trying to help them to see truth with the help of God in the most loving way I can. We could actually learn from them when it comes to their love for each other..

Thank you for your comment on how you view the Spirit as an aid and help in driving away and avoiding contention. From the perspective of a Latter-Day Saint, I want to share that the reference to the temple helping Saints is done because we view the temple as a place of holiness where the sprirt may be felt more directly and in greater abundance. Thus, President Nelson's comments related to the temple are actually, at their heart, the same as yours about the Spirit. He is stating the temple can help because the temple is a place that will help people experience the Holy Spirit.

What I love of this Pastor is that he does not try to focus on the differences but comes from a purpose of understanding the differences and not correcting the differences from his beliefs. He is truly coming from a spirit of peacemaking. Thank you.
Truth is truth no matter who says it. Pastor Jeff, you are not my leader, but I still see truth in what you say. Contention can be avoided when one can accept truth when it is given. I love listening to your channel.

One thing I will add is that all apostles and first presidency actually leave their career to be full time apostles. So they actually leave their whole past job behind to serve God. I think they are the only ones. But every other calling in the church is career + church duty at the same time.
The other general authorities also do this, so the first quorum of the 70, presidency of the seventy, and presiding bishopric. I don't know about the general Sunday school, young men's, relief society, primary, and young women's, but I suspect they may also be. That being said, I know that some of them also have other jobs, so perhaps not.
@@KWade-bt4dc I think it is also important to know that for most of them, accepting a full-time church calling required them to make a substantial financial sacrifice. For example, my uncle was called to be a member of the 1st Quorum of the 70. At the time, he was an executive with a large, multi-national bank and served as the bank's leader in a South American country. Was he paid while serving in the 70? Yes, he received a stipend of what would be about $125k in today's dollars. He was making a lot more than that as a banker.
19:49 he recommends the Temple because it’s where we can go to shut out the world and sharpen our sensitivity to the Spirit. So I believe in your words too, and it doesn’t make us uncomfortable to hear your perspective and testimony. Thanks for sharing!

@@BayouBandit6 It's 10% for everyone; rich and poor. My income, at one time in my life, was only $400 a month and my rent was $200; spouse & 2 kids. I still paid tithing. I know that the Lord helped me make the rest of the money stretch. Eventually, my financial situation improved. Paying tithing is a faith thing and it brings blessings.
@@BayouBandit6 I’m not going to be tactful on this, I just do not know how. I do not think you had a full understanding and testimony of tithing. I have had times where I should not have been able to pay a full tithe, and yet I did and the Lord provided me a way to still pay my bills and feed my family.
That being said, still follow Christ as you believe, and we all will still meet in Heaven.
@@BayouBandit6 on the contrary in the New Testament we are told it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to Heaven. So you may have done this already, but if your in financial difficulty, it may be worth a visit to your bishop.
As a convert to the church in 1997 I have come to know that so many of these leaders that have been called to these positions from their civilian careers are just some of the finest men that I’ve ever known of. Even before they became church leaders, they did things that are all inspiring. Anyway, I think you’re doing a great job with your videos. I enjoy your commentary and you seem like a super nice guy.
Their words and actions aren't in alignment. They discriminate against others and it is vile and wrong. Venerating these human beings is not a good thing to do. They say nice sounding words while at the same time they are doing actions that are evil. It is really important to be able to see the difference and to understand that actions are for more important than words. To truly be peaceful one must give up all unpeaceful actions and that is what Russell Nelson does not understand.

