HA! the one guy that comes to seamless for a track... totally/kinda kidding (you make great tracks brotha, don't get me wrong, but dude, you make AWESOME tutorials.) No joke, you have the most informative and forward thinking production tips on youtube BY FAR!!! You have helped my synth production more than any other person, in person or online, no question thank you.
Seamless, how do you get it so you can drag your mouse and create multiple points instead of having to keep clicking? (great tutorial I'm definitly going to try this out)
---Captain's log--- Date: 28-04-2016 Part: 0027 So I've been screwing around with Serum (Get it... cuz, screwing the nobs and so on...) After a terrible joke, I've come to realize how powerful WaveTables can be, and what I've concluded today is amazing (I think) I've always wondered why some sound samples sound so bad. For example, when a trumpet sound is playing, I cant feel the warmth and beauty of the trumpet sound, compared to real life or high quality samples. I now understand why different samples of instruments, tend to sound really dank. Its because the sound is STATIC. What I mean by this, is that its just plays a waveform of the instrument when its at its peak, aka when it sounds the closest to the actualt instrument. Now, just a static waveform being played sounds nothing like the actual thing. Thats why many dank samples just enhances the waveform by adding some reverb, attack, decay, sustain, release, compression and so on. Its just polishing a turd. By using a wavetable correctly, its possible to recreate the warmth and clear sound from the instrument because the waveform itself changes over time. Thats the main difference between a dank trumpet sound, and a good trumpet sound. Instead of using SFX to make it sound better, the POWER OF GRAYSKULL (wavetable) will change the waveform over time to get that awesome sound. Now, this might seem self explanatory, but finally understanding the nature of dank vs good samples and how some samples "cheats" trying to create a good sample really blew my mind today. This was a good day! As always, I might just be completely wrong, but its nice to work with sounds and musics and stuffs.. Good video! Captain out!
Sigh... ok I guess I really have to get Harmor now while it's on sale :| Why Seamless!? Why are you doing this to my wallet?! I like the simplicity and accessability of Harmless and only wanted to buy this cause I don't understand everything about Harmor and don't want to waste any money for a VST I cannot control and use to the fullest. As if the upcoming Steam sale wasn't enough. Well... here goes my paycheck.
damn seamless. lots of new stuff here the last two days. IM LOVING IT. Thank you!
