I hate it when someone says that the M16 is worse than the Commando. I seriously feel like slapping them in the face. It's basically the CQB version of the M16.
+StealthygunnerX ' CQB version? 37.5 meters is quite good, and covers the majority of your engagements in Black Ops. The M16 suffers from a very low overall fire rate, and it banks too much on one burst kills. If you can't make it happen, the M16 is easily one of the worst assault rifles statistically. Its advantages are too niche and specific, and its weakness of a low fire rate overall is impossible to ignore.

If you're accurate, the burst and semi rifles are for you, if you're decently accurate, the Commando, AK-47, Enfield, and other full auto, medium fire rate, weapons. Then there's the Steyr AUG and the FAMAS for the "I can't hit a broadside of a barn with a sniper rifle" people. They're basically the same things, but one of them has more recoil and the other one is still pretty overpowered.

Their two shot kill ranges are equal to a typical assault rifle's three hit kill range, and if you have a decent enough trigger finger (400 RPM or better), you have one of the strongest assault rifles in the game. Not as forgiving as a fully automatic assault rifle in CQC, but there's acres of potential. The AUG and FAMAS are easily the least accurate assault rifles. The FAMAS has equal kick values to the Commando and Enfield, but has a higher fire rate, and lower centerspeed. The AUG has the same recoil profile and centerspeed as the AK-47, with an extra 187.5 RPM. Both assault rifles have recoil which accumulate quickly when spraying. For me, the M16 just isn't worth it. It sacrifices so much in the rate of fire department for just an extra 12 and a half meters of 40 damage range. Black Ops is jam packed with smaller sized maps, and sightlines where that extra twelve and a half meters actually kick in are very rarely used. I see the M16's strength, but it's in an area few dare venture.

I don't see why Treyarch made two different weapons with the exact same ammo count, damage, hip fire spread, etc, but the FAMAS has predictable recoil while the Steyr AUG doesn't. I find the FAMAS to be a popular tryhard weapon and I personally think the AUG should have been the only high fire rate, CQB assault rifle. The FAMAS is just a very easy to use weapon and its so overpowered when people use perks like ghost pro and even scavenger to make the spray and pray last longer.

So it turns out there's a major statistical oddity on the Commando. When using the Masterkey, the Masterkey has less ammo than normal, and the crosshairs expand while on the move. The Masterkey on the Commando is far weaker than the Masterkey when equipped on any other assault rifle. If you ever want to use the Masterkey, never put it on the Commando.

@manuel16janica very vague number. There is some math behind it, but loosely guns have a number that determines how fast the gun recenters. Generally between 1100 and 1800. The higher the number, the faster it recenters.
***** Commando has less gunkick and what I find to be a much cleaner back sight. The front sight isn't too bad in my experience so I consider the Commando and AK to be equals on the iron sight front. To me the Commando is an AK-47 with less gunkick and faster reloads.
The interesting thing is that statistically the Commando is supposedly just a reskinned ak-47 w/ different irons and better reload times. Yet, I'm significantly better with the ak, and I find it to be much more accurate with a suppressor. I lose enemies at long ranges here n there with the ak's irons, but still, I think I only have like a 3.3 kd & 17.5% accuracy w/ the commando, but a 4.5 & 18.5% w/ ak. Love the ak.
AK all day. With 40,000+ kills with 20% overall accuracy, attachments for scavenger class ext mag, for flak jacket class eg nuketown, firing range duel mags of course. And finally gold camo! Cause why not, and talking about gold camo's IMO the AK47 is the best in BO1

I have someone on my PS3 friends list playing a Modern Warfare 3 Beta, she hasn't told me much about it though. I don't know how common that beta is (she said she wasn't supposed to be playing it), but doesn't that mean that it's at least in the works?
It's mostly the same animation as the SCAR-H and SCAR-L. The magazine is released when the gun drops, there's a pause while the new magazine is prepared, then the magazine is inserted. Unlike the SCAR animation though, the magazine isn't smacked after being inserted. For an empty reload, there's an addition tap to the side of the weapon at the end, which is the safety being released.

