    I thought Mars’s problem in not being habitable was that its mass is too small, so its core cooled down and its magnetic field weakened. This is why it can’t hold onto a thick atmosphere. So even if we started thickening the atmosphere, wouldn’t the solar wind just blast it off?

    Theories, not mentioned in the stream:
    1. Orbit/launch meteorite(s), and make it impact Mars.
    2. To keep the Sun from "eating" the Earth, humans could send the Sun "fuel" to avoid it from going to expand and to keep it dense, while it would make it last longer in a "not dangerous to the Earth" status. A sort of adaption fuel that "inject" into the flow without interrupting too much.

    Wait wouldn’t nuking the top and the bottom of mars far enough out propel most of those particles across space. I mean I may be wrong but the gravitational field of mars can’t be strong enough to keep those particles rotating around the planet. Not to mention the atmosphere isn’t really dense enough to hold that much debris I think most of it would just fall to the planet.

    Probably the best way to make Venus or Mars habitable for humans through terraforming is to change the orbit of these planets around the sun further into the habitable zone. But humanity is still far from technically capable of doing this. In addition, the terraforming process would take thousands of years.

    • @nickidaisydandelion4044
      @nickidaisydandelion4044 10 місяців тому

      For Mars the terraforming phase might only last a hundred years if it's done right. During the beginning phase people have to live in thick glass dome structures. They introduce mosses which grow in very high altitudes that are used to low oxygen levels or even no oxygen. Those will then emit oxygen into the the atmosphere and very gradually increase the oxygen level to where they can introduce very hardy larger plants like pine trees, cacti, tumbleweed etc which will increase the oxygen level further.

  • @tecknows
    @tecknows Рік тому

    Venus makes sense. It is in our Solar System, so close enough. It has an atmosphere, albeit a toxic atmosphere. It would be easier to filter the toxins, convert the toxins and other gasses to less harmful and/or even useful gasses. Also, the Greenhouse effect due to the make-up of the atmosphere on Venus is the cause of the temperatures. In this video, it talks about "surface cooling pipes", which is just absurd. Correcting the atmospheric make-up will naturally regulate the temperature to a normal habitable zone, and it wouldn't take centuries after the atmosphere was at an acceptable level either. The changes would be much faster and catastrophic to its current environment than believed. Not catastrophic to our needs, just it's current or "native" state.
