True Ballistic Chronograph - FX Outdoors Ballistic Radar Chronograph

- Imagine a chronograph that always works and that gave the actual ballistic coefficient of a round through multiple velocity readings; all in a compact portable package. No external triggers, tripods or external power needed, just a fool proof set up with all the information you will ever need for an accurate and true ballistic calculation.

This would be awesome with Father’s Day coming ❤❤
I use JBM BC calculator in conjunction with my LabRadar, but having everything in one package has definitely raised my eyebrows. Very cool.
Labradar is junk and the Labradar App could win an award as the most awful, poorly designed phone app ever conceived. Really hoping this kit works out
Labrabaco saves some of the tedium. You just zip up some LabRadar results and upload the zip file to Labrabaco after entering in the atmospheric data. With rimfire, where the target is closer than where the LabRadar can still track the bullet I have to trim the data to remove entries beyond the target distance, but this isn't an issue when the target is beyond where the LabRadar can still track the bullet.
I agree their app is junk but the Labradar and the data it provides is excellent.@@JohnDoe-hu9ve
This felt like I was watching QVC or the Home Shopping Network
Seriously Jon, your shirts are AWESOME.
I really like how the case is also the stand. Nice compact design.
This is amazing FX coming out with a new Chrono. I know the effort and time put into this will just only improve the shooting experience for all who use it.
Quityerbitchin'
incredible performance and that Grs stock is perfect without a doubt they are incredible products
This will definitely be going on the wishlist!
Looking forward to another innovative product from FX.
Good review gents, enjoyed the humour. Sadly still on pre-order here in the UK. Hope it works with my FX 'BB' guns.
Haha, how dare you call it a BB gun!!!... but yes, the range is from 400 - 4,000+ so you're golden. It's just your nerf rifles that will need a different chronograph 😀
@@FXAirguns Do y'all think it would work at any lower? I was wanting to rent one eventually and do some measurements on an airsoft rifle, but that would be down to about 300fps muzzle velocity.
I know the labradar claims down to 65fps, but they're also only good out to 100-130yd max for velocity tracking. Take into account a BB is even worse to track down to being a ball and I'd be surprised if it could do velocity past 40 yards (.177 says 30yd, so guestimating up).
With the True Ballistics Chronograph having the juice to track velocity out to 300yd, if it was able to track slower I'd hope it could see a BB out to ~100yd or so...
@@FXAirguns Cheers for the answer at least I did'nt mention airsoft, I have a 300 win mag with a large muzzle brake. How much will the brake affect the chrony, can you place the chrony forward of, or under the rifle? To avoid the stout back blast.
Love the compact factor of this unit compared to others on the market
Can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!
Need a promo code to soothe the bite of that price
I need one of these! Very cool.
Notice they leave the most important thing out ....So I will tell you $1000 🤬
Man I’m going to be sleeping on the couch for a while. I really wanted something like this for a long time
Great information guys! Can’t wait to try this out! I’m glad to see a company like FX coming out with equipment to challenge the norm!
I need one of these in my kit NOW!!!
So where can I buy one? I've been looking for a reputable site to buy from. Didn't see it on your website. I need to order one asap!
Great product! Great video! Great info!
Great review. Looks like I’ll need to sell my Orange Chronograph. Oh, and I really like Jon’s shirt!!!
Very nice. I will have to invest in one for my long distance shooting.
This is going to be a game changer. Hopefully right up there with Lab Radar
At least the Lab Radar is a reasonable price. This is way too much!
@@kiteboardkid If this turns out to be legit, I will gladly sell you my Labradar at that "reasonable price" and let you f#$k with it and its awful app while I capture shots with this.
Awesome product! Was thinking the next thing I needed to start saving for was going to be an FX wildcat with this releasing now I’m not sure what to get next! Using this to check for bc would be much easier than using the truing feature in strelok.
Awesome video, dudes and product!
Now this could be a serious game changer in tuning!
*I wished I bought the regular FX chronograph!*
_My Caldwell is working fine if you setup it right but it sure is annoying to use while target shooting_
This is a bit overkill for my kind if shooting but if it comes with Windows noise I might need it anyways 🤔
So how will it work on a shared range if its in constant tx mode?
