Diamondback makes amazing rifles. Every part made in house. Every part gets quality checked. I own two DB-10s. Great guns.
Took me YEARS of looking before I committed to getting an AR platform and the Diamondback AR10 was my choice. LOVE this rifle! Hundreds of rounds through and they've been on target and haven't have one single malfunction. A bit heavy for a rifle, but that .308 round means far fewer rounds needed!
I own one of these plus a DB 15, diamondback makes some great products. Quality is great, they’re just simply beautiful builds.
Picked my DB10CKMB on Wed. Took it to the range yesterday (Sat). 10 rds at 100 yds and I was grouping inside the 3 inch bullseye. No FTF or any other malfunctions. Can't beat the value!
I've had my ckmb for many years. Love it. Reliability is 100% and it groups great, even with Wolf. I'm looking at replacing the trigger, but don't want to effect function.
Thank you sir for your help. I wanted to learn more about my AR-10 and you was definitely super super helpful. God bless you brother and Keep On Truckin!
Just took mine out this past weekend. Shot flawless. The is an unreal value from Diamondback. If you are in the market. I highly recommend checking out this weapon.
I got the db10elb it is one of the cleanest shooting ar anything I've ever shot. Completely impressed with the diamondback quality. Also got the db15 and it is very nice as well.
Cheers I love mine. I put a Vortex Scope on it. And it's a good looking AR. I'm happy with it. 🏴☠️☠️🇺🇸
Just bought the 3.08 18" barrel burnt bronze model. It comes with a thick buttstock pad and muzzle brake. My dealer was very impressed with the quality, fit, and finish, and so am I! Put a Primary Arms 4-14×44 with the acs/hud, and can't wait to shoot it! Thanks for the video!
Great video! Just ordered this very gun except I'm having a 20" barrel installed. Keep up the good work. ...And thank you for your service to your country.
I own a DB 15 in fde. Have to say it's the best $600 ar 15 I have ever seen handled shot by far!! when I bought it they had only been out for a month or so...It's very accurate and RELIABLE as a tank...I have let many shoot it and most went and bought one of there own. The DB 10 is probably my next firearm purchase. Can't wait to see you shoot it.
+Fresh Fowler watch for that video to release next week
Graham Baates Sure will! Thanks!
Just bought the Diamondback AR-15 recently.. I'm truly in love. For the price there's no way that can be beat.
Liked the review, just picked mine up yesterday, and only wish that the hand guard had been installed with the loving care that yours was. Being a machinist by trade, I can say that who ever assembled mine was not as precise and if they have anyone in Quality Control, then this mine was missed.
Other than that, your initial review of the rifle is the same as what I saw. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and put it out here for others to see.
Just bought a 6.5 Creedmoor Diamondback and love it!
How accurate is it ?
Very accurate, have the same one in 6.5 with a gen2 vortex 5x25x50.
I just bought the same weapon, but I haven't had a chance to get out to the range.
crazy how well this man can explain these guns so even a novice like myself can readily understand them :-)
+Michelle Dooley thank you!
I'm a funky flair lover. You're a natural I can tell by how your lady outshoots you.
Just bought one of these. I think it's an outstanding weapon.
Hi Graham thanks for the demo. I have a diamondback db15. Pretty much like how yours. Just came with free floating m-lok and a Picatinny all the way across the top. Like you bought bought your A10. Except you got Magpul pistol grip, stock, an aluminum Barrel. My opinion is it looks beautiful. I have not encountered one so your video just made me want to get one. And Diamondback is price so well for their quality. I must have at least 4 to 5000 rounds through my 15 without a hiccup, not one. Of course I did what you're doing and upgraded everything. But I had that cheap pistol grip. So, I started with a pistol grip, Rogers super stock, I have multiple Optics so I'm really not worried about that, muzzle break, and an old QD sling. I'm done with that. So you're just starting have fun thanks again.
Oh, one last thing I have multiple Diamondback products and they leave a lot of residue at the factory so you got to really clean them good and I'm quite sure you did.
