How did (or do) YOU decide wetther you for a certain brand over another? What are your most important factors here? Let me know in the comment section below! Obviously it's hard to judge as a viewer if a certain product might work out for you as well, as it's all about the experience. But I think you might get a better pre-selection by these kind of videos, and I try to describe it as objective as I can.
As I explained, I really value in a reed that I know that it will respond in a reliable way. We all know that your superb reed will eventually come to a end, many times in the most of inconvenient ways. Whether it is right before a gig losing it's core strenght or your two year old kid trying to put the cap on your mouthpiece, only splitting it right in the middle... it rarely happens at nice point in time. That's why I like consistency, it takes a certain stress factor away. I've actually never felt really comfortable anymore of reeds coming to an end.
But I know, there are many great players selecting the best reeds out of the box, rotating several, keeping it in containers with certain products etc. That is just not for me.
Anyway, back to these new Syos produced Arcane reeds. They seem really fun! Only had just a couple moments on it, but it's very promising if you'd ask me. Still need to test it more and longer for the consistency though before deciding if I want to change. Here is a link to the Arcane reeds: www.syos.co/shop/saxophone/reeds

Personally, consistency and overall versatility are what I looked for the most. I used to be in love with Legere reeds and Boston sax shop reeds because of the consistency, but now I stick to V12’s and I adjust them by hand to get the sound I want from them.

Tried BSS reeds once and saw no point in trying different brands, since it gave me everything I needed - longevity, consistency and quality:)