This is great. If it had changeable battery’s it would be a must have
Its USB-C rechargeable - no need to change the battery. Battery life is immense as well!
@@FXAirguns it’s just the case of sending it back if something goes wrong with battery or when it’s life span is done. I prefer all my electronics for shooting to be user serviceable. I might still grab one not sure atm considering the lab radar is user replaceable. Currently using the dlx pro been wanting to upgrade the last few months
@WvMnts every battery is user replaceable there is a zero chance they are not using a off the shelf battery pack, and all it requires is some disassembly. But because it's usb 3 you can just use a external battery just like the lab radar. I will also say that the lab radar isn't as reliable as I would like and sometimes it has trouble triggering especially with .22lrs. it's pretty finicky to aim. I ordered this one as well to test but other reviews I've seen show it being far more reliable in comparison. This also gives holdover data built in.
Great video guys how does it know the cal if it only using the weight
Does this thing measure the temperature, pressure, and humidity or is it using generic values for that in its BC calculations?
I see from the manual it is just using static, made up values for atmospheric conditions. They should’ve just used one of the dirt cheap temperature / pressure / humidity sensors on the market and incorporated it into the design so the calculations would actually be correct. Oh well.
What about sensitivity at a crowded range. How good is it at picking your shot out of those adjacent to you?
When you are using the chronograph there is a peep hole at the top which you’ll aim at your target, you shouldn’t see interference. Obviously if your targets are touching or their crossing targets to shoot you may have an interference but it’s been tested on ranges without issues.
@@FXAirguns Thanks!
@@FXAirgunsWhat are the specs of the parts used? Radar GHz, type of chip, wavelength etc.?
Are they AVAILABLE now ??? Who is the distributor ??? How much $$$ ???
I wonder if their customer service is as bad as this commercial - ie no reply to legit questions, no incentives to purchase a 1st gen product with inherent ‘issues.’ Etc.
Had a lot of issues with mine. The screen flashes every shot, but it only gets a reading every maybe 5 to 8 shots. Tried everything. Going back to the shop. Shooting a .177 maybe thats the issue.
Questions: 1) How does it work out at a public range (interference/tracking) to select your bullet from others shot. This is a good reason to have an external trigger and more exact aiming. 2) If your phone "goes to sleep" does it lose its Bluetooth connection? (This is an issue with the LabRadar).
Very nice 👌 👍
Nice
What's it like when there is more than one shooter present, ie how does it know which gun is being tested.
There is a peep hole at the top to aim it directly at your target so it would only interfere if you both were shooting the same target.
Can the batteries be replaced down the road ?
Might require disassembly but it's also usb c charged so just plug a power bank in and battery for life
I have been checking for this product to be in stock because I was going to order it. So far the chronoghis proving to be vaporware, can't find it in stock anywhere Now Garmin has announced the XERO C1 Pro Chronongh for $599.00! $400 Less than the FX. Less money AND Garmin's solid reputation. I will wait for the Garmin unit.
You need to stop calling pneumatic air rifles Firearms unless you would like to be regulated as such remember the ATF is always watching my guess is you would lose lots of Revenue if air rifles are regulated under the ATF
This video we were almost exclusively talking about actual firearms. This is a product that though used with pneumatic rifles, is mainly targeted to powderburners.
Personal Chronographs have really changed the realm of what is possible in both airguns and powder burners.
Nice, I did a bit of a tweak on your pocket crony...(hope you don't mind) Quite a few users are having issues..(I do love it, Super handy) But the censor seems to like being square to the motherboard guys. Perhaps the shock pad is too thick for the connector? But so true, velocity data is where it's at for sure!... I do ELR air-rifle and make my own rounds plus test other peeps too. 270 yards sub 12 ft lb Using an fx impact mk2..... Love it...Only possible with good data or wheelbarrows of lead..Ha ha Admittedly, lots of my own carbon fiber goodies even I think the first structured carbon barrel system.....but what a foundation you have built. Thank you! What is the battery life and is there a USB port for us lead-flinging junkies? ha ha
