This was such an awesome conversation, the way that we make decisions as human is so complex so to explore that with you was super insightful. Excited for more great conversations to come 🙏
I like Thomas. What he says rings true about Yes Theory. It's why I thought there was an element of ingenuity to Yes Theory, and why I quit watching. Maybe they will figure out a better way.
Iam watching this video only becoz of thomas ❤😘😘
Yes, please!
Thomas is relatable, love it when he sits down and talks. Like his 100 days of mediation video
Thomas and Nathaniel. The 2 favorite you tubers I haven't met yet. I met Amar and Matt, but not you guys. I hope we can meet. 🤗
Yes Theory: Seek Discomfort
Nathaniel: Sits on tree root 🛋️
😁😁
yeah, i`m uncomfortable for him
This comment made me laugh.

This is gold.

Definitely something I'm going to ask myself more often
*5 things to quit right now:*
*1. Overthinking*
*2. Trying to make everyone happy*

*4. Worrying*
*5. Doubting yourself*

1 thing to quit right now:
1. Oversimplifying self improvement
6. Leaving spam comments in bold on larger channels in your genre to gain publicity

This collab is exactly what i needed but never expected
Absolutely
Yeah me too!
SO MUCH!
Seriously
omg so true
Dude, you should totally start a podcast. this conversation was soo good and so evolving. Thanks a lot man :)
100% please start a Podcast
That’s a great idea 🥰
Please!!
Agreee !
Yes i thought the same when the video started
Nathaniel Drew's content is self-improvement with actual honesty, intimacy, grounded-ness, life, and humanness. This is why I think this channel shines the most among the rest. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth lumping his "content" as "self-improvement" but, yeah, his messages and stories are just something very special in the age of content that pushes people like they're supposed to be machines and make them feel guilty for some flaw they have in their productivity and subjective shortcomings. Nathaniel Drew just reminds me again that I'm human, and that the things I'm looking for often aren't what they seem to be, and that the real things may be just right in front of me the whole time. Nathaniel Drew is a meditation. Nathaniel Drew is a friend. Not a channel, but a friend who really impacts how I see my life, and how I love the people around me.
I'm really glad that he and Thomas (& Yes Theory) are his friends now since I always watched both Yes Theory and Nathaniel and I kind of lumped both of these channels in the same bubble of "channels that actually see the experience of life with whole heart". And yeah, thank you guys so much.
Wow Nikko, that really means a lot. Thank you :)
Yes, I totally agree with u. Nathaniel just has this charisma that he exudes and It makes u connected to him instantly. Everyone has their journey and it’s nice to see people sharing theirs in an honest way.
What’s ur favorite video of his?
So..true..Its feels wholesome to just see him figure things out in life .
Watching 2 fellow introverts and overthinkers having a thoughtful and insightful conversation is a true joy of life
Same!
*Something that helped me recently was musings on* "If I had one year left to live."
I wrote this journal entry about what I'd like the rest of my life to look like, if the expiration date was one year from today. The results shocked me. I realized out of everything I'd want to do, none of them were increased thrills or risky choices because "if it's all going to end soon anyways, what's the point?" No; they were all things I want to do TODAY but am afraid of engaging on.
I'd start a podcast. I'd have conversations with people about mental health. I'd open dialogue with people I've hurt and want forgiveness from. I'd simply be a better human being.
Now the challenge is "waking up" and realizing that I don't need to think I'm going to die to live the life I want to live. I simply need to take the steps that future me (and younger me) is begging for.
We don't make choices out of fear -- that's fine, it's a human tendency to fear. But it's what you fear, and what it causes you to do or not do, that makes all the difference.
There is no life to regret if you choose the right thing every moment.
@@fabioniemeyer6158 Oh my gosh I'm smiling so wide!! I'm happy it affected you in this way. Best of luck on your journey to adapting that story
I love this (:
that’s for this
Ari, that is so well said! Thank u for that and I’m pretty sure that u can accomplish it! 🙏❤️
@Inner Core Ari // Self Reflection That's such a wonderful idea! I might do that too in a few weeks :) It'll probably be a little frightening to imagine life ending soon, but I might get a lot of insight in return

