Why would RO water shock the yeast?
I have dry pitch my yeast for several years no issue
this makes a lot more sense to me that people who run a stir plate for 48 hours or similar ... I mean it is yeast and water, it isn't like they hate each other and you have to force them together like oil and water.
I tend to use boiled cooled water, and i'm just wondering now there's no oxygen in it. Do i need to shake it up or use a stirplate for a rehydrated yeast packet?
in the ideal scenario i'd say a stirplate but if you don't have one you could manually stir it by movement with the erlenmeyer flask
