I've had a 2000 4runner for about 11 years and i should've had the frame rust repaired a couple yrs ago. (I should've maintained the frame and undercarriage better. New england can be tough on vehicles, & i shouldn't use excuses, im a big jerk.) I would love to find someone who could use the rest of my truck. Harvey, is w i named him, there's gotta be something salvagable worth pick'n. I had the timing belt done 2.5 yrs back, there are a few quirks, eh carpeting (stains & old, rip it out $1,200 for new stuff) also some aging overall. On a good note it's a SR5 limited edition, smooth seats, moon roof, (im convincing my husband that i can keep the cd/tape deck/fm,am radio combo forever.) so no radio sorry, about 190,000 miles on it but like i said timing belt recently done. I wish i could aquire another 4runner from this era! (2nd or 3rd generation)😁 I have so many great memories with mine, Harvey's basically a part of my family so it kinda feels like I'm grieving for the loss, i know it's just a BS material possession, a damn car, 11yrs is a hefty chunk of time. I feel very blessed for many reasons so my emotions are justifiable. Hey it's USA & im lucky enough to have a job to get back & forth to. The new ones seem like space ships, but then again the world has passed me by while i cruised everywhere in a truck that has fit me like a glove, has held out so tough for a good measure of my life. I have to let it go soon. 😭 One more point to add. The ABS mecanism & what is odd to me, feels more like actual loss of control on loose terrain or icey conditions & is a weird experience to have driving a 4runner. I've read thru alot of forums on this & spoke to my mechanic, says some Toyotas & some abs settings are like that, so i know im not the only 1 it's happened to. Good tires are important! Also dont follow to closely no matter w u drive.
The 4x4 almost never goes out and if so shouldn't be more than a 200 dollar fix This truck is basically perfect it has awd multi mode and rear locker so much want
Finally I found one with no frame issues I just pick it last night ., I pay 💰 $7000 for it
14 years after the generation stopped
Production I still notice so many of these on the road running strong.
This was my first car! Still running at 300k miles!
Taylor Gagnon how many miles is it on now?
How about now?
Oyeah, and how often does the 4x4 go out? like completely break or need to be repaired? is it really costly?
I just bought a thunder cloud 02 a lot of fun driving it
Just bought this car...i'm excited
+arisyn89 How has it been? I'm picking mine up Tuesday!

just wondering, how capable is the 4x4 when needed? e.g. snow, dirt, mud, trails, light trails, some off roading, etc?
+ken meas Extremely capable; these trucks are still up there with the best in terms of off-road performance.