Same recoil too, the visual kick on the AK is a bit higher though so that makes using it a bit more difficult. If you dont mind the sights bouncing go for the AK for the sex factor, if you have trouble with the visual kick go for the Commando.

Something that I would like to see for the next Call of Duty is the ability to attach a kill streak load out with the class set up because my game play changes with different setups whether is be a stealth class or a run n gun class. Plus its hard to change the kill streaks in between games.
It can often lead to panic knifing and due to the weird hitboxes, knife lunges and lag compensation can cause you to die quite frequently without any way to defend yourself.

I like to compare the commando to the galil. It has better recoil, an amazing iron sight and more ammo because of the extra 5 rounds in each mag. Only downside is the reload, which is easily remmedied by soh.
@manuel16janica center speed is how quickly the gun returns to where it was at before you fired the gun. the higher the number the less noticable the recoil and the faster you can tap it at super long range.
not after 5... its about 10. anyway it takes 2 shots to the head and 3 to the chest. not 4 shots to the chest and 2 at the head. what looks more realistic in terms of damage now?
I do like suppressor on this particular gun. Sure it lowers the range, but if your a run and gunner like me, then that doesn't really matter. I also like red dot and or dual mags:)

Try this gun with Extended Mags, Sleight of had Pro and Scavenger Pro It turns the commando into basically, a 270 round belt fed SMG with 40-30 damage, low recoil and great irons. Its almost overpowered

I would go with the AK-47 since most of the maps are close quarter combat. Sure the AK-47 to me has slightly higher damage than the Commando but slightly higher recoil. I would say the AK-47 is also decent when hip firing due to its high damage of the bullet.
It is because since most weapons (excluding shotguns and snipers) require a certain amount of bullets to kill while the knife you can either be in the vicinity of your enemy or even flat out in front/behind only requiring that one lunge. That is why it's still an issue giving you an unfair kick to the urethra.
Scavenger, warlord, and tac mask. Use RDS/reflex and a silencer, put on nova gas and throw that shit at choke points. You'll be winning countless games and getting a KDR that's good enough. It's a great gun no matter what you do with it, but this setup works best for me.
They are basic clones of each other so you can choose whichever you like, the only differences are minimal and personal preference is really differenciated. As i said, try both, then see which you like better :)
But.....But....But....I do so well with the ACOG with this gun. I get so many kills from far out. Also as to your views on the makarov.....I killed a few snipers across the map with it. I am good with the "Bad" guns. I suck with the Famas and AUG. I do ok with the Galil. My preferred guns are AK-47, Commando, Mac 11, HK, M60, Stoner, and Spas, my handguns are Makarov and Python.

But, if my goal is to defeat the people who like to "defend" certain areas of the map, I would rather bring a Fragmentation grenade, a Semtex, and an M72 LAW Rocket. The AUG is just a weird weapon that most people dont see in the news with any allied forces so why not take this cool weapon as a bad guys and the M-16 for good guys is because its a "True Blue American badass weapon" that shows super patriotism because its been around for so long in american history just like the M1911 pistol

AK is better for mid range combat, Commando is better for mid to even longer range combat.
In my CoD "carrier", I started with MW3. Im used to getting rewards when you prestige. Do you get anything when you prestige in Black Ops?

the Colt Commando was the full auto version of the early M16, it was usually used by special forces

I disagree the silencer is solid on the Commando.

A lot of people hated the perk in MW2 (myself included, though the pro version was nice) However, the commando rifle is one of my favorites.

Actually it's the CAR-15 which is like the modern m4... But this one has flip up sights rather than the fixed/carrying handle sights
the center speed is the speed at witch the gun settles back on target.

Commando is my favorite AR, and one of my top guns. I like it with the Red Dot Sight and the Flamethrower.

Commando is a fan favorite, I'll admit it is a little up and down sometimes but mostly is AWSOME!!!

The commando is much like the M4 good for any type of map and game type.

With my commando in black ops I use the acog w silencer for stealth and when I need to smoke out a camper I use the grenade launcher w slight of hand
