  • Indigenous Minister Linda Burney failed to meet with Indigenous Elders from the ‘No’ campaign in Canberra because they would “be straight out and tell the truth” about the Voice, says ‘No’ campaigner Cheron Long.
Ms Long said she went to Parliament to say not all Indigenous Australians think the same about a Voice to Parliament.

Where does it leave this issue going forward ? Is this a one-time-only deal. Nobody I’ve spoken to has any idea of what this is all about, but I’m getting the feeling that it will fail.

Very brave of the quietly-spoken Cheron for travelling to Canberra and speaking her reality of what happens in her community and others in NT, WA & Qld. As a country we should be protecting and helping our most vulnerable regardless of skin colour.
When I started as a first year journo in the NT I was appalled that woman and children were being hurt or murdered on communities but we weren’t allowed to speak about. Nearly 30 years later it’s still happening and it’s shameful. Adults have some say in how they want to live their lives but children don’t.

The Voice is a race based position.
The Voice will not be unrestricted because of race.
The Voice will literally be restricted especially because of race.
By definition The Voice will employ segregation and discrimination.
By definition The Voice is not open to all Australians.
The Voice is exclusive and race based, and has no place in a modern democratic, representative political system.
The Voice exercises segregation: the policy of keeping one group of people apart from another and treating them differently, especially because of race, sex, or religion.
A racially based position enshrined in a free and democratic nations constitution, inside the Australian constitution for whatever good intention is an anathema.
Human history, and Australian history has many examples, and instances of discrimination and segregation, being aware of this phenomenon might even help us avoid repeating such alienating, divisive, popular, crowd-pleasing, and overt virtue signalling.
The Voice fails to represent all Australians.
The Voice will embody structural racism.
The Voice will serve as structural racism.
The Voice will fail to represent the many different and distinct Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, each with their own culture, language, beliefs and practices.
Genuine accurate facts are not dishonest scaremongering.
Disagreement with any change that is not democratic, and is not representative, and will be discriminatory. This is now deemed racist?🤔
Why yes let us as a proud multi-ethnic nation Australia, undermine our modern representative democracy in favour of divisive, popular, crowd-pleasing, and overt virtue signalling?
    Why would we allow this?
How afraid and intimidated have we become in Australia?
The Voice is clear political virtue signalling, so preposterous, almost psychotically senseless in its misleading claim that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups have no existing functioning Voice in Australia. (There are currently over a thousand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Indigenous Australian representative bodies (Voices).)

One of the worst examples of journalism this country has to show. The presenter is so transfixed on rustling out an answer from this poor woman about whether the minister for indigenous affairs met with her or not. Completely glazing over the fact that this woman is saying her community don't even understand what the voice to parliament is. How can you oppose something you don't even understand, in order to have the opportunity to consider it? This is exactly how colonisers have ruled this country up until now: Keep the people isolated and uninformed, then use that ignorance to get them to say no to each other and halt progress.
The presenter just wants to use this as an opportunity to try and discredit the indigenous minister for not meeting with someone in Canberra. Notably, why would the minister attend a rally set up to say "no" to a cause she is advocating for? It doesn't make sense
There could be a raft of other reasons why a meeting didn't happen, and the journalist code of conduct stipulates that a right of reply should be given. But Sky News isn't interested in that, they're just a divisive smear machine at this point. Shameful, but unsurprising.

They shouldn’t of course, because to treat them so would be giving them more constitutional rights than any other Australian, which is exactly what the ‘voice’ is trying to do.

You're getting ripped off with this Voice referendum. It will not only be your undoing, it will be the undoing of all non-indigenous Australians also:
Received from a supporter - The real reason why the Labor Party are pursuing a Voice referendum.
      ....
In 1990, Federal Politician Kim Beasley made a statement in response to Senator Button's question in the Australian Federal Parliament about whether there should be a republic. His reply was: Kim Beasley Quote: "The United Nations has given the Federal Government a mandate of ownership for housing, farms, property and business to government control once the REPUBLIC has been proclaimed."
      ----
Because there is ‘No Contract’ with the Indigenous people of Australia, a republic would not be achieved because the ‘ORIGINAL’ Men, Women and children of this country are the lawful land owners and the government would be unable to take control over ownership of housing, farms, property and business, thus thwarting its secretive push for a totalitarian republic where you would own nothing and be happy.
This plan as you can see was already underway back in 1990. Every State in Australia has already sold off the Lands and Title Office, your original titles have been destroyed. The value of your property is in the TITLE.