What’s ur biggest takeaway?
@@MindNow that I’m on the right path with how I’ve set myself up to create. How about you?
@@massagewithmike what do u want to create if I may ask?
I think it’s a complex topic and for me what’s real is what I come to direct experience 😊 but yeah overall, human beings are complex and how the mind works
@@MindNow i want to create a very relaxed slow pace life where i get to be creative, work at my own pace and help out the world in some way
@@massagewithmike I wish u only the best brotherhood! I’m pretty sure u can do it!
I have many goals in life, and one of them is to have a deep conversation with Nathaniel
What are you doing to tell him?
@@ranevc how much time does he have? Because literally anything 😆 gotta start with life abroad first😤
regretting my life is one of my biggest fears so i want to live present in each moment
As they mentioned, The feeling that "I'm not working now" on day offs, freaks me out.. Not enjoying and not working and being in that state of regret..
I have to learn to get out of this..
Thanks for the video..
2 of my favorite people talking about one of my favorite topics? Now, this is a good day. Can't wait to dig in!
What’s ur biggest takeaway brother?
Eye contact is key to great connection , Solid life talk lads sitting under a tree just being humans :)
"Detachment means to have neither regrets for the past nor fears for the future; to let life take its course without attempting to interfere with its movement and chance, neither trying to prolong the stay of things pleasant nor to hasten the departure of things unpleasant. To do this is to move in time with life, to be in perfect accord with its changing music." - Alan Watts
So basically being passive ?
@@caterinas6863 No not necessarily. Move in a direction, if you want choose an island you wish to swim to, but don't push hard against the current if things become turbulent and move you in a different direction. You don't need to be passive, just flexible so that you can move with the rhythms of life, especially those things that are not in our control, or you will be exhausted and unhappy. Have goals, but don't set them in stone.
I think the word detachment needs to be replaced
@@swolemaz_ Perhaps it could be better worded, but detachment doesn't mean being emotionally void or detached from reality/society/yourself, it's simply being accepting and present. If you emotionally invest yourself so deeply into your pursuits, and things don't go to plan, you will feel wretched. Or as another example, if you become so immersed in reading the news, you may perceive that to be reality, and every new story might bring with it anxiety and despair. Detachment, to me at least, is something more along the lines of stoicism.
Funnily enough I came across Alan Watt's description of it today - he does a far better job of explaining it: ua-cam.com/video/AyFjiAWr9YM/v-deo.html
The conundrum of knowing you have to make a change becauaw what you're currently doing is depleating you & yet not having enough energy to exert into making the change. *sending the last oz of drive I have to you beautiful souls who can relate.💞 I see you & it will get better
Thank you for this INCREDIBLE conversation! This was super inspiring and insightful. Here are some notes that I took while watching:
- Check in with yourself often to make sure your decisions are really your own.
- Differentiate the things you can't control from the things you can control.
- Listen to your intuition.
- Your strategy has to change over time. ("What got you here won't get you there.")
- Don't be afraid of doing things that don't scale. Instead, recognize when it's time to change.
- If things are not working out, try to get some distance. (Be aware of tunnel vision. Try to look at the bigger picture. Try something new.)
- Moderation / "The Middle Way"
- Processing and reflecting on experiences is important.
- Spending quality time with people or menial things like doing the dishes can be productive as well. Make sure to not fall into the productivity trap!
- People have no fucking idea what they are doing. No one has "figured it out", so don't feel bad about the fact that you haven't figured it out either.
- Explore your boundaries. Expand your horizon by trying new things and experimenting. Retune your intuition.
- Even if you figure out that your old way of doing things was actually right for you, it was still worth it because you were able to solidify that.
- "My ass cheeks dude!" 🤣
with this kind of conversations, life just make sense for a moment
I listened to this over a course of 3 days just to digest everything bit by bit. Thanks boys! It was really inspiring!
I wasn’t expecting this but I’m incredibly glad this video exists
Yoo Nathaniel, I'm 17 now, these types of conversations are so valuable to me and I think to a lot of people around my age. It's really refreshing to hear that it's okay to not have everything figured out, it really takes off a lot of pressure in making decisions. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏
“Figuring things out” ...life is there to experience and live. There’s nothing to be figured out, but to enjoy the ride, wouldn’t u agree?
@@MindNow Hey man, that's a beatiful way to look at things, and I definitely agree that's ultimately the "purpose". But still, you gotta find a way to get some freedom, and you're always going to have to earn money, find meaningful work, etc. So on the practical side of life you still gotta figure out how things work best for you. And I'm not enlightened, so that can be a little stressful sometimes :)
@@merlijn1722 I mean, that’s the beauty of it though, isn’t it? Life is about figuring things out because there ALWAYS is more, especially when u think u hv figured it all out 😄 what’s ur take on that?
@@MindNow Yeah man, there's definitely always more, and you will always encounter new challenges no matter how well you have your shit together.
@@merlijn1722 hahaha exactly! But that’s good! I mean how would life look like without challenges? It’s like a movie without challenges...would u go watch it??
22:35 I feel that - it’s been such a blur between 8,000 and 80,000 subscribers that I feel disconnected from myself and my situation sometimes. It’s surreal.
Two very intelligent conversations. Why can't my friends and I talk like this??
I think I'm gonna watch this again and again because I know I can relate to this for a long time, I think anyone can feel it in their life, at anytime in their life.
Yo this is a perfect add to your channel dude. Didn't think I needed to sit in on a 30 minute convo under a tree but boy was I wrong. You two are the best youtubers hands down. So much respect.
“Life is a series of experiments”. Cool mindset. Thanks for this chatting Thomas!
I enjoyed listening to you guys while I was doing my two new favourite things: gardening and making macrame decor.
I really enjoyed it.
As a new creator on UA-cam, hearing you two’s hard-earned wisdom is immensely guiding. Thank you guys so much for letting us listen in on this much-needed conversation.
I am so happy that you guys talk and value “Middle Path” and, love the conversation. It really worths watching
What’s ur biggest takeaway?
Man! You have read my mind. I was recently binge watching Yes Theory and to see two of my favourite creators on the platform hit it off is amazing
"I just want to make sure that this decision was my own" - I had to write that down because it feels like it's what I need to do every single day. Amazing video as always 👏
C'est génial j'adore! Ce serait cool de faire + de vidéos comme ça, c'est super agréable de vous entendre parler de philosophie, de développement personnel, de la vie et à quel point elle est étrange! Superbe vidéo😁👌
I love that you’re talking about the grey area between success and failure ! I think it’s something we need to remind ourselves because we’ve been told that success is the ultimate goal !
What’s ur ultimate goal? Or better yet, what is happiness?
@@MindNow exactly! I think personally my ultimate goal is to create more regenerative systems (as opposed to just sustainable). But on an overall note I really just want to have experiences and enjoy living I don’t really necessarily aspire to have a yacht or an unnecessarily huge villa.
What about you?
@@Designotherwise I love what u said about “enjoying living” I think THAT is the ultimate goal, isn’t it? Just live and do ur best. Make the best out of what u hv bc life is beautiful with its ups and downs 😊 it’s awesome that u strive for regenerative instead of sustainable. Could u maybe give me an example?
Uuh, my goal is long 😄 but I’ll just share the most important one which is I want to help low self esteem people because I went through it and I just have the strong desire to help anyone who also goes through it, which is what I’m trying to do with my UA-cam channel. 😊🙏❤️
this is exactly what I needed to start off my day today!!! Life is incredibly challenging and hearing this was very motivating / reassuring
I love how the conversation is organic and inspirational!
Can we all agree that Nathaniel’s animations are just immaculate?? My compliments to the chef 👨🍳🤌🏽✨
What a great conversation, I really enjoy it.
Outstanding - Thank you for sharing!
5:35 Really resonated with that. Been realizing that getting too wrapped up in social media and being a creator, one needs time to detach and go outside of the self.
"I just want to make sure that this decision was my own"
Loving this video! Love how the conversation flows with great ideas!
No way! Two of my favourite creators coming together on a topic that's close to my heart. This is a must watch!!
What an ultimate goal - getting to hang out and have a convo with Thomas Brag. Amazing. You both are such great content creators and an inspiration to a lot. Thanks for the content.
Ever thought of doing a podcast, with these sort of conversations, would be awesome!
Thx so much for this unexpected but very much needed collab! :)
ohhh another conversation🥺💖 love you nathan
It is inspiring to see how you both are super present. This is a masterpiece of a conversation.
You guys are awesome for making videos about topics like this, keep it up!
This is BY FAR the best collab I've ever watched. Thank you!

