@@happzy Oh, I agree. That $100K is just for the gunroom part. That is a bit excessive. If I was going to get a shelter, I would probably just put a gun safe in it, rather than a $100K room. Or maybe just some racking on one wall, and turn the entire thing into a gun room.
It’s a great bunker. The only thing I can see I would want is some closet storage space above floor for everything I’d need….maybe in the bedroom for clothes and other stuff.
A few design questions. First, why would you want your generators so close to the entrance and before the decon area? Second, why would you want a coded armor gun room in a security bunker? If anything I'd want that door on the outside so people can't get in lol. Interesting idea and only adds a couple bucks at most. I’d just be sure it’s sealed with silicone on the inside and outside to remain air tight, and it would be very long lasting.
I was thinking about that too. Wet sand won’t flow through the 6” screw cap at the bottom so well and would be much harder to get out of the way in a hurry. I like your idea for a cover. Make it air tight and throw in a bunch of desiccate bags to keep it all dry in there.

Designers! I see many people making the same gross mistake in opening an external hatch: simulate a situation where a multi-ton mass of soil, rocks and tree debris is lifted into the air by a blast wave! And all this will lie on top of the hatch cover, which opens outward and will be physically impossible to open from the inside! And even if there is an additional hole on the other side of the bunker that leads up, it will also be blocked, and the inhabitants of the bunker will be buried alive! I propose installing 2-3 manual hydraulic jacks on the door leaf, so that if the door is blocked from above, it can be raised to such a height that a person can climb through. That's the minimum.

Pretty Neat Mcckay...
Now I need to do parts 1 and 2! lol
If only i could actually afford one... makes a great man cave lol
Thanks
I have to ask, what happened to part 4? I can't find it anywhere on here
Always wondered why the assembly’s are not put deeper?
If there is no light it is gas sealed? My garage seems to be almost gas sealed!
I'm running straight towards the apocalypse who would want to survive it? I've been ready to die for the last 10 years. 😅
Big whoop.
$300K for the Big Boy + 2 Safe Shelters + Transportation & Set-Up. .. Excavation, plumbing, wiring, comeback service after the house is built, etc. Whoever bought this probably spent $750K+. It's probably closer to an even $1M. I'm glad he's in a position to protect himself this way. 11:43
No around $550 all in
The gun room door has electonic lock? What if there is an emp and the lock goes broken? How to open the door then?
The whole bunker is a big Faraday cage and buried underground so the likelihood of an EMP affecting it is slim. But still dead batteries could screw you up if you don’t have spares or your in a hurry. I’d prefer old-fashioned combination.
How are the generators refueled and how are the water tanks refilled…
Yes the water tanks are and can be refilled same with the generators.
What is the maximum depth from top of bunker to the top of ground
I really need to build a bunker with someone.