James, I agree 100%. Recently my husband and I read through the entire series of the Teachings of the Presidents of the Church. Each book covers a bit of the man's biography, which showed me time after time the way the Lord prepared these men to be ready to eventually serve as His holy prophets.
These books have increased my testimony of the office of prophet in general, and helped me to absolutely adore and respect each of them as individuals and as servants of God. When people ask me now who are my heroes or whom I would like to meet on the other side of the veil, every one of our latter-day prophets comes to mind. (Well, maybe not Brigham Young. I have a few personal issues with that guy, but I still believe he was called as a prophet because his specific talents were needed at that time.)
I am sincerely impressed by LDS leadership. I've been doing my own research through all Christian denominations and, with all honesty, I've not found in other churches the outstanding profile, character, and integrity I find in LDS leadership. Not even close to be honest. And I see this Christian character impregnating all levels of members of the LDS church. I still have my reservations about many different topics, but to be fair, one cannot simply ignore such abundance of good fruits that comes out from this church.
I have been blessed to interact with amazingly wonderful people in the church, my whole life. There is no question in my mind that these leaders became the people they are, because they sought the lord in their life, their entire lives and kept their covenants.

@@calebperkins2624 Why the affront? There are many like me that are open to learning more about different Christians denominations/groups. I was raised Roman Catholic, but for theological reasons I decided to explore more about Christianity in general, its history, different expressions, and traditions. A year ago I became a catechumen in the Orthodox Church and met wonderful people there as well. But again, theological reasons prevented me to give the final step. I have then continued my journey and have learnt a lot about all main denominations and some others not in the mainstream of Christianity. I like to see positive aspects of them all. I believe that God's compassion towards us manifests in the good fruits that they (different churches) indistinctly can produce despite our human limitations both intellectually and spiritually. I have also many doubts related to the doctrine and theology of LDS church, and that is the reason why I have not decided to become a member. But as said in my original comment, there are many salient positive aspects that they, as a community, as a church, keep producing.
I would say get on your knees and ask God the Eternal Father in the name of His beloved Son Jesus Christ by the power of His Holy Spirit if this is Christ’s Church. Heavenly Father will bare testimony to the truthfulness of the Church. I asked at age 32 after struggling with the loss of my only son 11 years prior. It was the greatest question I ever asked Heavenly Father and it has changed my life for eternity.

When I listened to this talk when it was given you came to my mind. You’ve been a great example of how to respectfully engage with others who hold beliefs different from your own in a kind and respectful way. Your way certainly takes more patience but it is so much more effective as the success of you channel demonstrates.
I love learning about other religions. The more I learn, the more love I have for those not of my faith. Thanks for being a peacemaker through the videos you share about my LDS faith. I'm so glad that we can support and strengthen each other through our faith and love for Jesus Christ.

I would like to say the way in which you have been able to learn as well as lend your ideas and belief is absolutely amazing! It has promoted a two way form of learning that is both critical and respectful! Sadly this is far to rare these days.
I agree. It has shocked me how much peacemakers like Pastor Jeff have been attacked and from all sides. Evangelicals, LDS, and exLDS have attacked him calling him from wolf in sheep's clothing to apostate. The vitriol at times is painful to watch. Some have said he is a wolf trying to pull Evangelicals into the LDS Church and Latter Day Saints into the Evangelical Church. To being on the LDS Church's payroll to being a heretic. I have told both Evangelical and Latter Day Saint friends that Jeff is trying to build bridges.
If we view each other as enemies it does not please God. I am thankful that not every Evangelical nor Latter Day Saint feels like this. But sometimes its the minority that speaks the loudest.
Jeff has helped Evangelicals like me to see a common ground with Latter Day Saints despite our differences. And that we can have thriving friendships.

Hi! I'm part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I'm so glad you decided to take a look at this talk. It was my favorite one at this past General Conference. I'm always curious to see how you will react to our teachings. Thank you for being so respectful as you explore and for sharing your own perspective as well. I've been a part of the church my whole life and don't have many interactions with other Christians so it's very interesting to hear what you believe, even if I don't always agree with you. Thank you for what you do!

I feel that President Nelson touched on something something that Jeff has done with this channel. President Nelson said that we need to disagree with respect and love. I think that is what this channel is all about considering that the "modo" of this channel is to fight criticism with curiosity.

Important side note; the Prophet (President Nelson) is nearly 98 years old. We believe that God controls who leads his church, because only God has complete control over life and death. The agility and vibrancy of life in this man is a great testament to the strength God can grant to his chosen leaders. I hope everyone can feel the peaceful spirit and authority that this man carry’s with him. What an inspiration it is to have people like this giving guidance in a world full of darkness and sin.

