I regret buying my American Rimfire. The center line of the magazine does not line up with the center line of the chamber so consequently the ammunition gets hung-up when the nose of the bullets hit the left side of the chamber. Ruger refuses to fix it. Garbage company!
I've got one of these with a laminate stock and a threaded bull barrel. What a great feeling gun. I have to say though I have experienced quite a few light primer strikes with it. I'm trying to narrow down if it's a certain brand/type of round or the hammer / firing pin itself.
Man that is a beautiful gun, I love all guns but a 22 holds a warm spot in my heart as it was my first gun. I shoot more 22 ammo than anything else cause of the low recoil and fast follow up and the lower price to shoot. my 10/22 takedown and sr22 both love cci mini mags. have a good night brother and see you on the next one.

@@ToolsandTargets Thanks maybe I will have to pick one up and put a $150 scope on and pretend that I know how to shoot thanks for answering my questions
Nice gun, I bet you can get it dialed in really good with that V-Max ammo. I shoot that stuff through my Ruger Precision Rife in 22WMR. I can clover leaf groups of 9rds at 100yds when its calm... It's so satisfying, and really fun!

Thank you sir. There's a chance you'll see any caliber with the way I'm hooked on guns. I'll have to look into that. I do have my eyes on a savage B17 .17 hmr at my local shop.😎
@@ToolsandTargets Yep, the Savage has a very ergonomic stock, and it’s a tack driver. I’m using a less-expensive scope by BSA. Nicest thing about it is once you zero it, you have a cylinder that you set to, say, a zero of 25 yards, then just turn that adjustment for the yardage and bullet weight you are shooting.

That is a neat rifle, crows beware....different ammo will go different directions so find what it likes and stick with that....i have a rimfire only safe with old 22 single shots, a nylon 66 i paid 35 for new, bolt action marlins, ruger 50 anniv 10-22, marlin 39a, win lever action, and 9 henry levers in 22lr, 22mag, 17hrm......the best varmint getter is the henry varmint in 17hrm....has fiber green sights, holds 14, super light and short....i can gun down those dillos running down the hill...wish it had adj trigger but it has lightened up and crisp after 500 rounds.....i was using my rem 66 for dillos but wow those rifles bring 700 now....shock! The ruger 10 22 has a supressor on it and rifle is dead quiet with sub ammo but ammo makes a big whop when it hits so i use it with red dot for nutria..... Love my ss ruger americans in centerfire.....500yd hog shooters Hate this rain, had to buy 3000 bucks of limestone for range road yesterday.....ouch
Have you had any problems with this? I think I’m going to get it as my next rifle! It looks like a perfect track gun, also pretty fun. What is the name of a cheap scope I could use with this?
No problems at all. I did another video grouping at 100 yards. it really likes the lighter Vmax ammo. This scope is a CVLife branded 3-9x40 that I picked up off of Amazon for $30.👍
I have a Ruger 10/22 (who doesn't?). Would like to have a similar rifle in 22 wmr. I don't think Ruger makes a semi auto rifle in 22 wmr. Let me know if I'm wrong.
Ruger made a .22wmr 10/22 up until about 2006 but they don't anymore. You can find some used ones but they're very pricey now. Rossi makes a little semi auto .22wmr I considered picking up before I got this. Similar price point as the current 10/22.👍
A two point solid bench rest would show me more. I have an American in centerfire . . . I expect this rimfire is also a lot of functional value for the $.
This follow up video shows way more of the capability of this rifle. Sub-moa and still not a completely solid shooting rest.👍ua-cam.com/video/LlYZcfDCGXs/v-deo.html
Added a 40 year old Simmons Deerfield 3x9 to mine. Shoots great with Federals 30 grain & most 45 grain. They are picky in most 22 wnt rifles as to what groups good. Fine rifle though up to 150 yards
@@billdye3530 That's something I definitely need to get. The binoculars at 10x just don't cut it at 100 yards with these tiny holes on a paper target.😆
I haven't yet. I haven't been back out with it since this but I plan on doing some group tests with different ammo using a better shooting rest this time.👍
Good deal Toolman. I think the 17 is very limited. Even the ammo. For me I'd just stay with a 22 maybe a take down 22 L.R. I like the Ruger you just bought. A LOT. Have a good week and Brother & All the best to you! Good shooting! Wait till you get old like me.
@@buzsalmon This is the first one I've bought since I'm not a hunter so I'm not a big bolt action guy. This one was only $299 being rimfire but the others can be had for as low as $375 on up to just under $500 depending on caliber.
i would have first, dialed the scope in at 25 yards then tweaked it at 50, the 100. Ive watched both your video's on this gun and thats really disappointing grouping. think i get a cz instead.
I imagine this gun is every bit as capable as any CZ. You need to pay attention to the conditions that were present instead of blaming a gun for what you consider "disappointing" grouping. I'll wait for your excellent demonstration video with the CZ.👍

I don't. RK always has em in stock at mine but I'm not a big fan of how much plastic it uses. If I ever bought an AR style .22lr, it would probably be that HK416. I've got so many .22lr's already though I'll probably never get either one. .22lr is some fun plinking for a little bit but then I need some power.😆
Hey I have a 15-22 and it is a plastic nite mare but it runs anything I put in it I only clean it after about 500 rounds now and with a UTG red dot and a two point sling and 8-25 round mags I have gotten my money back my 10 year old son has been shooting it for 3 years and a couple of months ago he finally asked to shoot my Sig 516-556 and since he knows where all the controls are at and how to load it once he realized that it didn’t have any recoil he is hitting the Water bottles at 80 yards every time.