Diamondbacks are awesome, I have an AR10 6.5 Creedmoor and I love it
I just saw where Diamondback is making this as a .308 AR-10 pistol with a Shockwave Blade pistol brace. Whoa. It had a fairly long barrel for a pistol but that sucker is still going to be loud. Maybe not the most practical firearm, but I'm well beyond such pedestrian concerns as practicality.
its for competition shooters
I have two Diamondbacks and I really like them. The DB10 308 and the 300 Blackout. Both shoot great. Am I going to win any shooting tournaments with them. I seriously doubt it. But they good dependable rugged shooters. Not a single hiccup from either one of them. I know there's better out there but for the money can't beat em. I put Vortex Scopes on them and they do OK. I also have a Windham 308 SRC with a Vortex Scope and like it too. One thing is the 308's both Windham and Diamondback are heavy. You aren't going to want to run around in the woods all day lugging them but most 308's are if they are decent quality. Diamondback is a good hefty well built AR.
The db10 is a armalite style so long it has an armalite design you can inter change them so this is considered a mil spec. But for some reason dpms style is more popular don't know why but I prefer the armalite verion.
Bought one yesterday In 6.5 creedmore super excited gotta wait my 3 days paid 1331$ bare gun no scope like this one but has bigger flash head I hope it’s a good gun
I got the JP Silent Captured Heavy AR10 system (highly recommended) MOE Rifle Stock, Griffin Armament SNATCH AR10 Charging handle, and VG6 Gamma. I would recommend the DB10ELB to anyone looking to get into an AR10 for under 1K, with the parts I added and 8 Magpul 20rd Mags I am still well under other AR10's I was looking at. Grahm if you kept the DB10ELB I would suggest installing the JP Silent Captured Heavy for the AR10, I have had 100% reliability and the bolt always locks back. So far I have tried several loads in mine, all have been MOA or better, the best was Feder GMM 175
Found the 16" for as low as ~$760, planning to order one soon!
Thank you for posting this video. I've had one of these on layaway for a few months (sight unseen) and there hasn't been any information on this rifle and even after a few emails from Diamondback telling me nothing new.
I’m getting one of these. I don’t really like the 5.56 round. But a 308, that I can definitely own
I just got a 5.56 model from them, it was only $550 and its one of the best ARs money can buy for that price. It has the same barrel and bolt carrier group thats inside most of their more expensive guns.. its also solid as hell no wiggle. I would like a .308 or 6.5 creed as well but I didn't own an AR so I figured I'd start with a basic 5.56
@@mattb6646 I’m not knocking the 5.56 but I already have an AK
nice job. ive been impressed with DBs rifles lately.
they seem to be very nicely made.
i just recently bought a Daniel Defense DD5V1 7.62×51 as my battlerifle due to its fully ambi bolt control and other controls, impressive quality and awesome $1700 deal my dealer gave me!
im loving the DD but i would also like to have an inexpensive beater/truck gun in 7.62×51.
the DB-10 just might fill the bill.
as a basic AR-10 it seems to have most everything i need.
its not fully ambi like the $996 S&W M&P-10 but it is a bit cheaper and comes with a free floated handguard.
im also eyeing the Aero Precision and Delton 7.62×51 rifles in the $1000 price range.
im just glad there are that many choices for budget AR-10s.
I've always liked the AR-10, once owned an original Kentucky Arms ser#3506. Charging trigger in the carry handle.
Weighing about 7 pounds. Very accurate, very smooth. It's hard to find something that compares Because the buffer system is borrowed from the AR-15 platform. I wish there were someone who would build the original again.
Diamondback makes a fantastic quality lower ! ... I own a DB15 lower and added a PWS MK107 (Diablo) Upper (7.5") 7.62x39 and for the lower I use the MAXIM CQB PISTOL: PDW BRACE with a heavy buffer.....
Looks good. I'm partial to being able to easily take off the hand guards for cleaning, though. Of course, sometimes it took two for a stubborn M4...
Great rifle, great review!
I’ve always wanted a AR platform 308, and I Just picked up the DB AR10 today!
Your video is very informative, engaging and straight to the point. Thanks for the work you put in!