Honestly love the work you guys put out and more importantly, appreciate you guys as such wonderful people! 🤍
two of my favorite people together, i love to see this
You always upload this kind of content when I need it the most. I guess I just need it 🙏🏽 I love your conversation videos.
Such a beautiful conversation :) thank you for sharing!
Such a great collaboration. I definitely enjoy these long format conversations
I appreciate this convo. Thank you
I really needed to hear this! I've been really trying to improve myself for the past three weeks and recently felt like there was no more room to breathe, like I was in a constant state of being challenged like you described in the video. Love the calm scenery of just you two guys sitting down in a park talking, instead of all these flashy and overedited videos from nowadays
i really thomas hit the nail in the beginning about having to shift away from reacting to everything and instead reflecting. i've felt pretty angry and strongly about a lot of things these last two years and i know it wasn't myself, but having someone speak about it really helped pinpoint what it was i was experiencing! so thank you for this lovely conversation!
Probably the most insightful spontaneous conversation ever.
Love you both so much! two of my favorite content creators together, i had a blast. You should do more of these!
More of this please. This is beautiful.
I needed this!
The deep thoughts you evoke with your videos are so important. Thank you Nathaniel 🙏🏼
This collab makes me so happy. You both are such ambitious people and I’m happy we get to learn from you through these mediums. Playing this on repeat for the next 8 hours 🙃
thomas and nathaniel i never knew i needed this
love this !! much needed conversation
This is amazing. Really needed.❤
This is crazy like how they were talking about different things yet I didn't feel any discontinuation n at the same time it was what I exactly needed to hear!
wow....thank you. Such a great talk, took away so much every moment. God bless.
Never new I needed this combo so much
Great convo!!
Creativity as a lifestyle was a point that really struck a cord with me. Forcing yourself to break away from the computer screen and just enjoy the moment doing chores or literally anything else beyond creating something is definitely essential in keeping sane.
I lOVE this. I spent hours live streaming and talking about this exact thing. I've spent hours and almost sleepless nights grinding out content and the high of gaining followers and views is like a wave, but in the end, it isn't sustainable. I realized I almost hated making things and drawing and I had to take a big break and let myself naturally begin to feel hunger to make things and then letting myself create without the immense stress of quantity. The quality of content and artwork I've been able to make has been worth the slowing down of the "factory production" levels of creation. Great video thank you for the simple yet informative video. I am so grateful to be able to relate to other content creators, makes me feel less alone. Thank you.
Great conversation
Genuine and quality talk right there.
i needed this thank you ❤️
This is so good, thanks Nathaniel!
Thank you for this video!
Thank you for sharing! This is the content the world needs more of.
Really liked this conversation, thanks men.

