    Is this pre-Dark Side of the Moon? Wow. The first time I heard Time was as a kid in the 1970s. I was at a friends house, and his dad was playing it on his record player. I was hooked. Instant Pink Floyd fan. That was over 40 years ago.

    I saw these guys at the a small night club in Chicago in the late 60s or early 70s. I think it was the Cheetah, but not sure. Very cool seeing such a band in a small night club with just a couple hundred folks. Saw Jimmy Page with the Yardbirds there as well, in 1973 I believe.

    • @crazypowceeck
      @crazypowceeck 10 років тому +6

      you couldn't see the Yardbirds in 1973, as they broke up in 1968. if you had meant 1963 - it couldn't be Page, as he joined the Yardbirds in 1966 :)

    • @willywags7
      @willywags7 10 років тому +8

      Yeah, I see the discrepancies in time. Frankly, I don't know where my memory is failing. Either it was Zeppelin and not the Birds, or it was a few years earlier. I just recall leaning up against the stage and watching Page play. Wonderful in such a small venue.

    Roger Waters: Bass Guitar
    Richard Wright: Electric piano and Vocals
    Nick Mason: Drums
    David Gilmour: Guitar and Vocals
    I also agree that this is one of Gilmour's finest guitar solos and that the historic value of this recording cannot be put into words. Thanks, floydfanbr!

Regardless of whatever silly name bootleggers have called it over the years (I've just got your reply but I'll finish this comment anyway) and I bought it on vinyl called 'Beyond The Stars' back in 1983 and still have the copy. As I say in my post on here 7 years ago, it's from the very famous recording at The Rainbow Theatre, London 20th Feb 1972 and this is around the 12th performance of Dark Side, the first being a month earlier at The Dome, Brighton 20th Jan 72. Brighton is my home town and I booked The Dome for a show with my PF tribute band 'Sheep' for the 25th anniversary. We performed the whole of Dark Side as well as many other PF classics including 'Echoes'. The reason I posted who is playing is because various ignorant idiots on here were saying it's fake and not Pink Floyd.

    Listened to rogers demo , then this , then the 1973 remastered version , it’s haunting and amazing to see the masterpiece to be created , this song hits me hard as I’m a deep thinker about life , and thinking I’m wasting my life with work and other things , I need to stop and live in the moment , enjoy every minute with my children while they are young , because it won’t be long they will be grown up and gone ….. and I’ll be an old man listening to this song again 😢

    I remember so far back that Pink Floyd was a fringe band that nobody'd ever heard of. I used to listen to underground radio, often on shortwave, that somehow managed to get albums before they'd been released to the public. Already being familiar with Floyd's albums "Saucerful of Secrets" and "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn", I was blown away by the "Dark Side of the Moon" album. The replacement of Barret, or what was left of Syd, with Gilmour seemed to radically transform Floyd. Their single "Money" made them some money and the mention of them wasn't met with blank stares. Long my favorite song, "Time's" guitar solo and Gilmour's vocals are mesmerizing. I've been to several Floyd shows and they've never disappointed.

    is it time to wake up? or go to bed? perhaps i'll just spin with the clock until the end... when My guide takes my hand to the promise land, does anyone care, ? about the Love I shared? was it all just in his name? while I feel his pain? is it the end? My destiny?

    I was born and bred listening to Pink Floyd. Some evil pop music tried to brainwash me in my teens but it didn't have the desired effect - I was taken to see them on the Pulse tour when I was 15 years old and am now 33, never been to a better gig since. I will always love this band - their music lives on. RIP Syd, RIP Rick.

      HeyoJoseph point would be that back in the time, when people exchanged copies of bootlegs with each other, then some where actually rare and some where common. It by definition stopped being rare when its published/shared on youtobe. Then to claim that a professionally made copy is rare when its released for sales and then copied up on youtube?

    This was in '72, so dark side hadn't even come out yet. They were still experimenting with this song and their sound overall so before you call it lazy and unenthusiastic actually get an understanding of what you're talking about.

  • @bnhmisthaman4life284

    sounds like they were FUCKED up, missed lyrics, jumpin around the song!!! but i ain't puttin them down, just sayin, besides, in my opinion, i think the best music being played live is when they're tore down, same with hendrix and Page. get them trashed and it's the best shit you'll ever hear, those guys were Genius.. it's just sad that musical talent only existed in the 70's and 80's. after that, it's all garbag, computer aided crap thats manufactured to sound 100% perfect and the industries are only concerned with selling the image, like beiberbitch and miley NO talent, just an image. it's sad, back in the day it was all about the music, not yer looks, today it's just the opposite.

      Its a cut Demo, so it is not complete. They prob fucked up, so a lot was taken out to make it fit into a bootleg size of so many minutes. Maybe for the better? who knows. The rest of the album is like that also. Only one verse then jumps.

    I saw Pink Floyd in the early sixties like most of you never seen them. The original lineup playing in a small cafe in Brussels Belgium for food and wine. They were the nicest guys around and the music was great. I saw them again twice later at the Theater 140 in Brussels Belgium again after the fame came and they were still the same bunch with great music. To bad that the bunch fell apart. The music will live for a long time after there gone.