Awesome review brother that’s why I have one
No problems with my DB10ELB 208 as of yet and can see it on my channel
Well I did have one small problem which is keeping the stock castle nut tight but I have a tool coming from midway that will fix that
Might note they have a much thicker stock recoil pad and a bigger muzzle break now days and that helps a whole lot
That AR tool midway has is a
"Real Avid AR-15 Armorer's Master Wrench" kind of expensive but it has fantastic reviews so must be worth it
Just got a DB10 last weekend.
Congrats!
Will the DB-10 upper and lower accept aftermarket parts like other AR frames? Looking to put a Timney trigger, a MagPull stock, and a different barrel on mine, but not sure the DB is the same as an Armalite or Colt AR-10???
I need to upload a video of me firing this for the first time. First mistake was underestimating the firearm. The reason why i underestimated it was from word of mouth from others. (yeah stupid move on my part) Damn thing pretty powerful. That and with improper holding led to an epic fail. Up til now i haven't messed with any gun for about 12 years and the very first gun I've fired was a .38 followed by a .22 and a 9mm. Fast forward now and the first gun i bought was the taurus judge. Then a tristar bullpup which i haven't fired yet and now my diamondback db10.
Great & helpful video! Like & subscribed.
Welcome, we've covered a few hundred guns since this video.
Just got mine today...does it need a break in? The reason I ask is I charged and loaded it with 150g .308 Remington Green Box Ammo and the round locked up the BCG and action. I was able to remove the upper and pry the BCG back to eject the round. Hopefully gonna take to the range in a few days but don't know what's gonna happen. What are your thoughts and should I get it checked out first before I fire?
I was able to grab my DB-10 for $850. Heck of a deal
Which version did you two buy.
I'm considering the ccmlb.
Any advice for me since I don't want to get above 1g?
I got mine, 7 mags fully loaded, 100 extra rounds , equipped with red dot , and a nice carrying case for 400 bucks !! That's a steal
@@Jcasta8 just bought one today $1489 with the flat trigger. Score. They’re $1650-$1760 everywhere I’ve looked. Also in 6.5
@@RaceMentally you overpaid bud I grabbed one for 1350 308 flat trigger and ss barrel off Gunbroker
@@Jcasta8 308 not 6.5. Gun broker all has theirs for $1660 up. Nice try though.
Is the DB10 compatible with any side charging uppers?
Has anybody had any issues with firing Hornady rounds with this beautiful gun? When firing target style rounds, no issues, tried to fire some Hornady rounds and for some odd reason the gun has issues with firing it.
Remove the bullet and it has this little slash on it. When you fire it, there’s an issue with the next bullet getting in place for firing. I always clean it after ever use and I also hardly fire it
So it sits for a good while as well without getting oiled etc. would that cause a few problems? Or my gun just don’t like Hornady ammo? At the gun range I was told it was a manufacturer error and that the chamber most likely didn’t get machined correctly or something like that.
Possibly need to clean the chamber. Only fired 70 rounds so far with it
Actually I had trouble with hornady black 168gr. The gun would lock up and I had to mortar the DB10. It cycled fine when firing but would not let me manually eject the round unless I mortar the gun. So I took it to my local gunsmith and he simply polished the feed ramp and even extended the grooves of the feed ramp downwards just a tiny bit and now it cycles hornady black and ejects without issue. Cost me only $30 to have the gunsmith work on it. I love my DB10 despite the small issue.
@@mgmitchell92 thanks for the reply. I’ll have the gun looked at later on and have that done.
@@superc910 please send an update whenever you have it resolved. Take care brother!
Cool unboxing, DB10 looks cool to me. Now shoot it and do a head to head comparison with some other AR 762's.
+Jeremiah P shooting test is already done, that video will be out next week.
Did your front takedown pin feel loose from the factory ? It seems to push out very easy with no force
Reliability
I had good success with my first ar15 which was a db15
Curious to see it in action.
good video. thanks
(new subcriber)
+Joel Anderson thanks and welcome
I also have their db15, I know this videos 3 years old and prices were probably higher. I bought a 5.56 NATO, 16” barrel, with a 15” free float mlok handguard for I think $559 brand new lol
Just got mine today. Instructions want me to clean the chamber and bore after each round for the first 25 rounds. Did any of you guys do this?
