The Fulbright Experience (ETA)

Thank you for the video, it was super informative! One question: were you allowed to travel outside of Germany without restriction or with restriction? I've heard conflicting answers.

Hi! Thanks for your comment! So when I was an ETA the rules were centered around the schengen area. Basically as long as you stayed within the schengen area you are allowed to travel outside of your country without restriction, however we needed to let Fulbright know just so they could keep track of us. You don't want to get into trouble outside of your country and Fulbright not be able to help because they didn't know you went. If you go outside of the Schengen region, I believe it is a case of contacting fulbright to justify it (like going home for a wedding). Hope this helps! Your fulbright advisor should have a clearer understanding of current rules!
