The bust on the top is Mr Auguste Bain born in 1856, passed away in 1916. He became a cutlery manufacturer and trader. He is the inventor of the mechanical single-edged razor and the hair clipper. It made the fortune of Auguste Bain, for whom the family was able to build an extraordinary chapel, covered with sculptures. The statue with a dog is his son, Robert Bain, born in 1891 and passed away in 1904, at a young age of 13. As for the identity or meaning of the other two statues, a boy and a girl remain unknown.

Went in with a low fever 100.3 went to 103. You know when you're dying, they don't tell you. I have a cancer navigator, she watches over me and makes sure everything is on track. She said I was in her prayers every night. I'm Soo stupid, it didn't Dawn on me about all the stuff they were putting into me, something was serious. The statue of the still living lady is not a big secret. It is mentioned on the internet with picture and information. She organized it herself in 2008. Her name is also on the gravestone of her husband who is burried in a different cemetry. So she already creates some kind of mystery around her future death. Btw : I've been to père Lachaise several times and it is amazing. Thank you for your beautiful video!

The statue of the living lady is stunning...amazing sculpture work. I was not aware of this before the video, and this is not a practice i know of that is done very much here in the States. And why is her husband not with her? Hmm. But not just the statue of her, the amount of care, time, and attention to detail for so many of the gravesites and memorials here is amazing...every corner you turn its amazing...and each one is a persons history. Wow...could easily spend a lot of time there exploring!!

In Pere Lachaise, where twilight softly weaves,
A realm of whispers, where love never leaves,
Amidst the sepulchers and ivy's tender grace,
A sacred beauty in this enchanting place.
Ancient oaks, their limbs in reverence bow,
To guard the secrets of those resting now,
Each stone a saga, etched in history's embrace,
In Pere Lachaise, where souls entwine with grace.
Cobblestone paths meander through this sacred glen,
Where vows of ardor and tears return again,
Carved angels stand with mournful, watchful eyes,
While the world outside in chaos flies.
Oscar Wilde, in opulence, finds his sleep,
'Neath verses kissed by hearts that vigil keep,
Piaf's sweet song, forever in the breeze,
In Pere Lachaise, where legends find their ease.
Jim Morrison's tomb, adorned by fervent souls,
A rock 'n' roll poet, in sepulchral roles,
In the City of Light, his spirit still does roam,
In Pere Lachaise, where he's found his home.
Marble sculptures, aged by the weight of years,
Marked by grief, by love, and countless tears,
Yet here, 'midst fragrant blooms that gently rise,
Life and death waltz in profound reprise.
Tombs and crypts, an artful labyrinth to view,
A gallery of passion, of love renewed,
In Pere Lachaise, where past and present twine,
A timeless promenade, where souls entwine.
In the moonlit alleys, and the sun's warm embrace,
A saunter through Pere Lachaise, a sacred space,
Where the living and the departed merge in night,
In this cemetery of beauty, 'neath the Parisian light.

Found some information on the lovely lady who died in 1944. Found it in French and used Google to translate it.
    Mrs. Andrée says:
"In 1944, I live in the Montparnasse district, Lucienne lives in the Les Halles district where her father has a fruit and vegetable business. In August 1944, the announcement of the Allied's rapid advance led to a rumour of a near liberation of Paris.
A few days before the arrival of the French troops, the resistance fighters harmed the occupants. I often call Lucienne to tell her what is happening in my neighbourhood and Lucienne is enthusiastic and ready to live this moment that we have all been waiting for for a long time.
We made tricolour flags with what we could in the meantime. But it's also confusion. On August 20, 1944, Lucienne hearing an armoured sound, assumed that they were the liberators and went to her window waving her tricolour flag... unfortunately it was a German troop and a shot killed her Lucienne.
That's how we are a victim of what was supposed to be a moment of joy: the liberation of Paris. ”

George Rodenbach cause of death appendicitis at age 43. Typical reason for an early death in the days before antibiotics. His tomb is one of the best sculptures in Père Lachaise for me. Remarkable but not ostentatious, as some are clearly monuments to the family's wealth.

Thanks a million, as we say here, you can't bring it with you. Yet I find the monuments works of art

Very strange, there are some pretty disgusting photos online of practically naked women doing photoshoots with Victor.

That's interesting. They put a glass enclosure around Oscar Wilde's grave. That was not there when I visited in the 90s. There was a penis hanging from the man positioned on the side of the grave. It had been broken off. Looks like they didn't replace it.

It is believed that if a woman kisses the statue of Victor Noir on the lips, rubs the bulge in his trousers and drops a flower in his hat it will bring her enhanced fertility, and a blissful sex life. More specifically - if you want to find a beautiful lover, you should kiss Noir`s lips; if you want to get pregnant, you should touch his right foot; and if you want to have twins, you should touch his left foot. According to the myth, a baby will follow soon after and single ladies will find a husband within the year.
    I found this very interesting