No, that's an old way of breaking on a barrel. We've never followed that and never had an issue as a result
What kind of accuracy are you getting at 100y with 150 federal or fiocchi? I have been trying to find some accuracy results with this rifle
I have been researching this weapon and i'am thinking about buying one. Is this a good buy?
Kevin Brown I just picked one up 3 days ago. Took it straight to the range and put 60 rounds through it. It ran flawless. I only paid 849.99 plus tax. Great firearm at a great price.
J. NiZm0 thinking about getting one too but for 675 . I was wondering if it was reliable like a pa -15 or other ar varents
+justus gonzales it's plenty reliable, just don't expect it to be tank-tough or varmint-gun accurate
justus gonzales It is 100% reliable. I have shot surplus, factory, and my own hand loads through it without one single issue. I love it! Yeah sure there is a couple parts from stock that can be upgraded. But for an AR10 it does everything it is supposed to do. Hope this helps. It shoots my 168gr custom loads like smooth butter.
Graham Baates Great video! I love this gun.
So how does this stack up against the Stag 10s and if you can only buy one to bet your life on, which would you get?
What are the specs for the BCG? I'm in need of one for my DB10 elite. Can't seem to find the right one.
Can you drop in a standard AR15 trigger in one of these?
I have a DB10 Pistol. I like it. But it seems to not like steel case ammo. Have you had the same issue?
Needed to see this video thanks alot .
There are 2 version of ar10 you have the armalite version and they also have the dumps version that looks exactly like the ar15
Does anyone know what pattern the DB10 uses in terms of Armalite, DPMS Gen 1 or Gen 2? I am trying to build a replacement upper with a longer barrel. It looks to be the Armalite style, but I heard somewhere that they are made for DPMS parts. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.
Anyone know which pattern the receivers are for the DB10? I want to build a 2nd upper but in my country i cant just go and buy a Diamondback stripped upper to build on.
What kind of adapter do I need to mount a bi pod to the M lok rail?
Just got mine before the Oregon gun law goes into affect. Getting some upgrades done before I go shoot it.
Good purchase before we all lose our rights. What do you plan on changing?
@@GBGuns Replaced the muzzle brake for now, installed a bipod, front grip, and put my Nikon scope on it for now. Got some 45 degree front sites on order for close range shooting.
Has anyone had issues with 7.62x51 in their DB10? I am unable to cycle 2 rounds through the rifle with success. It fails to pull the second round each time the first round fires. It is not the magazines as I have DB10 mags and the ProMags that came with it. I sent it back to DiamondBack, they said they replaced the BCG and adjusted the gas block, and successfully cycled 30 rounds through it, and yet I have the exact same results, will not cycle any rounds. Are .308 bullets any different from NATO rounds? My friends have the same batch of 7.62 they are running through their M1A's and have no issues with them. I'm using Lake City NATO 7.62x51 ammunition. The BGC slides over the round leaving a huge groove into the bullet, looks like the mag isn't up high enough, but I can manually cycle every bullet. I'm going to try .308 Federal labeled ammo tomorrow.
Captive firing pin retainer pin , cool
just bought one in 308.....what upper will work for this lower...in 6.5 creedmoor?
Damn my hand guard all rough and doesn’t line up./: can I fix it or is it how it is?
Anybody know if there's any barrel's you can switch out for a silencer or if it's already threaded?
Seen a db 10 combo at my local store db 10 308 with a 6.5 creedmore barrel to shoot ether round
I know this is an old video, but could you show how completely dissemble it for cleaning? I dont want to mess mine up
It's just like any other AR.
My selection for an AR10 is singles out to this rifle. If you were gonna buy another AR10, would you buy this one again or choose another.
