  • Is this New Haoqi Rhino E Bike ready to compete against future electric motorcycles from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, BMW and Harley? ...but, is there a market for electric bicycles that look like an Electric Motorcycle? | Let's take a closer look at this new E Bike that looks like a lot like a motorcycle thanks to the components used. Yes, it's not as fast as the electric bikes from Surron and Talaria but you can still have a lot of fun and at a fraction of the price.

    Just got my Rhino a month ago. It's bad ass. I weigh 265lb @ 5'8" today's ride 20 miles with 3 long STEP HILLS same route home so 6 long hills. Peddled a fair amount, used 20-25 percent of the battery. I've never owed an Ebike but already love it. When I was younger, I lost my license, so I rode 45 miles a day 6 days a week. Once in a while, I'd take 2-3 days off riding by getting a ride from a co-worker. This would have been awesome. I'm oudda shape currently. However, I'll get in shape fairly quickly. I'm sure as soon as my conditioning is a bit better and I work on my strategy, I'll cover a lot of ground. 2 issues I've found #1: All the adds (like this one) claim a 400 lb weight capacity. However, in the owners manual, they claim 350lb? #2 I've seen 5 or 6 different price points for the same exact bike? Overall I'm very happy, well built

      lol that's what I like to hear! Electric bikes weren't really on my radar so-to-say but after tinkering around with these the last couple of months, I'm having fun and this one bumped it up a notch or two over the last two bikes. I'm a power junkie so I wish it had a bit more juice but it's more than enough to have fun ripping around town. They've also got me sucked into the whole Surron / Talaria world now to where I'm watching videos on them and really wanting one of those more performance oriented models BAD now lol!
      As always, really appreciate ya watching and helping to support everything bud, despite this being outside of the "norm" ;)

    Hi Kevin, thank you for posting these eBike videos.
    I know this is supposed to be a Honda channel, but I have recently been more drawn to eBikes, and ended up buying a Lectric XP 3.0 last week.
    I looked at the other eBikes you had reviewed before buying, but just felt that the Lectric line of eBikes provided more along the lines of what I was looking for at the time.
    I think I’ll be looking to buy another eBike around spring time once I get some experience with eBikes and get a feel for what features I want in the next one.
    I’ll be watching to see what other eBikes you review over the next few months, and hopefully I can buy something that helps to support the channel.
    The feature I’m most interested in improving in my next eBike is range. I live next to a 184 mile bike trail. So the more range I can get the better.

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  8 місяців тому

      You're too kind man! Thank you for watching these e bike videos as a lot of my normal viewers don't seem to be too interested in them and sadly, that's killing the reach on these videos within UA-cam's algorithm.
      Out of the bikes I've covered, you made the right choice when it comes to bang for the buck with that Lectric XP 3.0. Yes, I haven't gotten my hands on one but I've watched quite a videos on them and researched them etc and without a doubt, there's nothing that comes close for $1,000 bucks! Those hydraulic brakes over mechanical are a HUGE upgrade and in my eyes, are worth a pretty penny by themselves. Plus their customer service seems to be phenomenal from what I've seen, which is a HUGE bonus in this segment as we don't have the "usual" manufacturers like Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc standing behind them with a warranty and a location in every city. And a big bonus like you said, is finding out what features you really want out of the next one as you won't lose much money at all on that XP 3.0 if you decide to upgrade to something else next year.
      Oh yeah, range is a big one for a lot of people and it's cool to see more and more dual battery bikes popping up these days to really extend the range possibilities.
      I can't say thank you enough for the mentions of being able to use one of my links to help support what I'm doing, I really appreciate it... Hopefully I'll have some cool bikes soon that might tick all the right boxes for ya and if not, thank you for watching ;)

      It'd be interesting to see them give it a whirl, like with the Dax E etc that they released overseas (from this video ua-cam.com/video/0pKgmYE40AM/v-deo.html ) but on a larger scale like this one. Plus I'd love to see them create something that's competitive with the Surron and Talaria E bikes, that'd be cool!

    How are things in Chattanooga ? Do they allow riding on sidewalks ?

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  8 місяців тому

      Good question! I'm not entirely sure if its technically "allowed" as I'm new to bicycling around town, only my 3rd time but so far - I haven't seen any signs stating otherwise and nobody has cussed me out yet lol! When I do hop on sidewalks though, I try my best to be respectful of others but I've seen a few cyclists just blitz right by people walking on the sidewalk and that's just asking for trouble in the grand scheme of things.
      As an outsider looking in when it comes to cycling though, Chattanooga for the most part seems to be more and more friendly towards them as I keep seeing more bike lanes popping up all the time.
      Appreciate ya watching and hopping in the conversation too bud ;)

    • @fredcloud9668

      Maybe you should check on it before you do it. I know of no cities that allow that. Maybe some do. Not Chattanooga, TN.

      @@HondaProKevin I think I’m going to get the new one, I know it’s a rip off but want that new dealer experience for once. Also just like project cars a lot of grom owners mod them questionably. I’m just going so a few mods to it and maybe make it a stunt bike. Would you recommend the one with abs or no abs?

    If I lived in a country where these made sense, I'd very much like one, though I'd happily trade the pedals for proper footpegs. With that saddle, that weight and a 1000W motor, is anyone really pedaling it anyway?
    Sadly, in the EU you'd have to. E-Bikes are limited to 250W engines that are not allowed to be throttlable, they can only be activated when pedaling.
    Meaning that if this was available over here, I'd want something significantly lighter and more comfortable to pedal.
    Or ditch the pedals, bump the engine up to 2000W and register it as a proper moped.

      Yeah buddy, she's pretty cool! I wish it had a bit more power as we're junkies for horsepower but thankfully it's still enough to have fun with while exploring around town etc. I'm itching to get my hands on one of those Surron / Talaria bikes though to see what some real power feels like on these things.
      If ya ever get bored and wanna borrow it to mob around town, just holler ;)

    Controller specs? Amps? Constant and peak?

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  8 місяців тому

      Good question! I'm a noob when it comes to these things and that info isn't listed in the owner's manual nor on their website and I have no idea where to find that info on the bike (if possible). I'll reach out to the Haoqi and see what they have to say and come back with an answer on that one ;)
      On a side note, did some digging on ways to possibly make this thing faster and found a developer mode or whatever you want to call it. It'd be awesome to get her up to around the 35-40mph mark with me on it but I'm doubtful she has the juice to do it. I'll let ya know what I'm able to squeeze out of her though once I do some more playing around with it.

    • @stamper99
      @stamper99 8 місяців тому

      Per Emily at Haoqi: 19.5 constant amps and 23 amps peak.

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  8 місяців тому +1

      @@stamper99 Ahh, you're fast lol! I was just sitting here fixing to ask Emily in the chat on their website but ya beat me to it.
      Dumb question here... are those specs considered "good" or not really for the controller?

    • @stamper99
      @stamper99 8 місяців тому +1

      I have an AR Kepler which has a 33 amp peak controller. The Wired ebikes have 40 amp peak controllers. I want to upgrade so I keep my eye on motor/battery/controller combos. Retail inexpensive sweet spot is 1500-2000 watt motor, 60v, 20 ah battery. And 40 amp controller.
