Very informative video I attempted to rebuild of my differential on a 1999 Ford F150 that rebuild kit I got from advance auto not good when coasting or foot not on the gas pedal it makes a pinion noise but I never could get the adjustment right with the shims, so I’m replacing the differential
Do the spider gears break from locking up the interlock or is it when it is not engaged? I only ask because my boss used totell me not to engage it, because he was afraid of breakage.
Curious how much does this type of overhaul cost? My rear ends have 1.5 million miles on them and have not been opened. Truck is a 2008 KW T660. Thanks.
Depends on what you have. Ds 404s exchange at 2,700$. Dsh 40s which is the same thing with a upgraded ring gear and thrust bolt go for 3,200 exchange. Also depends on if you want a rebuild with genuine parts or after market.

My truck has problem when I turn differential switch on I hear air does something but only one rear wheel spinning on passenger side. What can be the problem? What's need be checked or replaced?

Change the gear oil more often .!

Could be the powerdivider, if it’s the rear diff could be inter axle main diff, or diff lockers not engaging properly.