Thank you
George
George Azar I looked at allot of AR10's before buying this one, trying to find a 18" Midlength AR10 isn't easy especially under $1,,000 but I have had some incredibly accurate groups out of mine, even with surplus ammo. With a Vortex HST 6-24x50 and Warne Skelotonized Mount I am just over 9lbs, 9lbs 5oz I believe, and that is really light for an AR10, not the lightest but some I looked at were 9lbs + naked
Are you able to take off the handguard
What type of lower can I put on the DB10 diamond upper? Does it have to be a diamond back lower?
Best case is dont mix companies with AR-10s. AR-10 doesnt have a mil-spec so machining between companies is a crap shoot. AR-15s are all built to mil-spec and really the only difference with those is how close they match by millimeters.
IS this 7.62×51mm NATO or commercial .308 Winchester???
What size buffer tube is on this rifle? I recently bought one and I can’t find anything online on whether It’s milspec or commercial
I don't know and don't own the rifle anymore. Have you asked Diamondback?
Graham Baates I emailed them but haven’t received a response. Another channel told me that it is a milspec buffer tube though
I have db10. It came with a 6.5 and a 308 barrel. Can you post a video on swapping them ou
UA-cam doesn't allow such video, but I can describe it. Remove the handguard, remove and transfer the gas block and tube (if the other barrel doesn't already have one), remove barrel nut, remove old barrel. Insert new barrel, torque barrel nut. Check gas block, install hand guard.
You guys rock!
Does anyone have the db15 in 7.62x39? How is it? Thinking about getting it
to clarify - is the .308 and NATO 7.62 the same cartridge?
Yes and No. As I recall they fit in the same guns and have the same dimensions but the chambers are different. Similar to .223 and 5.56x45mm, but reversed. .308 is a higher-pressure round than 7.62x51mm. You may want to research to confirm this, that's just what comes to mind for me.
Yes, Have used both in my DB10
good video army guy
Is the barrel threaded? Can I mount a suprresor?
Yes
How do I take off the ejection port cover?
I will guess that you have figured out how to remove/replace it by now. But, if not, search for it here on UA-cam. Easy enough with a good pair of needlenose pliers. Just be careful and don't scratch your finish or lose the clips
Is this weapon legal in NY state? Good looking weapon and awesome video
First off, I love your videos. Do you recall if the db10 has a low profile gas block? I just thought that you might know.
+terry smith thank you. I don't remember and unfortunately we only had that rifle on loan.
Yes it does. You can see it in the video @ 4:43
terry smith yes it is under the rail.
So does it run well?
Yes, you can see that in the shooting impressions video.
I just bought an DB10. When you say swap a trigger, what do you mean? What's wrong with the one on there?
Nothing, but some folks have preferences
How does nobody notice that the handguard and upper receiver is not aligned well
Because in this case it doesn't matter.
Those receivers are the same that ruger uses on the SR762
???
Should I get this or the PSA AR10?
I hope you got the DB-10
There are 3 separate tiers to choose from. Entry level, moderate to high end and high end. DB keeps the customer in mind when they build these AR’s -they can offer something for everyone and every budget. Their highest level rifles are made incredibly well and can stack up against the likes of S&W, Ruger, Springfield, Savage and more! Plus they are 100% made in USA which is a lot more appealing right now to most people. Henry Repeating Arms is another gun maker that keeps everything made in USA. and good for them!
I'd argue that Diamondback rifles are better than those other makers you listed.
ummm i thought this was a field strip? in a field strip, i always took the bolt out of the bolt carrier....
Mine was $750 at Buds
I just bought it for $789
Just bought one. Easily the worst firearm I've ever purchased. Multiple issues from double feeds to failure to eject. Returning now to get serviced by Diamondback.
I'll never buy another one of their products again.
Double feeds are a magazine issue, were you using PMAGs?
@@GBGuns yes.
That could easily be the problem. Try a higher-quality steel magazine like a DuraMag.
@@GBGuns I'll give it a shot. Thanks
@@GBGuns wasn't a mag issue. Tried another 2 different high end brands of mags. Same issues. I've never owned a firearm this badly built.
You didnt tear down the bcg. That's not a field strip.