@@sandyblack1429 Someone who starts a new church, like planting a garden. The Holy Spirit directs people to areas to help reach others for Jesus (in this case).
These are some pretty good take aways from President Nelson's talk. I've really enjoyed watching Hello Saints and understanding the Protestant perspective on our faith. I served my mission in Iowa where there aren't many members of the church. I appreciated the conversations I had with other Christians. We are going to have differences in belief, and that is totally okay! Respectful dialogue is still possible, and there is so much we can learn from each other.
I have spent lots of time in the New Testament this year. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart. I'm so thankful for His kindness. He is the Prince of all our peace. Let's choose to be peacemakers and show compassion as He does. The best is yet to come!
This was a beautiful message from President Nelson. I felt a drawing of the Holy Spirit to accept the message as coming from Christ ❤️ I'm no longer a member and it touched my heart ❤️

Indeed it is a message coming from Jesus Christ who is the head of the church and he leads and guides it today. The Gift of the Holy Ghost was given to you as a comforter and to teach truths and bear witness.
If you have ever received your Patriarchal Blessing, I encourage you to read it my dear brother. That is God's blessings to you to help you navigate this wicked and evil world. If you no longer have it, you can always request a copy. Reading and studying mine have helped me tremendously with the blessings bestowed upon me. Jeff is a great voice of interfaith dialogue. I am an Evangelical/Messianic Jew and and what Jeff has done is building bridges and breaking barriers between differentt faith traditions. Years back I remember a similar bridge being done between Messianic Jews, Evagelicals, and Seventh Day Adventists. This conversation that Jeff is doing along with Kurt Francom, Greg Madsen, Dave Boice, David Snell, and Steve Pynakker is needed.

I have been so frustrated with the LDS view of real Jews because they believe they (LDS) are the new Israel and all non-LDS are gentiles (including Jews!), and Jesus is returning to Missouri, not the MIddle East. I just have a hard time bending my mind around that, especially since my husband is half-Jewish and we've been studying the Bible and following Jesus as Evangelicals for over 50 years.
@@janetspiritofthelivinggod6328 I am myself a bridge being both Israeli (descendant of the tribe of Naphtali) and Hispanic. I am a follower of Yeshua and for many years was hostile to American Christianity with all of its holidays that are outside of the faith of the Way. However I have learned that when Yeshua/Jesus is at the center of the conversation and we speak the truth in love (and open to understand) then the Spirit of truth will flow.
In the East it is happening in the underground that during severe persecution it is becoming like the book of Acts alk over again. The gifts are manifesting and Yeshua is appearing in visions to Muslims calling them out and bringing them to missionaries and local Christians who share the Gospel with them. They leave Islam and come to faith in Jesus.
Some of the most prominent have been Nabeel Qureshi, Abdu Murray, and Hatun Tash among others.
One of my favorite websites is beyeperfect.org they are a great example of Scriptural understanding of how great of a Humanitarian Heavenly Father is.
@@janetspiritofthelivinggod6328 One thing I did forget to mention. The idea of Church replacing Israel is called replacement theology and started among the third century philosophers in the Early Church.
The earliest Christians and the Apostles were against such a view. The Apostle Paul spent time in Romans attacking this "soft" attack on Israel. Those of us who are of Israeli descent while accepting that yes we dropped the ball are still the natural olive branches. As Paul said Gentiles who come to faith are wild olive branches grafted onto the natural olive tree.
Gentile Christians are the other sheep that Yeshua reffered to. It is so painful to see ancient problems resurfacing in modern times.
It isn't just LDS that hold this view though. Roman Catholicism, Seventh Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as many Evangelicals also hold replacement theology as a view. Its a complete disregard of what the Apostl Paul taught in Romans.
The adults in my ward discussed this talk today during Relief Society and Elders Quorum. This talk has impacted me greatly. It helped me to cross the hurdle to forgive a couple of people.
So good! This talk inspired me to seek forgiveness and ask for it in return. I was able through Christ to mend some fences or maybe more appropriately to tear some fences down. ❤
18 years ago I forgave the fellow who ran a stop sign & killed both of my kids. The 1st was the 1st bad day of my life. The 2nd was 1of the best days of my life.

