Ladies, I feel I need to comment here and apologise profusely about my inclusion of Jill Biden in this video. I had no idea that everyone hated her so much, otherwise I would never have featured her. I used images of her solely to illustrate style points about necklines!! I’m not politically motivated and I know NOTHING about American politics. All I can ask is that you forgive me for this blunder (and MANY of you have pointed this out in no uncertain terms - some of you have been rather upsetting) Please do not judge my channel, which is to help and motivate style for over 50s just on one mistake. Deirdre, I started watching your videos about a month ago & I just love your content! Im over 50, 5'2", & overweight (esp in the bustline). I always felt "frumpy" & self-conscious whenever I went out. After watching several of your videos, I bought a few pieces using your suggestions. I feel much more put together & confident. My husband even complemented me the other day with how I've been dressing! Keep up the great content!
My idea of heels is in the range of 2 to 2.5 inches, or medium ones, they give petite me extra confidence. I’m so happy that they’re now widely available, for the first time in my life, especially for comfy, but appropriate shoes for the office. It’s the one good thing to come out of the pandemic! I never could tolerate a pair of high heels, 3 inches or higher, I tried and tried, they give terrible arch pain. I think it has something to do with having very short feet, in my shoe size, the footbed angle is extreme in high heels.

Two garments that instantly makes me feel old a scruffy is an anorak in the rain or a zip up fleece. I do have both for dog walking, but keep them just for dog walking. The rest of the time I wear a wool coat or a lightweight fitted mac from Seasalt.

Lovely as always. I wish I could wear my clothes and pretty shoes, but after falling down the stairs then 3 months later, a weak ankle folded under on me and threw me down again. I lost about 30 pounds and walk with a cane now. You are such a joy to watch!❤

Hi Deidre. Don't apologize for how you built your content. You are charming and I love your styling tips, being 59 years old. There will always be people "hating" this and that. Hate is a strong word and a strong feeling. In my opinion it should be directed to those that have harmed you in person, not just like a mass expression for a public figure like Jill Biden, who happens to be on the opposite side of someones political standpoint. It would have been the same if you had shown photos of e.g. French President Macrons wife. How can you hate Jill Biden? She is a smart, caring individual who supports her husband. I actually had the pleasure of meeting her during the Obama administration. She took the time to chat and was very gracious!
I'll answer that. I'm a "Trumper." I don't "hate" anyone. Jill, to my mind, does NOT support her husband. She is abusing him by continuing to put him in situations he's simply no longer qualified to be put in. The man has slid downhill physically and mentally, yet she continues to prop him up, cover for him and push him to do things he should not be doing. People, not all "Trumpers," have been saying for YEARS that she's abusing him. Secondarily, it's well known that Joe took inappropriate showers with his daughter as a child, also that he trolled around naked as Vice President in front of female secret service agents in the VP residence, to the point where the Secret Service would not assign female agents there. The man has PROBLEMS. He hones in on small children everywhere he goes, gets in women's personal spaces and fondles little girls in front of their parents during photo sessions, it's all caught on camera. Jill knows all this. I don't HATE her for enabling his horrible behavior. But I do despise her for covering it up and allowing the PEOPLE'S WHITE HOUSE to be tarnished by the goings on of their horribly low class, low morals family. Call me a hater if you want. I'm repulsed by her lack of standards and she doesn't represent me or most of the country.

❤ Ty Dierdre,a practical great video. I went to Macy's,Dillards, and J.C. Penny to purchase a pair of good quality cotton slacks to match one of my jackets. I could not believe the only material in the dozens of slacks was "Polyester",😮 Ugg. We were brought up to wear cotton in the summer 🥵🌡️ and heavier materials in the winter🥶🧊. It seems, so they say, there is a shortage of cotton in the U. S.!! Thank you for the bra recommendations and the stores that are smart enough to sell cotton❤. We went in Macy's and they did not have any air conditioning on a 98 degree day, unbearable really😲😉

If we do not focus, over time we stoop forward and over time our hip muscles weaken. That's why you will see so many men and women stooping forward while walking from mid 60s on. Focus from hips up to keep hip muscles strong. Focus.

I do wear some “crop tops”, those that just cover my waistband (I’m short, so many work), it’s my favorite length. But not anything shorter, I don’t want to show my tummy skin. My once-flawless, creamy skin has age spots on the torso.

Deirdre, I started watching your videos about a month ago & I just love your content! Im over 50, 5'2", & overweight (esp in the bustline). I always felt "frumpy" & self-conscious whenever I went out. After watching several of your videos, I bought a few pieces using your suggestions. I feel much more put together & confident. My husband even complemented me the other day with how I've been dressing! Keep up the great content!

My idea of heels is in the range of 2 to 2.5 inches, or medium ones, they give petite me extra confidence. I’m so happy that they’re now widely available, for the first time in my life, especially for comfy, but appropriate shoes for the office. It’s the one good thing to come out of the pandemic! I never could tolerate a pair of high heels, 3 inches or higher, I tried and tried, they give terrible arch pain. I think it has something to do with having very short feet, in my shoe size, the footbed angle is extreme in high heels.

Two garments that instantly makes me feel old a scruffy is an anorak in the rain or a zip up fleece. I do have both for dog walking, but keep them just for dog walking. The rest of the time I wear a wool coat or a lightweight fitted mac from Seasalt.

There will always be people "hating" this and that.
Hate is a strong word and a strong feeling. In my opinion it should be directed to those that have harmed you in person, not just like a mass expression for a public figure like Jill Biden, who happens to be on the opposite side of someones political standpoint. It would have been the same if you had shown photos of e.g. French President Macrons wife.
Some peeps just can't lift their gaze and see the bigger picture and separate the politics from other topics.

I'll answer that. I'm a "Trumper." I don't "hate" anyone. Jill, to my mind, does NOT support her husband. She is abusing him by continuing to put him in situations he's simply no longer qualified to be put in. The man has slid downhill physically and mentally, yet she continues to prop him up, cover for him and push him to do things he should not be doing. People, not all "Trumpers," have been saying for YEARS that she's abusing him. Secondarily, it's well known that Joe took inappropriate showers with his daughter as a child, also that he trolled around naked as Vice President in front of female secret service agents in the VP residence, to the point where the Secret Service would not assign female agents there. The man has PROBLEMS. He hones in on small children everywhere he goes, gets in women's personal spaces and fondles little girls in front of their parents during photo sessions, it's all caught on camera. Jill knows all this. I don't HATE her for enabling his horrible behavior. But I do despise her for covering it up and allowing the PEOPLE'S WHITE HOUSE to be tarnished by the goings on of their horribly low class, low morals family. Call me a hater if you want. I'm repulsed by her lack of standards and she doesn't represent me or most of the country.

I could not believe the only material in the dozens of slacks was "Polyester",😮 Ugg. We were brought up to wear cotton in the summer 🥵🌡️ and heavier materials in the winter🥶🧊. It seems, so they say, there is a shortage of cotton in the U. S.!!

If we do not focus, over time we stoop forward and over time our hip muscles weaken. That's why you will see so many men and women stooping forward while walking from mid 60s on. Focus from hips up to keep hip muscles strong. Focus.

I do wear some “crop tops”, those that just cover my waistband (I’m short, so many work), it’s my favorite length. But not anything shorter, I don’t want to show my tummy skin. My once-flawless, creamy skin has age spots on the torso.
