  • Fermentation is probably the most important part of brewing, and a good fermentation comes down to good yeast. Making starters can drastically improve homebrew as well as allow us to grow yeast we find in commercial beer bottles, drastically increasing the amount of awesome yeast we can use.
These techniques aren't very hard and we really recommend giving them a go. Let us know how you got on in the comments. Please do like and subscribe!

I bottom harvested 500ml from my conical fermenter 6 days ago & it went straight in the fridge.
I plan to do another brew of the same recipe again tomorrow. Do you think I will need to make a starter from the harvested yeast or do you think it will be ok to use as-is, as it is less than a week old?
Great video by the way. I've already subscribed & hit the bell 🔔

For most beers that should be fine to throw in, it's got a good volume and is less than 2 weeks old. Thanks for your support!

      @@KegThat Quick update.
Yesterdays brew went into the fermenter & the S05 yeast collected from last weeks brew was pitched at 6pm. Airlock activity by 8pm & its been going strong ever since. I vent the co2 through a blow off tube & airlock then through the keg to be used for the brew so it will be fully purged ready for a closed transfer in a couple of weeks.