As a Latter-day saint preparing to serve a mission, I've thought about how no matter what sect of Christianity you come from, these are the types of things we need to agree on! I think it's easy to forget that we're all focused on Jesus Christ here, even if it's approached in different doctrinal ways.

The resume's of the church leaders are amazing. Doctors, College Presidents & Educators, a State Supreme Court justice... it's a wide variety of life experiences.
As for the "contention" of which President Nelson speaks, look no further than social media, 'cancel culture,' and even the protestors outside the Conference Center, who yell and scream at attendees.

He refers to the temple because it is a place where we can feel the spirit strongly without worldly distractions. We still lead our lives by the Holy Spirit.
And likely a simple reminder of the deeper covenants we make, holding us to a higher bar - we should know better.
President Nelson retired a while ago and was called as an apostle. When you are called as an apostle you are an apostle/prophet for the rest of your life.

I’m sure every fair minded Latter Day Saint that views your videos, feels a sense of gratitude for the dignified way you have so graciously addressed the subject of our beliefs while still standing for and articulating your own.
However, there is another dimension to this journey I feel needs greater recognition - that is…
…we Latter Day Saints are being given here a beautiful and easy opportunity to better understand and relate to our Christian brothers & sisters counted amongst the Evangelicals and main stream Christianity. In other words fellow Saints, let’s extend through this and other channels the same graciousness in listening, as we are here being given to speak.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I would like to express my gratitude for your taking the time to listen to general conference talks, and for the respectful manner in which you communicated your opinions on President Nelson’s talk.
I want to say that all members of the first presidency, and the quorum of the 12 apostles worked their own professional careers and still do not get paid for the work they do in their church calling’s when they are called to be an apostle etc. They testify of the Savior Jesus Christ without being paid to do so. No one ,regardless of their calling from teachers, bishops and up to apostles and our prophet do not get paid for the work they do in their calling.
God bless you pastor ,and may you know always the Love our Savior Jesus Christ has for you.
I have had friends of other faith tell me of verbal mistreatment that they have had from members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have recommended that when they are in those situations that they simply ask, “Is this what your Church teaches?”
Pres. Nelson has clearly stated the official position of the Church. The comment section is a place where we demonstrate the degree of our obedience.

We do not take it upon ourselves to appoint titles as the rest of the world does. We rely on the one true God and there is no competition at all. We are guided by the Holy Spirit of God in all that we do. Jesus Christ is the head of his church which is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints.

I'm a Latter-day Saint and I work with an interfaith group, and I really appreciate Pastor Jeff's method and example. I have begun my own attempts to combat criticism with curiosity and it has yielded tremendous results with my co-workers of different faith backgrounds. I have come to understand a great deal more about what they hold sacred, what motivates them, and what we share. It really helps from a work perspective and also on a personal note. At the moment none of my co-workers are Evangelical or Protestant, so watching Pastor Jeff is a great way to better appreciate those viewpoints and perspectives.
When he refers to the temple he is saying that when you go there we find peace and separation from the world. Thus finding and feeling the Holy Ghost.

For years and especially when I was serving a mission in the bible belt of America, I never understood how true Christians could be so close-minded and even combative and in some cases mean instead of learning that we all are following Christ and should work together to do His work and combat the real enemy and adversary ...NOW more than ever. We need more true Christians to have courage and stand up in a Christian way to proclaim His words through our actions! I love that Jeff points out that Jesus told his diverse group of (non-professional church-leader) apostles that they would be known as his disciples by their love for each other... And he also points out that Latter-day Saints have a diverse group of (non-professional church-leader) apostles. We know they love each other. By this, we can know they are Christ's disciples.
As are Christians the world over who love one another.