I always seem to really relate with Thomas and what experiences he has. I hadn't heard of your channel until it was recommended to me but I'm glad it was :)
Nathaniel, thank you so much for recommending "Yes theory", it's a treasure! I'm watching them every day for 2 weeks, and they are just amazing!
Every time I am going trough something or asking myself questions you make a video that reflects perfectly how I feel and gives me the insight that I need. Thank you for that 🌻
Awesome conversation! Thanks to both of you for sharing it.
I would love to see you on Yes Theory, that would be an interesting perspective of what adventures they'd take you on!
This video made me feel a range of things so I’ll just say that this is the most relatable thing I’ve heard in a long while. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and navigating the conversation so well! So therapeutic, insightful, and comforting.
Thank you so much for share this. This is what I need it
As an aspiring creator, this is exactly the conversation I needed to hear, and I'm sure many others did as well! Thank you both making it happen 🙌
Thank you guys for this!! Great down-to-earth Convo.
Wow. I related so much to so many things you said. Thanks for recording this conversation and sharing it. Meant so much to hear some things you said 🙌🏼
i relate to this creative process so much! it's a hard thing to figure out, how to not think about using every conversation or moment to see how i create out of it. i'm constantly thinking about my future and what i'm going to film next and it can be so hard to choose to unplug
This collab made my day, keep up the work bro
I love how much you laugh together :,)
Thanks this is so helpful! God Bless
Since covid I‘ve been more to myself and got a bit introverted (and that‘s werid, because I normally am a very extroverted person) but this video changed that, just listening to you two really put the life back in me! Thanks so much!
Thomas is such a good listener and very thoughtful 💗
Intuition is everything - I love the insight of changing how you do things when you know it needs to happen - its about gut instinct, even when its hard!
I love the two of you together! Would listen to the both of you forever.