Love my ss ruger americans in centerfire.....500yd hog shooters
Hate this rain, had to buy 3000 bucks of limestone for range road yesterday.....ouch
Sounds like a great collection! It poured down rain here today and then felt like a swamp after it stopped. The worst!😆
This scope is a CVLife branded 3-9x40 that I picked up off of Amazon for $30.👍
@@ToolsandTargets Thank you, one last question, does it come with the mounts to put it on the dovetail? Or do I need to buy that separately
I have the same in .17 hmr,After about 10 shots the barrel is smoking hot.
Yeah, this one was definitely hot after slingin these little speedy rounds through it.👍
I have a Ruger 10/22 (who doesn't?).
I bought a 10/22 LR at Woolworth in 72, for $50. It sits beside its 10/22 mag..
Yeah, I'll definitely do some ammo testing next time and not forget my shooting rest/vise.😆
@@ToolsandTargets Don't forget spotting scope. Awfully tiny holes at 100 yards especially for us bifocals wearers
@@billdye3530 That's something I definitely need to get. The binoculars at 10x just don't cut it at 100 yards with these tiny holes on a paper target.😆
Just put one in layaway at Walmart thanks for posting really appreciate it
Wow, great find at Wallyworld for sure.
@Tools&Targets really appreciate your videos and your hard work ,you do a great job for sure happy holidays
@@chuckydubree1925 Thank you sir. Same to you!
How excellent did you try at 200 yards?
I haven't yet. I haven't been back out with it since this but I plan on doing some group tests with different ammo using a better shooting rest this time.👍
Good deal Toolman.
I think the 17 is very limited. Even the ammo. For me I'd just stay with a 22 maybe a take down 22 L.R.
I like the Ruger you just bought. A LOT.
Have a good week and Brother & All the best to you!
Good shooting! Wait till you get old like me.
Thank you sir. Have to agree about the .17hmr. I might end up getting one but definitely wanted to grab this first.😎
@@ToolsandTargets what is a good price today for the R.Americans? Don't they come in all the calibers?
@@buzsalmon This is the first one I've bought since I'm not a hunter so I'm not a big bolt action guy. This one was only $299 being rimfire but the others can be had for as low as $375 on up to just under $500 depending on caliber.
@@ToolsandTargets thank you. Appreciate it very much.Buz & I'm not a big bolt action man anymore but growing up I was. 30.06 is
Looks great. Thanks👍!
Thank you sir.😎
I like those RAR in 22 wmr $655 at a cheap dealer 🇦🇺 $73 for a magazine 🇦🇺😎👍
This one is a very good shooter.
Good video as always buddy, That's a slick rifle if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for it I've been looking for a nice .22 mag rifle.
Thank you sir. $299.👍
@@ToolsandTargets That’s a real good deal I’m going to have to look into one!
Good video and nice rifle here(france) it's expensive about 700 ; the price I paid my Ruger american in .300BLK.
Thank you sir.😎👍
Just bought HK 416 in 22LR Love it
I've almost picked that up locally several times but I'm just kinda burnt out on .22lr. I got too doggone many of em already.😆
@@ToolsandTargets I know what you mean brother but right now it’s the cheapest thing to shoot
i would have first, dialed the scope in at 25 yards then tweaked it at 50, the 100.
You do a jelly test see what ammo dose best with that gun
Only 22 mags Rossi semi auto $259 total after transfer and savage mark II Fv svr bolt love them.
I almost got the Rossi before deciding on this.👍
How much did it cost tools? I like that rifle.
$299.👍
@@ToolsandTargets cool ! When I seen your review of the winchester wildcat I had to go out and get me one. That is a really cool little rifle also.
@@ToolsandTargets i really like all of you content you do a great job keep up the great work.
@@76_138 Appreciate that brother.😎
Nice Group for a bore sight
I wasn't too mad about it for not having any kind of rest for my stock. Definitely wanna tighten it up this coming week though.😎
Nice video.
Thank you sir.😎
Just found out there's a rural king 45 mi from me.
Nice! Everybody needs a RK!😎
Nice tack driver there!
Thank you ma'am.😎
Been Looking for a 22 mag
This one seems really nice. I can't wait to get it back out with my vise and really get it dialed in.😎
I need a couple of extended magazines, they look sweet
I'm a sucker for the tacticool look.😎
Nice Rifle and good shooting.
Thank you sir. Definitely gotta get it dialed in a little tighter next time out.👍
Not to bad, it didn't like the Aguila.
I think you're right. I'll give it another workout this week with a few other types and see what it likes best.😎
Ruger is a great rifle they really never fail great video Be Safe and God Bless 👍
Thank you sir. I agree, never have had a problem with any of my Rugers.😎
@@ToolsandTargets me either
mine likes the CCI 40 grain
I've got a few different kinds of CCI 40 grainers so I'll definitely be trying those out.👍
BL do u have a mp 15/22 sr style bought one last week at the local gun show for 288.61 . If u get one , u will really like it . Check out the mp smith Wesson one . Great video 👍👍👍
@@robertharing7031 since I had mine no issue at all .
Hey Tools I thank we talked earlier
