The problem I’m finding with this is that there’s no official standardised Cantonese 拼音form which makes it really annoying to use… I grew up in international schools and I would say yut go for 一個 but iOS can’t understand unless it’s yat go. I would say ngo wui hui for 我會去 but iOS prefers o wui h… Moments like these it’s faster for me to just use mandarin pinyin which is much more reliable because it’s standardised
Thank you! I didn't realize that 粵拼 was available on iOS! I'm happy to see more official support every since Google started supporting it. I think a lesson targeting native speakers like my parents to use 粵拼 would be very helpful as well! My parents have adopted to 粵拼, but I see many of their peers and siblings still struggling to type in Chinese easily, relying on voice input + many corrections or handwriting
Hi, thank you for your helpful video. I am learning Cantonese with Jyutping, but I am not learning the Chinese characters. Is there a way to prevent the device converting to the Chinese character. This would be helpful for me to make notes as then I can use the text reader to read the Cantonese using text to speech. I can’t find a way to do this on either Mac or IOS though.

I didn't realize either. Someone commented under my videos and I picked it up :)
1:25 for some reason I don't have the option that says "phonetic"? Anyone know why?

When I go into the keyboard settings on my Mac, phonetic Cantonese is not shown as an option. Do you know if Apple removed this?
my cantonese input video got more views, but you got more subscribers.
