My beautiful wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Peabody. The room was magical and had an incredible view of downtown Memphis. The ducks being ushered into the fountain was a highlight and the bar was great with snacks, booze and interesting guests from all over the world. You can't "do" Memphis unless you "do" the fabulous Peabody Hotel.
I just had my wedding reception there. It was amazing and my family loved every minute of it. It will be an evening I will never forget for the rest of my life.
An absolutely beautiful hotel and staff. My wife and I enjoyed touring the property and looking at all of the historic relics and areas that made us wonder what it was like to go back in time. The ducks are most definitely the high light of the property.
A special building that has witnessed countless celebrations, fundraisers, and memory making occassions. Those memories recall provoking profound feelings, highly illuminated, ans with a clarity of yesterday. There's something mysterious about the Peabody and it seasons all who spend time on or under its roof. Countless times and each special, truly left a mystical residue. Don Rickles, a family friend, always preferred to stay at the Peabody when working his engagements in Tunica. People around the country speak of the Peabody whenever the subject of Memphis is mentioned. Truly one of the brighter references to the city, a city that clearly needs a point of community collective harmony and a reprieve from the hopeless attitude of ever living in peace with secure comfort. That begins with adjusting individual egos, beliefs, and attitudes. ☮
I love this building! I was there for the lighting of the tree today. Not that I saw it, or the duck march. :( but what he said is true, hotels these days are only about being a big chain. Not quality or charm. Just walking down the halls was inspiring
